That's ridiculous! Japanese SME just posted information about the upcoming English album "Water and a Flame". According to them, there is no doubt that the album is finally complete. There will be two releases available for Japanese market, standard CD (EICP-1560) and CD/DVD (EICP-1558).

I don't remember the name of the person who introduced Celine, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sarah Jessica Parker. I do remember that whoever wrote the intro speech didn't know much about Celine -- they said she came from a family of 14 kids, and that each kid tried to do something to distinguish him or herself from the others - and Celine chose music. But Celine has said about 100,000 times that all her brothers and sisters sing and play instruments. So I always found that intro speech sort of annoying.

Though I don't love the speech, the performance is AMAZING - one of my favorites of To Love You More. And Celine is so sweet, the way she introduces Trisha Lee, and Trisha Lee is unbelievable on violin . LOVE IT!!! (and i remember seeing this show back in 1997 - it was the first time i ever heard To Love You More - before it was released in the US . . i would play my tape of this show over and over and over b/c I loved the song so much)

You know, that's a good question. I think that he probably knows that she's really popular but he's probably not interested enough in that to know how popular she really is. It will come one day when he's older. When I look at it from RC's point of view, he's probably thinking; it's my mother! I don't think that a 11 year old boy would be particularly interested in what his mother did before him! Just my opinion.

I LOVE the song and am excited to see it on the david foster CD, but i just wondered why celine did this in the first place. Its a bit of a random performance. there must have been a reason.

In an interview with the Journal de Montreal, Rene Angelil admits that he watched the virtual duo of Celine & Elvis on wednesday morning for the very first time. « It was a GREAT TV moment » says a touched Angelil. He was contacted by 'American Idol' producer, Nigel Lythgoe, on April 6th. «He told me he had an amazing idea for a duet with Céline», explains Angélil. To carry out his plan, Celine had to be free around April 16-17. She had to spend four hours in a recording studio in Los Angeles. «Celine had two days-off on April 16 and 17 [...] but everytime she goes there (Los Angeles) she gets sick... so that I refused.» confides Angelil. Producer Nigel Lythgoe insisted so that Angelil, a huge fan of Elvis, finally accepted with a condition: producer David Foster had to arrange the vocal backgrounds of If I Can Dream. «[...] But Nigel (Lythgoe) had already called him.»

It's interesting, too -- I think David Foster may have pioneered this idea of doing duets with artists who've died, when he did the Natalie Cole's duet with her father - Unforgettable -- back in 1991, and it was such a huge hit, winning Grammys, etc. Had anyone done a duet like that before? And then he did Celine with Frank Sinatra for All the Way. . . and so Rene insisted on having him again.

well after watch CTTEOWT, last night, I come to the conclusion that will be the last tour, for awhile, sure do miss miss those days. I remenber like it was yesterday when she started,,reading all the reviews every morming.

Does anyone think she will tour again in the near future?

I would be highly surprised! This is just my feeling I get from her latest interviews. Although I keep hoping that her tone/words are getting lost in translation! It wouldn't surprise me if this was the begining of a major slow down. ( I can't say the end ) She has been doing this for quite a while now and I think she is tired???

Do you know if the song "If I Can Dream" is on one of Celine's CD's, or is it only on a David Foster CD? I like the song very much as well.

 

I just don't recall hearing the song on one of Celine's CD's. I have been known to miss a few things "here and there" tho'.

So people say that "Goodbye (the saddest World)" during the World Children Day concert was actually live but Sony decided to use the studio track instead of the "supposedly live" performance.

 

Do we have any proof of that? Can we hear the live version of that performance?

 

Cause, it looks to me like she actually lip synch that song.... Cause her mouth is always in perfect synchronism with the words of that song. Also there that thing she always does when she lip synchs, she kind of overuse a sound effect, i'm not a professional, but i think its the vibrato? even with notes she wouldn't normally have to us it...
