Nmj Posted October 25, 2018 at 07:17 PM Posted October 25, 2018 at 07:17 PM Not to mention the fact that being a full time single mom is a job on its own. I dont care if people say “oh she has help” yes most mothers do, grandparents etc. She mostly only lets Linda cover for her when she does shows / is busy anyway (from what weve seen and know). It doesnt change the fact that shes a full time mother to TWO eight year olds and if RC is at University, she will still be helping him almost every other day with stuff and will probably be showering him with attention when hes not at Uni and at home Also people who make 30 grand a year, not millions a year. Work everyday of the week except holidays, some even work holidays just to barley get by... those samePeople many are also full time mothers, or fathers, have ZERO help... to work endless and tiring jobs/ hours and still raise families, again I love Celine and I do credit her as hard working singer compared to others in her field, but again I don’t feel sorry or bad, or even feel like she works too much with that Vegas contract she has. And of course she was more than okay with it as well, since this is her second contract and I don’t have a doubt in my mind that she returns to Vegas at some point. 2 Quote
jpatdeleon09 Posted October 25, 2018 at 07:22 PM Posted October 25, 2018 at 07:22 PM (edited) I totally understand that, and believe me I’m not hating on Celine, I’m happy for her and the life she has made for herself. Yes she does all that stuff, I just was stating in general. No matter how much she does ( which is greatly appreciated) she doesn’t work career wise as hard as the teachers, nurses, firefighters, etc who work not only more physical jobs with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less pay but also work full time hours. I love Celine; but let’s all admit her and anyone else in her place have it so good, even if she worked 7 days a week it would be good because she works only so many weeks out of the year and gets a salary that most people would never see in thier lifetime. Salary is our fault tho, no reason a singer should make the amount of money they do, but then our teachers barley can put food on the table; it’s our fault because we pay thousands of dollars on concert tickets, or football games etc. Being a singer is tiring too. You sing at night. Sleep in morning.. Sometimes you lose a voice because maybe lack of sleep, overuse of vocals. Céline is very lucky to be in the music business for that long. Some doesn't make that long and some got no job after that. Being a singer/artist vs a regular job is both tiring and exhausting. We wouldn't know what it's like to be an artist/international singer/legend.. I wouldn't compare it to a regular job. Edited October 25, 2018 at 07:23 PM by jpatdeleon09 Quote

Let’s see, do the costume change from the Dior Dress, to the Armani Dress between two songs or change a bed pan, which would the nurse rather do? Probably change into haute couture, only problem is that dress that Celine is changing into (that’s so “exhausting” to do), cost more than 6 months of their salary. But being an international singer/artist. We wouldn't know what it's like to be them. How really tiring to be a singer/artist. It's easy for us to say like what you said from your previous posts comparing it to a regular job. Both are tiring. When you lose a voice.. you're done unlike a regular job it still going unless you quit or get fired. lol Edited October 25, 2018 at 07:36 PM by jpatdeleon09 1 Quote

maki_Dion-er Posted October 25, 2018 at 09:06 PM Posted October 25, 2018 at 09:06 PM (edited) But...she also does vocal lessons/coaching, warm ups, sound checks, rehearsals. She doesn't just go, put her make up on, do the show and go home. not to mention we don't know what calls or business aspects she might have to attend to, even if in small capacities. She's definitely in a privileged position & she's got lots of people working for her, so yeah there's no need to feel sorry for her. But it's impossible to compare Celine's work with that of a regular person. They are different worlds, every job has its own set of stressors, benefits, or detractors. Some jobs have more fair pay than others, & some are overpaid, but that's the society we live in.Just cause regular people have to work long hours doesn't mean Celine has to. Xpresso Posted October 25, 2018 at 09:12 PM Posted October 25, 2018 at 09:12 PM The thing is that many nurses can't sing. There are many singers out there, but how many have the discipline that Céline has? She is now reaping the benefits of lots of efforts and sacrifices she has made for her career. And that's something not many people are willing to do in their jobs. Céline worked like crazy in the 90's to get where she is. And let's not forget the hard work she put in A New Day. Not many singers could have pulled this off. 1 Quote

I always see that is more tiring than my 9 to 5 job. Maybe it has something to do with me being introvert. Being nervous before a show seems so tiring to me. I prefer regular job with good salary. But I don't know, it's hard for me to imagine myself in her shoes. Edited October 25, 2018 at 10:22 PM by gafsa 2 Quote

scielle Posted October 25, 2018 at 11:47 PM Posted October 25, 2018 at 11:47 PM I love Celine, but I don’t feel sorry for her. The average person in the U.S. works a total of 40 hours, and many work 60 hours a week. Céline does a 1 hour and a half show, 5 days a week ( which many times she works 4 days a week) After five shows that’s a total of 7.5 hours which is less than 1 day for the average person, also she only does 70 shows a year and let’s not mention the salary she was receiving, or we can... in one 90 minute show she makes what most people make in 10 years. Haha, "a total of 40 hours, and many work 60 hours a week" sounds like such a luxury for those of us who regularly work 90-100 hours / week for 50 weeks / year! But that's not the point. Yes, it's a privileged position. But it's also a huge amount of pressure. She's singlehandedly carrying a massive entertainment empire on her tiny shoulders. If she's off for a few months, as she was for her ear surgery, countless other people who count on those paychecks don't get them - musicians, techies, ushers, songwriters, her various admin staff. Caesar's loses out on foot traffic & their cut, insurance companies have to pay out, thousands of people lose whatever they spent on hotels/ travel, etc. Not to mention the reputational fallout. She gets paid what she does because her presence creates countless jobs down the line - remember all those "one-woman economic stimulus package" articles from a while back? She gets lots of $ becuase she generates lots of $ for others. And yeah, her workday may be shorter and far more glamorous, but it's an intense pressure cooker. If she's feeling less than 100%, she can't just phone in sick unless it's really debilitating, because if she does, that decision affects thousands of people. If she visits a country once every 10 years, and has people paying thousands of $ for tickets, she can't afford to have an off day. And imagine the stress of performing on live-to-air TV shows in front of millions.Much as she may love it and be uniquely built for it, it's not an easy gig. Is it fair? Should teachers / nurses / firefighters make far more than they do? Of course. But would most of us be able to do what she does? I doubt it. Never mind the talent - most people are not built for that kind of stress. 6 Quote
