The weird thing is we know they can do it.... she performed 'Ne me quitte pas' at the Bambi Awards (while also doing an English song). So why didn't they go this route when EUS was out is beyond me.. She doesn't have anything more to prove, no?

I loved the big production with many dancers. I didn't feel it took away from Celine's fabulous vocals at all. I felt the dancers were a bit split up rather than in a more expected dance pattern (which, personally, I would have preferred), but it was still very visually entertaining. Also, maybe it would cut back on the talking.....Rene'.....are you listening??? Help her! LOL She is a fabulous entertainer. I am excited for new material...not gonna happen this time. I'm betting she will be back at some point. Anyway....onward we go!

Im friends with Celines neices and they even said that Celine doesnt ever want to have another relationship because it pains her still everyday to live without rene because she loves him and misses him so much so she will be with him forever plus she has her children forever. Celine friends who ordered tickets through TicketMaster Presale....So interesting fact..anyone who bought tickets on presale through our lovely ticketmaster, will not be receiving them in the mail until late May 2019. They are delaying mailing out ALL presale tickets for the June 8th show until May 20th, to "prevent scalpers" (which I find absolutely hypocritical coming from ticketmaster) from having the barcode so that they can't resell them until late May. I then questioned... him about how it says tickets will be mailed within 10-14 days of purchase..and he said that is true in "most cases" but for this case, all presale tickets won't be mailed until May 20th. (Just a heads up-this was just confirmed to me over the phone by a lovely ticketmaster representative.) Apparently the people who are reselling them on Ticketmaster bought them general sale and got the electronic option and have their barcodes, but all Presale people have to wait to even get their ticket until late May. *Another ticketmaster FAIL in my opinion*

I put a link about this Ticketmaster illegal pratice before Céline announced the end of her residency and people didn't bat an eye here - except for a few... Now it seems to hit home thanks to the new Céline tickets for sale.

 

Folks, Ticketmaster is ripping people off and taking double commissions... one from the original sale and another from their resale websites... They are real thieves.

She'll say "she doesn't have anything to prove anymore". But she works SO HARD. The woman has performed incessantly between Vegas and summer tours.

 

However --

 

I think we are finally entering another new chapter. We've seen glimpses of this new Celine with her reinventing herself as a fashion Icon --- but I think the NEXT 15 years are going to have a lot more surprises, and probably less concerts.

 

It's so fun for me to see that Barbra Streisand is still releasing music, and she sounds great! I love that Cher is still going strong. Celine will be giving us new treasures for many years to come.

I think this "I don't have to prove myself anymore" is something she says so that people stop expecting so much from her (no such luck though lol). It's her way of saying not that she's given up but just that she isn't trying so hard to make a name for herself. That was in the 90's when she was a newbie and trying to go international so she was working extremely hard to make a name for herself, but she's accomplished that and she doesn't need to try so hard.

 

If she didn't want to she wouldn't be releasing new music (every 2 to 3 years.English-French-English,etc), she wouldn't be touring every year in addition to her Vegas residency. Yeah, so she isn't doing interviews as much as she used to but what established big name celebrity does unless they have a reason to? Film and television actors only do them when they need to promote a new movie/show/season, and singers to promote their new album. Now I don't follow a lot of celebrities as I do Celine but I don't see Beyonce, Madonna, Lady Gaga, or Adele doing interviews all the time, so I don't see why Celine needs to when she has nothing to promote. She has amped up her social media presence, is it perfect? no, but it's something. And like we've said before, she reinvented herself as a fashion icon in a single year and as a mature woman when fashion caters and follows mostly young stars.

So, she says she isn't trying to prove herself anymore but it's not like she's not doing anything. She's doing quite a bit imo.

 

Ticketmaster (and CP imo) is definitely scamming fans on the final show. Almost all of the tickets on sale for the 7th and 8th are resales, that is not normal. And the ones that aren't resales for the 8th are all platinum, there are barely any regular tickets. Did they all sell for real or are they being held for release on later dates?

The resale tickets are actually waaayyyy less expensive than Ticketmaster. More than the regular ticket price of course but still affordable. Which is obscene. I'm afraid the best option is going to be resale. Even some of the standard tickets that were available cost more.

Call me daydreamer, but back in July of 2016 I was 95% convinced that she would sing Encore Un Soir during the mini concert she did in New York for the Today Show.

I think these tours and albums were part of a "contract" before René died.

It was planned way before.

 

I really think this English album, the end of Vegas, and maybe 1 more summer tour is the last she will do.

And that it will takes ages before she does something again.

Yeah....Rene said this last contract was completed before TCWT started. I think she came back for him but doesn't want to do it anymore.

 

From a performance stand point, the crowds in Vegas are waayyy different from the crowds when she tours. Personally I think she's bored with Vegas and looking to liven things up a bit. She gets a much better energy from tour audiences than she does in Vegas. And you can tell when she's on stage. Shes much more "alive" and looks happier. Even if she doesn't do as many shows I think she'll have fun and put on different tours. I'm not convinced she'll disappear entirely, just scale back.

 

That said, David Foster once said he thinks when she's done that'll be it. She'll just retire and be done. If that holds true I also wouldn't be surprised if she tours to promote the new album and calls it quits after the tour. If she keeps Vegas as her home base I'd also see her doing another show: just in a different capacity and very sporadic.

What about Celine recently has given you the impression that she won't continue working after the album? Maybe she won't work on new music (potentially) but it seems to me that she will find something to do.

She hasn't expressed wanting to retire. Imo, saying she feels younger and that she's starting a new chapter in her career imply she is wanting to continue and looking for new things to do beyond performing in Vegas.

She won't be performing year round but I believe she will still be doing things, she won't just disappear. Unless she decides to take a break after the release of her album.

We'll see.
