Yeah, Shaun's been getting quite a bit of stick on twitter because of that.

He sticks up for his taste in Celine's music, despite the bashing. His girlfriend made me angry though. Saying it the way she did. Why can't people just accept that some people around the world do actually like her music - and are allowed to. :cursing:

I have a question that's probably hard to answer,

but let's try anyway...

 

We all know of a few concerts in recent years where Celine was not really well enough to perform, but performed anyway, the first one that comes to my mind is the AND performance on the day of her dad's passing and secondly/especially the Muhammed Ali concert -with the dramatic ABM finale- as featured in Celine: through the eyes of the world.

 

In these concerts a BIG difference between her actually 'live' singing voice and the mimed tracks would have been really obvious.. i imagine a striking discrepancy between TLTM and My Love for example..

Did somebody ever see bootlegs of these concerts? Or hear any criticism or reflection at all demonstrating these issues? Love to hear. Thanks..

So, I'd like to know if she'd ever sung this master piece live? or lipped?

Yeah, I remember Chris Daughty saying something about being a "closeted Celine Dion fan". I love his band, but why do they have to use those words? As if their career was going to go down the drain just because they admit liking her. :pinch:

I agree, it's a huge shame that "En Attendant Ses Pas" was never performed live. One of my favorite French singles. I adapted in into Spanish as well. :P

Hi everybody..

 

I'd like to know what happened with the Celine logos? I mean, recently this year a saw a newest... more stylized. I've seen it on parfums, TC and merchandise, but why?!?! It'll change or this is just for promote?

I went to a second-hand store nearby and saw a lot of Celine albums really cheap and in great condition, but there was no French material there.

I wish the show would get revamped every year, so audiences can return and return. Not that she's not selling loads of tickets, but it would be more exciting for sure.

Knowing her, I bet she liked the A New Day... concept a million times more. Sure, it was more demanding and challenging, but it was much more visually compelling, theatrical, stunning, etc. etc.

You know you may be onto something. Because when everyone was asking about a tour for SA Rene stated that they would have to talk to Caesar's....

It made me, and other people on this forum, think that they were kind of rethinking the deal???

When did Celine say she wasn't happy with the show? On the 3 Boys and a New Show documentary, she said she loved it -- loved the slower pace and the chance to focus on the music

Yes you are right. She did say that. However the feeling I got from an interview Rene did was that Vegas was in the way of a tour. I may have misinterpreted that. Like I said before, I feel they were surprised by the success of SA. :)

I haven't seen anything written that says she's unhappy with the show. If she was there would be major changes.

I know! I saw it last year. I'm going in February....it can't get here fast enough! That's why I was just wondering what the show would be like tonight after a long hiatus!

It's a fantastic show. I love it. Much more than AND.

 

I also love this show much more than AND -- it's elegant, classy, focused on the music . . to me, all the dancers and other cirque du soleil stuff just distracted from the heart of the show - celine and the music.

I think what Rene meant about checking with Caesars had to do with contractual obligations (maybe like they had some sort of "dibs" on celine shows). Also, the reason why there's no DVD of the new vegas show is because they're not done with it yet. They waited over a year after the last concert to release the taking chances DVD, and the AND DVD came out right around the final show in December. It's because it could hurt ticket sales. I don't necessarily want her to renew her vegas contract because I want to see her tour again, but I'm concerned that if she doesn't do vegas, then she won't do anything! I'd rather see her do vegas than nothing!

I would love to see this show. I went to see AND in 2007, and if you ask me what happened with all the dancers and stuff, I just remember the grand opening for MHWGO with the moon and beautiful scenery... if you ask me about the rest, I couldn't tell you, as I couldn't keep my eyes off of that amazing woman. :wub:
