See i say this because, the outfit she was wearing in the 2017 studio pics she wore for that pre recorded tribute thing. Also because the new playbacks sound very similar to her voice at that time.

 

And then, Ashes was seemingly recorded at the same time as before its release she was off for months (she did the video shoot in April, but her voice was way too weak to do the song in the studio so im thinking it was recorded before 2018. Not to mention that the guy who wrote it said he got confirmation of Celine doing it in November 2017.

 

Now she's actually posted that shes IN THE STUDIO (her own words, not TC who just post random sh*t that half the time isnt relevant) and has sheets of music

 

Also I further assume that she was SUPPOSED to start recording Jan - March and then between her April and May shows, but illness on both time slots and also asian tour promo lead to cancelling this.

 

 

So basically all assumptions....

 

She definately already recorded at least half of the album.

There were new pictures of her with both Linda Perry and Eg White in the studio in last year's tourbook. She's been recording this album, at the very least, since last spring.

But we don't know the dates of her shows in MAY/June yet? I wish they would announce what is happening next year for the fans who make plans to travel to see the show !!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna book it

Honestly, I don’t think the show will end next year. Caesars needs her so I’m sure they will want her to stay. Maybe they will change the number of dates or give her more freedom to tour the US, but I really don’t see Vegas ending anytime soon. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but it’s become a major part of her life on and off for the last 15 years.

all rumors point to her not extending the show beyond 2019. I think she will have the last show in May-June. The dates will probably be revealed in late October or beginning of November.

 

OR it could finish on January 20th 2019 for all we know..

Why do you think Celine sold all her house except vegas? Because she live in Vegas now and the kids have school there

Céline will sell her soul to Caesars Palace and Vegas, we just have to accept that. And she will sell her voice to that stage too (that will be the hardest thing to see).

 

If I've accepted that, that I absolutely abhor that page of her career, I'm sure everyone else can :giggle:

But she can do a mini tour and make almost the same pay check as doing a years worth of vegas show

Well, its never been disputed that 2019 is the final year and Rene himself stated it so im going with that. What i will say though is that i forsee maybe 3-5 years away from Vegas (similar to her 2008-2011 break) with maybe 2 mini tours and an album before returning to vegas on a REDUCED contract. Maybe only 20-30 shows a year. She’ll do NYE and the first few days of January. Then maybe do her birhday and a few days around that, then maybe some dates around October / Halloween time and then back for some NYE shows

Relax.... those dates always get announced towards the end of the year. So wait till November and have a little patience..

 

The official word until now has always been 2019. The last 'update' we had was during the Asia press moments in January, it was still 2019 then. There were talks of extending it to 2021 (when René was still alive), but we never got official word on that. So for now 2019 is the final year, unless they put out a press release in the next 3 months that she's extending.

 

My guess: in Oct/Nov they'll put out a single, announce the album for Spring and announce the final Vegas year.

Well, that is not true. Even mini tours bring more money than Vegas residency.

 

During Taking Chances World Tour 2008-09, she grossed 70% of what she grossed with A New Day (1 year vs 4.5 years, 130 concerts vs 700 concerts).

 

During the last three summer mini-tours, she grossed $175 million, which is also more than 70% of what she grossed with Celine Show (8 years and 400 shows).

 

Thus, small summer tours have fewer shows and more money.

Love this absolutely futile debate about who is more right and who said who and when said what whether the Vegas final year is coming to and end or not and making predictions for the future of Celine’s career... as if that would have any sort of influence in the short term and on album that is already late :kiss:

 

Vegas has already done enough damage to her career, whether she extends her contract more years or stops tomorrow.

It's official that her contract ends in 2019 but I say rumor because some say because of all the cancellations that she will be there for a bit longer.

 

And nobody is saying she is leaving Vegas. She told us her self in February last year that she is looking at new offers from other hotels even.

 

But the run for THIS show will end, it won't go on forever.

Her career is fine. Everything is fine. It's just that it's not what die hard fans want, because we always want more when (maybe) Celine think it's enough.

That article is from 2013. A lot has changed since then, and there has been no other mention of the show ending in 2019 since then.

She will for sure be staying but I think the show as it is will finish in 2019. Then she renews, probably with Caesars, don't think she will ever leave Caesars. When she renews we will see a different show. That's what I think.

I’d love it if we got the new album in Q1 of 2019, Céline adds a couple of the songs to Vegas, does promo in Feb-March. Final leg of “Céline” in April-May. Summer tour in the US and Canada. Fall 2019, new Vegas show more in line with the style of the Summer tours.

Like I said earlier, there have been mentions during her Asian press tour this January that this residency ends in 2019 and they're (still) looking at options for the future (even at different venues in Vegas).

 

I'm also sure she will keep performing in Vegas until she ends her career, but my feeling says this residency will end in (May/June) 2019. 8 years of this show is also quite enough and she needs to do something different for her next residency.

I think a safe option would be announcing that this residency ends in 2019 — but then go ahead and also announce she will be returning with a brand new show in the future. (after a tour and a break)

 

Mariah has already had multiple shows - granted, I don’t think ticket sales have matched Celine.

 

That way it won’t feel so final — like “Celine Dion is leaving Vegas”.
