I received my tickets in the mail for the 5th and the 7th.

Oh really I’m going on the 5th too and nothing yet. I ordered on the sale not predate date and one ticket is the collectors edition not sure if that makes a difference at all

Well, the media is picking up on Céline now being the second highest paid act in Vegas.

 

 

 

They said Britney has sold out for 4 years in Vegas but do they forget that Céline has sold shows in Vegas for FIFTEEN YEARS (15)?

They said Britney has sold out for 4 years in Vegas but do they forget that Céline has sold shows in Vegas for FIFTEEN YEARS (15)?

Give or take the years where she was off, touring or taking care of René and her family... :giggle:

 

They just calculate 2018 minus 2003 = 15 years :doh:

I’ve seen Britney 3 times and I can guarantee she is nowhere in the league of Celine! I was dragged with different freinds and although I enjoyed her shows .... compared to Celine.... there was no comparison.

Isn't Lady Gaga going to be paid 1 million for her residency? More than Britney.

How is Britney (or Gaga, even though I love her) being paid more than Celine Dion though? No disrespect to her but she's not on the same level imo.

 

Celine will always be the Queen of Vegas. And it's good that she is leaving while demand for her is still high.

We shouldn't worry about this. It's all about marketing most of times. Expect the media to call Gaga the new queen of the strip when her residency starts. Even if it's not true, they make it up to sell more tickets. Welcome to show business! :laugh:

 

At the end of the day, the important thing is that we know who really rules.

Can't believe they use the hideous sign and layout of her Asia Pacific tour to brand her final Vegas show.

Her branding is such a mess. The show has a beautiful layout of it's own:

It's strange to see that somehow after 2012 they stopped taking care of how to present things.

One big mashup and very random marketing. Such a pity... Celine's shows, tours, projects en products could be SO amazing to brand.

 

 

What bothers me the most is that the D of Dion is not correctly spaced underneath the C of Celine. It needs to be right underneath each other. Looks messy in my opinion.

I wonder how much these design people get paid for doing such a simple job. Man we are talking about the great Celine Dion. Could they not make it more interesting?

It's usual media spin.

 

Celine has never spoken about her deal - the media speculation that she makes $476,000 per show came about when Britney's camp leaked that she was purportedly making $475,000 per show.

 

If Britney was making $507,000 per show, her residency would run at an operating loss as her residency barely grossed that across its 4 year run last time - and sell-out? The woman's sell-out rate across the residency was just 84.9 - the best paid act in Vegas doesn't post those numbers. Here's the numbers from my Las Vegas database (I collate the residency numbers for all of the Las Vegas residencies by major acts):

 

Britney Spears - Piece of Me (Las Vegas Residency):

 

Total Gross: $137,207,234

Total Tickets Sold: 916,174 / 1,078,328

Total Number of Shows: 249

 

Average Per Show Gross: $551,033

Average Per Show Attendance: 3,679 / 4,330

Average Ticket Price: $149.76

 

For comparison reasons, Celine's sell-out rate across residency number 1 was 97.0% and across residency #2 it has thus far been 97.0% - in other words, with 1,061 shows thus far (more than 4 times what Britney has performed in), Celine has performed at a considerably higher level.

 

In actuality, there is no other comparative example in music history of a major label artist performing in one place, selling so many tickets, making so much money, across so many years as what Celine has done here - she is peerless, a revolutionary act in this regard. Any anyone that believes she ISN'T the highest paid act in Vegas has lost their marbles. I wouldn't be surprised if this woman, once labelled a Vegas stimulus package (as it was estimated that she was bringing in almost $120 million per year to the Vegas economy), is paid in the region of $600,000+ per show (she'd still be profitable on the gate alone, without considering what she brings in to Caesar's in addition to this).

She could never match the impact on the economy, business/ entertainment industry or actual profit of either of Celines shows. Celine performed OVER 400 ACTUALLY SOLD OUT shows over the course of AND.

 

Didnt britney only actually sell out like 50 out of the 200+ shows :giggle:

Having in mind that Britney Spears doesn't sing a single live note, barely speaks or dances during the show (saw her last summer so I know for a fact), even if she'd get half of what Celine gets I'd still think it's too much. For me is both impressive and outrageous that an artist that plays a playback from the actual original CD in her show can have a residency in Vegas and people pay for it.

Let’s hope for some epic coverage for our Queen as she begins her final run of her Legendary residencies.

 

History will always show that Icon Celine changed the face of Vegas and everyone else followed in her footsteps.

Press is press, their claims don't defame Celine so there's nothing wrong with them - it's a bit like the "best-selling female artist of all-time claims" which are attributed to Celine, Mariah and Madonna and Madonna clearly is the one with the strongest claim to it.

 

Ultimately, you can't argue Celine's numbers.

 

With A New Day... she sold-out the first 248 shows - (almost 80 of them before she'd even performed her first show) - that's the sum total of Britney's Vegas run.

Since noticing that Celine's final shows had tickets as pricey as $5,000, I've kept an eye on the Ticketmaster site to see what the sales are like as I fully expect this to be the highest grossing single residency show in the history of Las Vegas.

 

The final show is set for June 8th and there's currently 273 tickets left on sale - the venue was fully opened for her final leg of shows (that's 4,296 seats) - that means she's already cleared 4,000 tickets (including all of the $5,000 tickets) and I've broken down what's left:

 

Front Orchestra 2: 9 tickets ($1,057) - $9,513

Front Orchestra 3: 11 tickets ($459) - $5,049

Front Orchestra 4: 2 tickets ($2,812) - $5,624

Front Orchestra 5: 6 tickets ($2,857) - $17,142

Orchestra 2: 26 tickets ($381) - $9,906

Orchestra 3: 13 tickets ($619) - $8,047

Orchestra 4: 12 tickets ($767) - $9,204

Orchestra 5: 4 tickets ($900) - $3,600

Orchestra 6: 51 tickets ($486) - $24,786

The first $ figure is the value of the CHEAPEST ticket in that section and the second $ figure is the value of that section if ALL of the tickets are at that price (the reality is they aren't, and so most sections are even more valuable). The total remaining value using the above figures is $147,588 (let's round up to $150,000).

 

That's an average ticket price of $549 - assuming the residency sells at that level, that means she's looking at a final show gross of around $2.4 million.

9 daysssssss ! Ive never been more excited for a return to vegas apart from 2015 lol. Ive missed the queen so much 2 months was just too long. I mean technically weve only seen Celine for 3 full months this year. Half of may and half of august plus all of june and july.... sigh
