Popular Post Titanica Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:22 AM Popular Post Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:22 AM I’m going to throw in my 2 cents here. This news today didn’t come as any surprise to me. Yeah, she could’ve announced that she was extending this show, but she already did that. I kind of figured that 2019 would be the end of this particular show. That’s why I made sure I saw her again this year before the official wind-up. She is not retiring any time soon. She’ll be like Cher. She loves what she does too much. And she will realize that one day she won’t be able to do it, so while she still can she will continue. I think we are going to see something very similar as to the end of AND. I can see her releasing a new album around the time of the “Celine” show ending. I won’t be surprised if she goes on a massive world tour to promote this album. The big draw will be North America, where she hasn’t done a massive tour since the TC tour sooooo many years ago. I have never had a negative opinion to the years she has spent performing in Vegas. It is was it is. She found a niche. Actually, she created that niche. The success of her recording career took a bit of a dive but she was still a massive live draw. Enter Vegas, and the rest is history. In the past few years she has crossed over into legendary status. The respect she has now is huge, her fashion evolution has made her a viral sensation and her life story has inspired so many. She is not going anywhere! On top of everything she can still sing her #ss off. That alone gets a regular (non-Celine) person talking. She will be back to Vegas at some point with a new show. There is no question in my mind. But the time between now and then is truly the most exciting for all of us. I’m looking forward to witnessing the next chapter in this legendary woman’s career. 16 Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:28 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:28 AM FOX5 from LV talking about the news. https://www.instagram.com/p/BoIb3K1DRMx/ "It's hard to imagine Las Vegas without Celine in it....That'll be a pretty big blow to our city". Vegas is losing its Queen. This is kind of bittersweet, in a good way. Lots of great things ahead for Celine and fans, I can feel it. They should use this momentum and release a tease for one of her new songs. 2 Quote

Nmj Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:57 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 02:57 AM (edited) I’m just nervous that without a clear and devoted manager, it’s gonna be the same old after Vegas ends except no show. So pretty much a 3-5 year break. I hope she hires a great manager for this next chapter. With Vegas under contract from Rene’s hands she never reallly felt the demand for a manager but now once this chapter ends, she’ll never be in need more of one. jpatdeleon09 Posted September 25, 2018 at 04:29 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 04:29 AM Can someone please call these morons (or drunks) of ET CANADA (!!!!) first tell them that her name isn't "Selene" and that she surely could also do tours WITHOUT traveling the world ... aka 2016, 2017 and 2018! https://youtu.be/WIuAHUyQCKo Also Michael Bublé. He is saying Céline as Cell len. “Please welcome Ms. Cell len Dion” while the french ones they’re saying it as “C lin Dyo” Quote

Matias Posted September 25, 2018 at 05:44 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 05:44 AM (edited) Considering she said she was not planning to retire any time soon, I will quote the end of the Taking Chances video... "What's Next?"I mean we all knew Celine's show was until 2019...but we were hoping for an extention like it happened with A new day...Some people said she was moving to a more "hip and cool hotel-casino" (I highly doubt there is a better theather or concert hall than the Colosseum and I also think Celine is tired of Vegas...15 years on and ff doing the same stage, it takes its toll to an artist, I think the summer tours were the perfect outlet for her. I Imagine perhaps a small tour in the US after Vegas? not as big as Taking Chances, but people would love to see a few shows around the US/CanadaMaybe a movie role in the works? or maybe short concerts in Vegas, like 3 months a year or so...Ceasar's people must be freaking out. she REALLY CHANGED the face of Vegas and made it bloom to what it is today beyong the casinos and stripper bars. She made Vegas a high end city full of high quality artists (Gaga, Britney, Elton, and the list goes on)We are all wondering what is she going to do, maybe she will be still active, but we'll see her less and less in the next few years...bummer I know. At first maybe a tour right after Vegas, specially since it will be summer and then (I imagine) like a year off, and then maybe seeing her here and there....is this the END of Celine's career as we know it? I hope not I still want to have her around! Only time will tell... maki_Dion-er Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:17 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:17 AM is this the END of Celine's career as we know it? her career as we know it right now is mostly Vegas, so yes, that is ending. But by no means is that the definitive end. Quote
drove all night Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:17 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:17 AM To be fair, that's the pronunciation that came with her English speaking international career. I was introduced to Celine (Celeen) Dion. She wasn't widely known in English speaking Canada until she released "Unison," and by then in her international career; this is how her name was being pronounced by non-French speaking media and audiences. It was never corrected in these 37 years. It's not ever going to be. Thanks for explaining, my dear! As I became her fan two years after you were born I know that all. But I can't quite remember any journalists who called her Selene nowadays. But watching this ET Canada again I am pretty sure one of them (or both?) had a "drink too much". This strange tone of voice .... it sounds as if the mind is already drifting but the mouth is trying hard to "stay focused" ... sorry, can't describe it better. But I'm sure you've met slightly drunk people in your life, and therefore know, what I mean. But anyway, I don't want to a rtificially build up this whole theme. Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:44 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 06:44 AM (edited) I think we will now see her doing an interview here and there over the next few weeks now that info. is starting to come out. If she’s back in 2021 with a more cirque style show as I said before, its enough for me to do that trip again... as that’s something she can’t tour with. Davey84 Posted September 25, 2018 at 07:02 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 07:02 AM Celine needs to give an interview Yeah I agree! Some media interpret this as the ending of her career, or because it has some dark gloomy reason, she needs to tell the world a new album is coming and that... the best is yet to come! 3 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Javito Posted September 25, 2018 at 07:48 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 07:48 AM A short vent regarding this whole "Celine's residency is ending" announcement. It's not really fair to come out with this news TODAY and then say "TOMORROW you can buy tickets for the remaining shows through the end."For anyone who has ever been to Celine, it's not a cheap endeavor and you literally have given ZERO time to all her real and devoted fans to save money or get travel/ticket funds together. You just dumped it on them that tomorrow they would have to buy their last chance to see her.You essentially opened the door only to people with lots of money who can drop that kind of coin on her tickets in less than 24 hours notice. Shitty Isn't exactly that the way they've handled the tickets sale for her summer tours?? They barely left much time to plan, they just announce the tours and BAM, within days the presale started Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Javito Posted September 25, 2018 at 08:00 AM Posted September 25, 2018 at 08:00 AM (edited) You're kind a bit of obsessed with the touring thing, aren't you?? Tours in the States, more summer tours, mini tours... Don't you ever have enough of tours, when we just have three consecutive summer tours on a row? I'm sure even Céline is tired of hitting the road, and will feel she needs to do something different, at least in order to hit the road again! To come up with a new tour she needs some damn new music and that new album so bad to create anticipation and present something new to justify that tour!!! There's no way they can come up with another "Live 20XX" absurd title again and limit to sing the hits and the random covers Edited September 25, 2018 at 08:02 AM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
