Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

If she really were to retire, they would surely use that in their marketing.

But it still is the end of an era...

I was checking out the pre-sale (for a friend :innocent:), but everything for June 8th seems to have sold out already?

Well if you check the latest post they said “16 years ago TCACP was built for Celines show A new Day... In June 2019 Celine will say goodbye to this very special venue”

I dont know but to me that sounds permanent

This line scares me and makes me sad at the same time...

Same. Might just be a marketing tactic. But everything I've seen /read on the subject makes it feel very final.

Worried.

It doesn't say "she will say goodbye AT this special venue". It says "she will say goodbye TO this special venue" (not even to Vegas but the venue).

Meaning no more shows at CP.

Or am I really reading it that wrong?

yeah, that’s what I understand from it too. If she returns with a show, then probably in a different venue (maybe her own?)

I got tickets for the 8th!!! I need to start packing tissues now!

Did you pay normal price? I’m shocked at the prices I’m seeing on Ticketmaster. Up to $800 for the 2nd mezz! Are these already scalpers selling? I’m used to paying $500 for almost front row!

all of the promises broken, and all of the songs left unsung, seem so far away as i make my way back to you...you give me faith and you give me a world to believe in, you give me a love to believe in, and feeling this love i can rise up above and be strong, i'll be whole once again...

It's all marketing.

(nothing in the entertainment bizz is permanent... even if you're dead, you can be "revived" as a hologram these days)

She'll def be back in Vegas, whether it's at the Colosseum or a different venue, she'll be back.

How much were the best tickets for June 8? (Just for information!)

It’s sounding like it’s the last of that venue being the colosseum. Yesterday I thought it was just them marketing but now it’s sounds final for Caesars Palace. Still have no doubt in my mind that she’ll eventually be back in a residency show just now I think she may go into MGM Entertainment or possibly the Wynn.

I just don’t remember them making it seem so “final” last time? It’s seemed more like a see you later Vegas when she left after “A New Day...”

Now it seems more like see you later Caesars Palace. :hmm:

YASSS i'm going~

it keeps doing that sorry no tickets thing!

Yup, the error was on and off, plus connect to a different device :/

My biggest problem was that for regular tickets, only US and Canada was available for delivery, whereas for overseas, only Platinum tickets showed others (other countries - will call ) option...

I won’t be surprised If she will, even If they make it sound permanent now. I will be surprised If she would never return to Vegas.

I think they make it sound final because no new contract is signed yet so they don't know what will happen

I think Céline knows for sure she will return, even if it isn’t until she’s 70 years old like Cher.

could be but can't make it official ... but who knows, only time will tell

This line scares me and makes me sad at the same time...

scared why? nowhere does it say she's leaving show business all together just performing leaving her residency. But, as I have been saying it is a bit sad for me because that stage was built FOR her and to not have her perform on it anymore is very bittersweet. And it's going to be tough as fans to not see videos of her on stage weekly/daily, we got used to that.

But no reason to be scared because this isn't the end of her career.

by the way, prices for her final show are insanely expensive. Even the mezzanine prices. And they are already sold out, when they open to the public I think the rest of the tickets will sell out just as fast :(

Ever since Caesars tore the stage in half after AND closed, to me it’s never felt the same. I’m not sure why but with AND it felt like her own room made just for her, but ever since that Caesar’s Palace has been cycling out artists and making it more of just a venue, they even now split her store with other artists now, when before it was JUST dedicated to her and Elton had his own area when he rotated in for shows.

I think if and when she goes back to Vegas it’s very possible to see a new venue become home to Céline.

I don't know, is there another place that has that same appeal as CP? It'd be weird to see Celine do another residency in a few years and not be at the Colosseum.

But who knows, maybe by then, someone else will build a theater just for her lol.

I think Celine has the means to build her own theater. Not a casino/hotel/venue, but a theater made specifically to house big-name performers and even her whenever she feels like performing or doing a small residency in Vegas. Artists would not think twice to perform at the "Dion" theater, imo.

Guys I think you're just panicking a bit on here, she and CP have to sell those tickets till the very last show remember? So they have to make it sound dramatic as if it's "the end". But just like happened with A New Day, I don't see any difference here!

With A New Day nobody thought she would be back to Vegas again after an extended contract and a show that got her literally exhausted, and there you had her, 4 years later and with a show that lasted even more than A New Day.

This is a business till the very end, and they have tickets to sell! Do you really think they would say she will be back some years later with another show in Vegas, to promote the last months of this show? Public wouldn't bother a minute to buy tickets if they were to know that Céline is already planning to come back in the future with another show!!!

Chill please... even myself who seems to be the #1 fan enemy of Vegas here doesn't want to see sad faces amont other fans who do like Vegas :P :flowers:

Nothing is set on stone, and also remember how many times Céline changes her mind and says "A" and does "B" (or does nothing at all) :whee: :whistling:

Would you be so kind to let me know how much the frontrow prices are for the last show? Thanx.

She's been selling out shows since day one, ofc people will bother to buy tickets (they always will because, final show or not, Celine is a big draw) so I don't think that's the main reason for promoting it as the end. It's because of the prices (and because it is the end of her/this residency).

They were/are selling mezzanine tickets for $500, that's ridiculous. Even if she was coming back in a few years they want to squeeze out extra money for that "final" show from desperate fans.

Yes but she hasn't had sold out shows since years... I mean selling the full house on every show.

when I was able to check the 3rd row tickets were a little over $2,000, I didn't check front row but I would guess they are close to $3,000. I clicked on like a 10th row ticket and even that was at around $1,000.

but she sells at least 90-95% of the venue every show. That's not a number that would make them desperate to fill seats.

Aren't those the 'platinum' tickets though? When I checked, prices seemed within the usual range? (but then the system crashed because TM is a damn scam)

were you asking about the final show or earlier ones? The prices mentioned were for the June 8th show.

I think for the other shows they are at a normal price. Between 500-700 for front orchestra.

Yes, but they still upped the prices.... and they've now made all the front rows either 'vip packages' or 'platinum seats'.

They're a total rip-off.

And NOT even talking about the "service fee"!! If you buy a $ 850 ticket, the service fee is $ 125,80 !! Not including tax, the 'order processing' fee and delivery/will call. All those added gives you a ticket price of $1.057,05.... for ONE ticket!
