Whenever it was late 2002 or January 2003, it's clear she only recorded IDAN in the studio and to justify the launch of a new album themed with the Chrysler deal...

I think The Colosseum is changing there image a bit and layout and probably trying to figure out what the artists want and change there stuff then they will come back. Because there under new management now and they want to revamp the place with new entertainment for now mabye thats why Celine didnt sign. Because Mariah didnt sign past February either so i think there gonna change the atmosphere for a bit and see how that goes and then mabye in a year or two Celine will come back with a new show cause it takes a couple years to make a show

On topic, It's been a while where I've been this excited about the future for Céline. But being realistic, she might not do anything until she gets a new contract in Vegas.... but still excited

While I'm extremely happy about this news, a small part of me is going to miss this show. I can't believe I was only 17 years old when it started! Celine is surely going to miss it, she has performed it while having really big stuff going on in her personal life (not only the loss of René, but also the first few months with Eddy and Nelson, for example).

 

Anyway, let's hope for a DVD including a documentary with the evolution of the show! I'd personally love a double DVD with the two versions: 2011-2014 and 2015-2019.

She is THE draw in Las Vegas - singular. I think this decision is hers and hers alone - truthfully, I don't think she'd have signed such a lengthy deal back in 2010 if her personal circumstances weren't as they were. I hope that she doesn't retire - I'd love for her to do an extensive tour again (not on the scale of TCWT but certainly a multi-continent tour) in support of a new album. If only once more, let's have a really smashing English language album era.

It's on Wiki (ok, not the most reliable source!) but I am pretty sure I've read it in an interview with Åström way back in 2003.

 

But PS: One Heart was release in March 2003. Its not that unusual that most of the songs were recorded in 2002.

She can then reconsider her options. All venues would offer her major money anyway. (And I doubt she has signed something already.)

The copyright years on the songs don't mean anything, actually IDAN has 1989 on it so... The years most probably make reference to the year the songs were published, which was rightly 2003 for most of them, but not the year of recordings.

 

Stand By Your Side, I can't find any link on Google with the information that you say. Also Wikipedia says the song was recorded in 2002, though that's not a reliable source. Please can you share the link with that information?

 

There are no articles on the Internet relating the recording process of the OH album, simply because there's no evidence about when it was recorded, and the information about the songs and the creative process is little to none. Not even Céline talked much about the album on the little promotion she did, because the promotion was mostly focused on the start of the Vegas show and the IDAN single.

 

Besides, One Heart is the sole English album from which we don't have any footage at all of Céline recording the songs in the studio (except IDAN). If that doesn't tell you enough about why they kept this footage in the dark and why we have never seen anything from it... Add to this they repeated 2 songs from the ANDHC album (released only one year before), that Céline's schedule was alredy packed enough in late 2002 and early 2003 with the Vegas rehearsals and the preparations for the show, and everything leds to believe that she didn't have any time to record another album in that time, for obvious reasons. But you just believe what you want to believe, in your (nonexistent) sources.

 

Yeah, thats true. IDAN was first recorded by Roy Orbinson in 1987, but never released. The first release of that song was Cyndy Laupers version of 1989. So they stated 1989 instead of 1987.

I'm sorry for the off topic. But in a way, you see we're closing the circle with the OH discussion here? And the pictures I posted led back to January 2003 before the start of Vegas, and we're seeing the end (?) of it today That wasn't made on purpose!

 

If they released a new album the same day the first Vegas show started on March 2003, they should release another one on June 2019 to celebrate the end

You do realise ive paced this out exactly the way she does her vegas shows. Each leg has weeks in between for rest and recuperation and notice how the biggest leg is still only 30 shows. The only time zone swaps are between continents, swaps between country within said continents is never that bad. Ive made it so that its at a easy pace for her with weeks if not months between legs. You do realise what im SUGGESTING is highly within her capabilities. 90 shows in 18 months is literally the exact same as the 2017 schedule so. .......

The media is certainly picking up what they want, in Spain they even said that the "unexpected news of her retirement has greatly saddened her fans"... :wtf:

 

Yeah, they can't imagine how sad we are, we're crying deeply in every corner...

 

They're taking this as a retirement and this is only the start of a new chapter, hopefully bigger and way more richer and productive than the Vegas chapter.

 

And then there will come the "oh but is she still singing?" "is she still active?" "I thought she retired long ago", and we'll have to roll our eyes and explain over and over again that "yes, she had been in Vegas all this time"

It became clear to me a couple of years ago that her current Vegas show became more interesting for her talking, her jokes and her speeches between the songs than for the show and the songs itself. Céline herself looks more interested in the talking parts than vomiting her songs like a robot on the autopilot mode.

 

And when that happens, I think we have a problem here. It shouldn't be this way

 

I'm perfectly conscious this is said from the bored perspective of fans who have watched videos from this show for 7 years already and hundreds of performances of the same songs, but after all this time and the scarce changes that this show has seen, I think they need to put an end on it and come back with a new concept and a fresh vision of her songs.
