Céline themed movies: "Aline/The Voice Of Love" and "Celine before Celine"

Why am I not excited by this? :/

 

You're not alone...

 

First is too early for a movie about her life, at just 50.

 

2) It sounds as a goodbye, or as if her career was over and she had nothing left to offer ( :innocent: :innocent: :innocent: :down: ). A biopic is proposed and done when the public/industry starts to look at someone as a "has been", and sadly this confirms the industry now looks at her as if she has done what she had to do in music. Movie about her life. Okay... :ermm:

 

3) A biopic is usually done when someone has retired or is old, and Céline is just 50. It's just sad to hear this news.

 

And last but not least, because all projects revolving around Céline since René passed away are anything but exciting and related to music: clothing, fashion weeks, her "new" interest in fashion and bags, Celinununu and her bag collection... Where is the new music and some interest in exploring new territories with her voice?

 

Sadly, with all these kind of "side projects", I think we're seeing the beginning of the end now :down: :ermm:

Everything has arrived too early in Celine's career... work, popularity, success, VEGAS, legend "status" and now a biopic...

 

And her retirement will arrive soon too at this pace and by the events, mark my words :down:

 

Yes, she is doing Vegas and performing, but never/rarely offering something new or exciting in her shows.

 

Yes we will get maybe a couple more albums in English and French (hopefully before she's 60 and she ruins more her voice in Vegas), but she has totally lost any ambitions in music, as late projects since 2016 are proving.

 

She feels like "liberated" from some "restraints" that -as she herself admits-, "couldn't do with René" or wasn't allowed to do before and she is experiencing now. I can see a estrangement from music which is becoming wider each year now. It's becoming clearer with each new appearance we have from her since 2016, which is not related with music but with other projects/interests.

 

Hope I'm proven wrong, but remember this post :innocent:

I think that she focuses a lot on the decline of her album sales since 2007 and keeps on comparing it to the 90s period, which makes her think that people lost interest in her music. Thus, she tries other things, which is sad, because that’s not the case. Has she ever done this? No. Has her team ever reached out us to know our opinions and wishes? Nope.

 

As long as this doesn't happen, she will keep living in her own-created bubble and self-deprecation about her talents :doh: :doh: :doh:

 

It's never been easier to listen to music now AND communicate with fans, and with both things she does barely anything these days, yet she has never released so little, and yet she has addressed in so few ocassions to us (no Christmas videos anymore?).

Her management team are old fashioned and stuck in their ways which isn’t a good thing when it comes to business... they need a few younger members who know where it’s at, where it could go and freshen things up.

 

How many artists answer fans questions on FaceTime live or a session over twitter now a days... even Paul mc cartney does, but celine I dunno lol

Well she has a boy of 34 years old stuck at her 24/7 these days and very active on social networks who could teach her one thing or two about communication with fans, but apparently he doesn't care the least to ask fans for feedback about anything since it's only FASHION related :doh: :doh:

 

This is all a dead end :ermm:

Me either. I think it’s because we watched the real story, step by step. I’m not really interested in seeing others act it out, no matter how good they are. Who could ever capture that unique Celine-and-Rene chemistry?

I think these things are generally best when far removed from the subject - by time, as well as minimal involvement from them / their family. That way you get an objective portrayal.

 

Nevertheless, I'm curious to see what they come up with. Seems there are a lot more eyes on this now than Valerie Lemercier may have anticipated, so pressure is on!

LOL I think they got overwhelmed by all the press and weight of expectations!

 

But let us not forget that there was also that script being written by Jimmy - and that one Celine was actually involved in.

Has Celine really faced enough drama in her life to make for an interesting movie? She hasn't gone through a drug addiction or anything. There was controversy about her relationship with Rene but not much. Celine's life is basically her starting poor, then getting rich, then getting richer.

Not exactly able to compete with Tina and Ike Turner with the drama because she lost her voice and still mimed the big ABM note in Phoenix...(omg we’re all freaks and know every word she’s said)...but I’m still intrigued by this. As long as it’s not cheesy. Edited by stevo

But they say its fictional... so not entirely based on Celine's life right? It may be greatly inspired by it but not 100% Celine's life...from what I understand...

Exactly, it's not a biopic after all. It will be fictional and an homage...

If it's fictional, I don't get why Sony and Celine would agree to let them use her songs.

Geez you're so dramatic, she's releasing a new album soon, with new songs in July. She's released more albums this year than ADELE. The biggest, most successful artist of this decade.

Today I watch Take The Lead, a movie about Pierre Dulaine. He made a cameo for a few second. It's nice to see the real man in the story appear in the movie.
