Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

Like I said earlier, there have been mentions during her Asian press tour this January that this residency ends in 2019 and they're (still) looking at options for the future (even at different venues in Vegas).

 

I'm also sure she will keep performing in Vegas until she ends her career, but my feeling says this residency will end in (May/June) 2019. 8 years of this show is also quite enough and she needs to do something different for her next residency.

I have a feeling that as long as she's performing she will be in Vegas with some sort of show. What I think may happen is that they will end the residency as it currently exists but they will re-group like you said (looking to the future) and come back with another show several months down the road.

The reason she did vegs was because she loved the idea of it and they KEY one was STABILITY. She wanted residency for stability to raise her kids and live a virtually normal life

It's all about stability for her. If she's in Vegas then she doesn't need to tour if she doesn't want to.

Still she only gets about half of the tour income after everything is paid off.

It became clear to me a couple of years ago that her current Vegas show became more interesting for her talking, her jokes and her speeches between the songs than for the show and the songs itself. Céline herself looks more interested in the talking parts than vomiting her songs like a robot on the autopilot mode.

 

And when that happens, I think we have a problem here. It shouldn't be this way

 

I'm perfectly conscious this is said from the bored perspective of fans who have watched videos from this show for 7 years already and hundreds of performances of the same songs, but after all this time and the scarce changes that this show has seen, I think they need to put an end on it and come back with a new concept and a fresh vision of her songs.

So the "real" Celine is not a singer/performer anymore, she's more a monologuist/entertainer?

 

She already cut many songs from the initial setlist in order to allow the 20 min talking speech in her show, some even shouted her to shut up already and her team reminds her constantly to cut off when the main speech before the acoustic medley goes beyond 15 minutes... I'm sure most people would love to listen 2-3 more songs instead of the talking.

Well considering that the speech is really funny, has her interacting with the audience and being more relatable and relaxed... id rather not have another two songs

 

Many people ive asked who were at her concert for the first time or went to their first vegas show post 2015 in particular have all said something along the lines of “she was great singing but her speeches were so funny and relatable and i had no idea that she had such quick timing”

 

I understand from your point of view that you would rather have 2 more new songs, but then we would end up back at AND level of robot singing machine

 

 

And no one said that she wasnt a singer:performer youre just being overly dramatic. Shes of course a performer, but as of late shes been far more interactive and “friendly” which opens up to the GP the side of goofy, funny, Heartwarming Celine that we have known for years, but they haven’t as they only saw robot Celine for most of hee career, hence why people often said she had not relatability or emotion

If she decides to go on tour directly after her final show like she’s done in the past, that month could also be opened for World Tour rehearsals. That way Céline wouldn’t have to rent out a rehearsal hall, they could use the colosseum to do so.
