Javito Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:15 AM Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:15 AM (edited) That's the whole point... "when you go to the new restaurant". You didn't even go. So you haven't even tasted the real deal, only judging the dishes from their pictures. You told me it's very "subjective to say if a show is better than another especially for someone that hasn't attended neither show in person", so according to you nobody can say if a concert from their favourite artist is better than the other *if* they haven't personally attended the show in question. So according to your opinion, a person that is 15 years old or someone who couldn't possible attend a show from Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston can't have an opinion about the shows released from these artists because they never attended the shows. Or simply we as Céline Dion fans can't say that the Olympia concert (1994) is widely agreed to be the Celine show with the best vocals ever because nobody in this forum has attended that show. And we don't even have the videos, we only have the audio. But that's more than enough to affirm that she gave one of the best shows in her career those 2 nights Or nobody that hasn't attended the LTAL tour because they were either too young or weren't even born is entitled to say that show is better than the TCWT if they haven't witnessed a show from that tour 10 years ago. Or me that I did attend the 2017 tour can say that the 2017 summer tour is way better than the show she did for the Asian tour in 2018 (an opinion widely agreed from the majority of fans here). Do you realise the absurdity of your affirmation? Edited September 29, 2018 at 11:20 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

No, of course you can have an opinion about something you haven't seen/heard (live), but there's a difference about having an opinion (and share it a few times) and keep on criticizing something to the bone every single opportunity you have when can also let.it.go. You may not like Vegas, but a lot of us do and have enjoyed either one or both of the shows and that is our opinion. Oh and btw, it's also Céline's. 1 Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY
Javito Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:39 AM Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:39 AM (edited) I've criticised Vegas yes, but I've barely and scarcely compared both shows.... And here I just came to say "A New Day" was way *better* show than "Celine", which is in favour of the first show more than a critic... And if I've done the comparison it's because the issue with the exorbitant ticket prices was brought up. A New Day had more than justified each and every dollar of their tickets because of the huge production it was and all the people it brought to the stage. What they're asking to see "Celine" for a singer that it's standing static most of the show and an orquestra playing in the background is scandalous, and that's plain obvious to see and nobody needs to attend any show to realise about this. Some may like "Celine" more than "A New Day", of course, but I still haven't found any fan that says that. We may say that they are *different* shows, of course. But to say that "A New Day" was a better show than what "Celine" is representing, that's an understatement, for obvious reasons... But I rest my case here Edited September 29, 2018 at 11:46 AM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

ordinary fan Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:58 AM Posted September 29, 2018 at 11:58 AM (edited) I also do like both shows and their different styles, but I would say the show "Celine" suits her more at 50 years old, than "A new day...". Just my opinion, it just shows the icon she is, without any big stuff going on on stage, only her singing. But to each his own. And I´m also a bit sad, because I would have liked to see her in vegas, but it´s impossible for me before june...,it just would have been great to see the show live in person, after watching it on youtube for years now. Even though it makes me also exited for her future plans (south africain/ south america tour?...) and when she´s in germany the next time (hope Munich), I hope I will be able to go to see her for my second time Edited September 29, 2018 at 12:02 PM by ordinary fan 3 Quote

Do you realise the absurdity of your affirmation? Unfortunately id have to disagree..... the two best VOCAL shows ever were Winter Gardens and LAP. Olympia is great, but LAP had one playback song and there were many songs she delivered better in LAP than Olympia, one example being LBDB. LAPs performance of LBDB is her best ever performance of that song. And winter gardens she was very fresh vocally, having not been exposed to extreme touring yet and zero playback, i mean her performance of Have A Heart and her EPIC performance of acapella WDMHBN.... iconic Obviously however i understand Olympias place in your heart, it’s definitely in the top 3 best vocal performances of all time and no one can deny that As for the two shows, i havent seen either but i have a very distinct point : AND was a SHOW. It was a spectacle, it was a show for the sheer point of entertainment in the style of the cirque. Celines vocals and singing was almost a second thought. It was about the wow factor. Celine is a concert. Its a vocal representation of Celine and isnt about her being a vegas showboater or a cirque performer. Its about elegance and simplicity combined with vocals, almost more in the style of Frank Sinatra. But since i havent seen either, i cannot out right make an assumption that’s representative of the whole thing. Like my opinion vastly changed from the tour from videos, to actually attending the Melbourne show, i mean her showmanship and her vocals too...:. maki_Dion-er Posted September 30, 2018 at 02:06 AM Posted September 30, 2018 at 02:06 AM I wonder how the idea for the James Bond medley came about. Is that something that has been mentioned or talked about? Was Rene or Celine a fan of those movies?I love that medley. Is there any good HQ videos of it? I can only find one video of the full medley but the quality isn't great. Quote

The general sale was a joke, I was on TM at 1pm and by 101pm they said there were NO tickets. I've never seen this with her shows in Vegas. There are tix on Stub Hub going for 3 & 4 times the price and those Platinum seats are terrible. I'm going in Nov and maybe I'll go in the Spring but I'm better off saving my money for the tour (if she does one) and let her come to ME.I'll keep trying to see if anything opens up or perhaps someone will have an extra ticket. 2 Quote ~J O E Y~

But it is nice to have something from her. "but I feel younger and I don’t know why. " maybe all that dancing.I'm glad she feels this way, it is very apparent since she returned to stage after her ear surgery. Not just in her mood but, also, she looks younger. About her contract though, was she just exaggerating or what, cause how does she not know the depths of her own work contract? And I wonder why people in her life are freaking out about her ending her residency. 2 Quote
mirage Posted September 30, 2018 at 10:37 AM Posted September 30, 2018 at 10:37 AM If there is 1 thing I hate about her...The interviews and the ones who interview her. "She’s not interested in specifying why she made this decision now" Oh okay next question... Man just ask it the other way around. But no, she is talking about her pages chapters books and her not needing to prove anything. “I don’t even really want to think about the ending right now, to be honest with you, because people that are around me in my life are kind of freaking out a little bit, and I’ve got shows to do. I’m a mother, and I have kids to take care of.” Why are people freaking out a bit, tell us more... Oh no wait "I really don't care I am a mother I have kids to take care off" 3 Quote
Javito Posted September 30, 2018 at 11:44 AM Posted September 30, 2018 at 11:44 AM (edited) Okay, so this is her way to say "I'm not saying anything because I don't want to" Typical Céline mode. And notice that only one media got to get an interview directly with her after all the buzz the news caused. No phone interviews on TV, no radio interviews, no nothing else. Is the "open book" closing little by little now?? :whistling: My personal view of all this and reading between the lines is that she doesn't want to give further explanations about her career now. Not a single piece of information. The singer who once talked about future dreams and projects and all now she says she lives one day at a time and doesn't think of tomorrow. What was the point of the interview then? Edited September 30, 2018 at 11:49 AM by Javito 4 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
ryba Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:06 PM Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:06 PM (edited) They should really use interviewers who are fans or interested in her music. If I was the interviewer, I would directly ask her this: - so your show ends. What’s next? Any new adventures and plans in mind?- tell us more about the new album. What can we expect and look forward to?- are you gonna finally release the tours on DVD for the fans? And of course:- where is the Encore un Soir music video? Looool (kidding, but it’s worth an answer) I read the interview and she clearly states that she became a real Las Vegan and she doesn’t like endings. DionFanAlways Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:15 PM Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:15 PM She's a master at the art of saying nothing.“I don’t even really want to think about the ending right now, to be honest with you, because people that are around me in my life are kind of freaking out a little bit,..." Celine, tell us why they are feeling this way. To me, it says that this decision was completely out of left field, nobody saw it coming. (ie. band members ect.ect.) And the part of her contract contents, “The little that I know, and it’s enough for me to know, is that I know I have a contract roughly until June,....” I call b.s.!! One positive out of the interview is her saying she's not there yet, meaning she's not ready to hang it up! "I don’t like endings, so I looked at it more as turning a page in a chapter of my career. For me, I’m just not there yet.” 5 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Like Javito said, there was really no point in doing this interview because either if she has something planned it's too soon to reveal it or she has for real nothing to announce. Celine is very intelligent when it comes to interviews, she knows how to turn around and avoid questions like these. 3 Quote
flutefreak Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:38 PM Posted September 30, 2018 at 12:38 PM It seems to me Celine is just done with interviews, she barely gives them anymore and when she does she gives non-answers talking all around the questions. It's a final made dash for profits. It's sneaky and wrong. Her final shows should be a reflection of the success that she's had in Vegas all these years while being surrounded by the fans that have kept her at the top and kept going to see her.
