Did she just confirm this tour will run way in to 2021 ? Wow

 

On Kimmel she said "a year" but she may have been rounding down. Entirely possible for it to run through 2021, since the NA leg alone runs through nearly half of 2020.

Well it seemed like more of an assumption but a correct one regardless. If shes taking this pace with every continent and we’re assuming europe is next, she probably will be a year with JUST NA and Europe.

Now the thing about Málaga is random :wtf: Pepe must be surely behind this too? Too much of a coincidence, she hasn't anny connection with Spain during her career, and now Málaga all of a sudden? Unless they want to have guaranteed the sun and good weather for the filming lol, I can't find any explanation for this :hmm:

 

It's probably a co-pro with Spain to access tax credits (it's a big budget indie - they had to scrape that $ together from somewhere!).

So they're probably going there to access those since they'd need to film some locally and use local crews. That, plus yes, possibly Vegas scenes.

 

And I don't think Pepe has anything to do with it! Celine doesn't, so why would he?

After 'Bohemian Rapsody' and 'Rocketman' these movies about Celine seem like a joke.

The press keeps talking about them like they are the next big movie. But I got a feeling they are definitely not.

If we think Celine sometimes looks like a 60 year old... this actress looks 80.

 

based on the amount of grey hair she might be playing an older "Celine."

This movie is inspired by Celine but she isn't actually playing Celine so they've probably taken lots of liberty with the story.

I have a friend who’s working on the set. She told me that the french actress is imitating the Quebec accent for the role and its a disaster.

Well, if that's the only issue it's a minor one, in my eyes. I could care less how accurate the accents are.

they can't do our accent... the only one is Gad Elmaleh. but we know now that ihe is good at imitating a lot of things.... :giggle:

As a Quebecer myself, I can tell you that it is not going to be well received here.

 

But it is a movie « inspired » of Celines life. Its not officially about her... so.

That's not quite true. Initially, yes, but now most outlets have realized that it's not strictly a biopic.

For non-French speakers, in the video above, he said that in one and a half years, “Famous” will be released. The “absolutely unbelievable” film will portray Céline’s life “from cradle, to Vegas”, including the “extremely moving” love story between a “Mr. Forty-something, René Angélil, and a sixteen year old girl”. Valerie Lemercier, the “genius” writer/director, will portray her throughout each stage of the film (even in the cradle???), and she even sings several songs - quite professionally. The other actors are all Québécois, including the “incredible” actor who plays René, and all the different aged versions of the twins and René-Charles. He gushes about how talented the cast is, and the incredible production. There are over 180 costumes, many of which are incredible dresses. Mr. Drucker plays a family friend, the only Frenchman in the movie. He filmed a scene at their mansion in Florida where he pops in to visit them for a few days.

 

I can’t read the article, because I’m not a subscriber, so I’ll just trust you Scielle! I’m a bit confused though, because he said in the video that they live in Florida, and according to what you said the article says, it’s their Vegas home... I wonder if they’re doing both?!

Pffff don't you know them!? Of course you have the unforgettable Céline from 2008, but there's also Walk the Line, Step Up, Selena, Dreamgirls, The Buddy Holly Story, A Star Is Born and Magic Mike! :yes:

That "J'irais ou tu iras" movie is getting quite the reception! (Mind you, these are just pre-screenings; doesn't open wide until October).

Hopefully we get to see it in non-Francophone markets at some point, on Netflix or some such.
