Anyone in the UK watch Pointless last night??

To win the jackpot the category they picked was Pop Divas. Oh yes, the question was Top 40 UK Celine Dion songs.

They didn't win, but i'm pleased to announce i would have!! I picked Goodbye's The Saddest Word, Tell Him, and PQTME. All 3 were pointless. Lucy Speed (ex - Eastenders) said she usually turns her off when she comes on. Rather rude. Part of me was glad she didn't win!!

Few of the other songs were OH, TFTEISYF, IYA, TTWII!! Immortality!!

but I'm concerned that if she doesn't do vegas, then she won't do anything! I'd rather see her do vegas than nothing!

That is what I am thinking also. I think if were'nt for Vegas she could easily and happily just retire with her kids. And she deserves that if she wishes.

Why did she feel the need to say something like that!? Trying to get a laugh?

I don't know why some people hate the fact that "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)" was chosen as a single. Sure, it didn't set the charts on fire, but I love it and the video has one of the most striking scenes I have seen in her videos. When she opens the window and all the lights go down in Paris, that always gives me goosebumps.

I miss the old days when I would read about a then-forthcoming release, and I would call my local radio station every single day (sometimes more than once) and asked them to please get the song ASAP and play it. Then, when they did, hearing the DJ say "Here's the new Celine Dion" track would make my heart beat so fast. :spaz:

 

Then I would record it on tape and play it over and over and over and over... and counted the days that I'd have to wait to have it in good quality...

 

Oh the days... :wub:

I love how the common denominator of our musical taste is Celine, and then we like different aspects about her. Some of us love music charts, others love her live performances, others are fond of her clothing and styling, others care about her family life, yet we share passion for her music, but even we do have different preferences when it comes to her repertoire! ^_^

Good question! I bet she thinks of the children. She might even shut off and turn into robot'. I know I sure do at work. I sometimes just get on with my jobs and not think about doing it sometimes, anyone the same?

Here is a random question off the top of my head...Does Celine have a "green card"? (not like Uncle Sam would deport her) Or do you think she has to get work visas? I believe "I'm Alive" would be a great choice, as the lyrics are great and uplifting, the track has a great beat, and you can work a nice choreography around it. :)

I feel :evil: when late 80s artists blame grunge and rap for the demise of their careers in the 90s. It's true that pop music took a dive at the beginning of that decade, but a good pop song was always on top of the charts. And Celine was part of that, of course. :D

It's an honor to the title of the topic isn't it? :laugh:

 

And I thought about it because of Tiffany and Debbie Gibson making those remarks on a TV show. As I saw it I thought, well, if you had had strong hits as Celine and others, your careers wouldn't have nosedived in the 90s. :P

 

And I'm very sick, so probably what I post today won't make much sense, as I feel in random world. :laugh:

Both Tiffany and Debbie Gibson didn't have any power in their voices. I tried to follow them both as they were both around my age at that time in their careers!

I thought Debbie was 100 times more talented then Tiffany!! Tiffany wouldn't of lasted any longer then she did regardless of grunge or rap!

hello everyone. help me please. next month, i (and my friends) will follow a dance competition in my school. my dance group contains 4 boys and 3 girls. you Knew, Celine has many great dancing songs, like falling into you, river deep mountains high, love can move mountains, to love you more, eyes on me, thats the way it is, one heart, i m alive, i drove all night and so on. but please help me to choose the best dancing song for us, which suit our ages perfectly (14-15 years old), which our friends like that song, make everybody say WOW, and win the competition. give your answer soon.
