I ended up caving and bought two FORCH tickets on the 5th. I'll see what I might do for the 7th and 8th. Hopefully, we'll have available tickets soon.

Maybe because of this: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/senators-ticketmaster-live-nation-ceo-729170/

In light of an investigative report last week from CBC and the Toronto Stardetailing Ticketmaster collusion with ticket scalpers, two U.S. senators have penned a letter to Michael Rapino, CEO of Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation, asking for immediate clarifications on the company’s resale program.

Senators Jerry Moran and Richard Blumenthal — who recently helped pass the BOTS Act to limit the use of bots in consumer ticket-purchasing — say they are concerned with the murkiness of information about Ticketmaster’s professional resale program, TradeDesk, and are asking Rapino to provide answers by October 5th.

The CBC and Toronto Star report alleged that Ticketmaster turns a blind eye to TradeDesk resellers who violate policies and snatch up tickets on a mass scale, because Ticketmaster turns an extra profit from the resales; Ticketmaster’s CEO Jared Smith has thus far responded with a statement saying that “Ticketmaster does not have, and has never had, any program or product that helps professional resellers gain an advantage to buy tickets ahead of fans. Period.”

Ticketmaster has been owned by Live Nation since 2010, and it’s the parent company that is now being called upon for answers. “Citing examples of TradeDesk users moving up to several million tickets per year, the allegations of the harms to consumers made in this piece are serious and deserve immediate attention,” the two senators write.

Seeing Celine on her last show!! 1f601.pngAlthough due to those high prices I was forced to get a seat further back than what I was hoping to get and may not be able to do the mosh pit 1f622.png but at least I’m there 263a.png☺️ vivid seats and stubhub is where I looked with more seats available with more decent prices 1f44d.png

Hey atleast I"m there

How much was a ticket for the final A New Day... back in 2007? Would be interesting to compare both.

They increased the price for Front Orch for the last run of AND from $250 to $350.

That was the max and only the first 2 rows were reserved for VIPs and more expensive.

But it was a different time... and looking back now, although they were still expensive tickets, everything was way more fair..

At the very least — they should’ve given us hardcore fans wayyyyy more of a heads up to save our pennies so we could see Celine in these final shows.

Now the general public can beat us to these seats which feels unfair.

With that said, I love that Celine Dion has remained so in demand for all these years and people are willing to pay big bucks to see her. It’d be sad if she had to end her Vegas show because she was no longer selling tickets. But she is going out on top, as the Queen who changed the face of Las Vegas forever!!!

I’m thrilled about her next chapter! Fingers crossed I can get back to Vegas one more time before June.

I am so disgusted by the ticket price! I can't go to the final show and even if I could, i wouldn't participate in this rudeness towards fans.

When she comes back -- I hope she has SO MUCH FUN with these final Vegas shows.

I hope she's able to reflect on all the history she's made in Vegas.

I also hope they close out the show with a gorgeous, simple tune as they've done in the past. Like this performance back in 2015 which was sublime. It's always so surreal to be in her presence when there's no spectacle around her --- just her singing. You realize you're in the presence of an Icon:

I totally agree, it's one thing I've been saying for a long, long time..

BUT... we know how they work by now and it's kinda common practice with live shows, especially hers. So we should know that by now and anticipate for it.

That's why I've always got a "Céline jar" and put some money aside every month.

Having said that, there is a limit and the prices at the moment are just unjustifiable.

It's a bit understandable if she's an artist that hardly gives shows or if it's a very expensive production, but both are not the case.

I'll wait for the next tour and travel to see her wherever she goes...which will probably cost less than 1 Vegas ticket..

Guys, do you think there's gonna be any changes to the show since we know it's the final run and the blu-ray is finally gonna be filmed ? 😍
Posted

I really wonder what's going on.

Could it be that they are holding onto those tickets for some reason?

Because they literally never went on sale.

Those 'dynamically priced' tickets are the only ones that show up, but they're always the same, so it's not like people actually buy them.

The crazy prices are easily explained because we keep checking the site (so the price goes up, that's how those tickets work).

The real question is: What happened to the rest?

"Better" is WAY subjective.

Especially for someone who didn't see any of the Vegas shows live in person.

I agree. Well I saw the show in 2011 and I saw A New Day in 2003 and I loved A New Day waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than this one.

But I guess it depends on if you want to have a visual show or if you want to see a simple stage with the focus entirely on Céline.

I got to see both of the Vegas shows a couple times, and I truly loved them both!

A NEW DAY... was a spectacle. I think it was necessary to do a WOW show like that as her first residency, because it laid the ground work for her to be in Vegas for as long as she chose to be. Celine worked herself into the ground doing that show for as long as she did. I will never forget the MAGIC I felt watching that glass shatter and her walking down the stairs. It was iconic.

CELINE is a much more elegant show and I think critics enjoyed it more because there was nothing gimmicky about it. It simply shows Celine Dion doing what she does best --- singing. I preferred the earlier days of the show compared to how it evolved. (Even though I LOVE the mosh pit!!!) I will never forget seeing her perform back at the premiere of this show in March 2011. Her voice was so fluid and perfect. It was the most crystal clear I had ever heard it in person. This show, too, was iconic.

Both shows deserve praise and she should be proud. Even though I'll miss being able to go see her more frequently, I'm glad she's bringing the show to a close. We ALL felt like it was lasting a bit too long in its current manifestation. They kept it going because the tickets kept selling and Rene always said 2019 would be the end of the contract. But it's time for her to do other things for a while -- more albums, more tours, vacation time, TV and Movie gigs, more fashion, etc. etc. And then I'd be completely content with her returning to Vegas with a brand new show years from now. Maybe when she's 60?

People will go see Celine into her 60s, 70s, 80s.... And the Queen can always return to Vegas. I've got a feeling her 50s will be filled with ALL KINDS of surprises!

Right?! There are SO MANY gems out there of Celine's performances over the years.

It's crazy to think of all the performances she's given that we have yet to discover (and may never discover!). Just adds to how iconic she truly is.

So if someone thinks this show is not as good as AND, should they be paying less for it?

When you go see a movie, do you pay more for the good movies with special effects than the bad movies??? :-D

It has NOTHING to do with pricing...

"Better" is WAY subjective.

Especially for someone who didn't see any of the Vegas shows live in person.

Do you need to have tried and tasted all the dishes served in the menu when you go to a new restaurant, in order to know what YOU feel like eating that day??? Or based on the ingredients you already KNOW what you fancy more to try???   So happens with the videos of a show, the preview clips of a new song, the teaser trailers for a new movie and so on. And with Céline's Vega show we've had all the ins and outs and from all angles through the years

That's way a nosense argument to say (and it's not the first time I see it here). It's as if you've never seen the sea and swum in your life and you go to the travel agency to book a place to have your first try, and they offer you two options: they give you pictures and videos of a hotel with a nice swimming pool, but with a limited space, the water is static and there are no waves, and then a beach with the vast open sea in front of it, the moving tides, the waves and all the ships sailing before your eyes. What do you prefer? Do you need to actually have been there to have an opinion and a preference of what you would enjoy more, or is it obvious where the feelings would be more authentic and greater? :innocent:

And like we've said a billion times, we don't need to actually have been to Vegas to have an opinion of what we think about it: thank you, we've had hundreds and hundreds of videos (literally) for that. Let alone to say that I cannot have an opinion to compare both shows if I haven't seen them, when ONE has nothing to do with the other and they're like chalk and cheese, absolutely polar opposites :)

What he's saying is that you particularly liking one show over another doesn't make it better because it is a subjective opinion. While you like AND more another person might like CELINE more and think it's better, or like both equally (like me). Taking your examples for instance, you might know what you want to eat at a restaurant but you can't really say that what you are eating is better than what someone else is eating at the same restaurant because it's a totally subjective opinion, just like some people like onions or spicy ingredients but others don't. And you know, some people don't like the ocean and do prefer pools, maybe cause they're afraid of the sea or they don't like swimming in salt water.

But I agree you don't need to have been to Vegas to have an opinion on either show.

That's the whole point... "when you go to the new restaurant". You didn't even go. So you haven't even tasted the real deal, only judging the dishes from their pictures.
