Hi all, someone posted some 'news' (NOT confirmed!!!) from 'an inside source' from Sony on Facebook, it's about the Vegas show (renewal or not), tour plans, the English album, releasing / broadcasting tours, etc

Literally everything we'd like to know. Question is if anything is true of course.... Maybe it's fake, no idea.

I think we all need a break from Lv shows to get caught up with BILLS, and do stuff that is on my bucket list of to do other things/ places

I totally agree.

And... I’d like her to stay as well.

But I do think something has to change in Vegas, change the show. She should put as much energy and creativity in that show, as she did with the 2016 tour and maybe the other tours. I feel, and that’s just my opinion, that Vegas is there on the sideline at this moment.

That Vegas residency is something amazing that René has created for her, at Caesars, for the rest of her life. That should be cherished. She has so many possibilities, she can come with a fantastic show, with HER songs, some greatest hits, some never before performed songs of HER, some new arrangements, some surprises (OK, maybe a cover, if she likes that),... A real Céline show. That, in my opinion, would already make such a difference. Next to that, she could every now and then, do a mini tour. But not too much at the same time. The past years she’s been doing so many things at the same time, a little bit too much I think. That’s probably also her coping mechanism, but at the expense of her Vegas show. A lot of songs were cut, it was cancelled a few times, some fans are saying that it’s boring,... etc. While that residency is something so special, also for the future. She shouldn’t just throw that away. At least, that’s my opinion.

I loooooove the tours as well. So maybe less shows in Vegas would work better?

 

And why another hotel? Because Caesars is not doing so well financially? Would that influence her? People will come to her show anyway. I just wonder what René would think about that and if he has discussed any of that with Céline before he passed. They seem to have such a long bond with Caesars. For the short term she could maybe get a better deal with another hotel, but for the long term? I don’t know what’s better. There’s also loyalty. Personally I would find it so strange to see her at another hotel in Vegas, for me Céline is Caesars. But hey, who am I..

 

Time will tell what will happen.

It would be so nice, if just for once, we would hear something well in advance, so that we can make plans as well.

But knowing her team.... It’s always a last minute thing. And full of surprises.

Las Vegas is doing bad overall, almost all hotels are shitting them selves. They are putting more fees on tourists lately like parking fees in the garages. It used to be free to park at the hotels. Then the resort fees, the most unreasonable fees ever.

 

But Céline "owns" The Colosseum and it would be weird to see her somewhere else. I hope she won't go to Planet Hollywood. Their theater sucks!

Initially I was a little sad I didn't have much of a chance to say much to Celine when I met her. Time was super tight. They were very behind schedule that night. But after reading some other meet and greets stories from other fan bases I am extremely grateful. Celine if people recall had a very bad viral infection just before I met her. She had canceled two weeks worth of shows and I can tell you she was still sick when I met her. You could hear her voice. We had been pre-warned that she was sick and was a bit cautious. I had told her brother I understood that she was sick and I would never want to overstep or make her feel uncomfortable but that all I wanted was a hug photo. He said well then ask her when it's your turn and see how she feels. I still have no idea how she knew who I was before she even got the intro when we met. But just when I thought she couldn't shock me more when it came time to take my solo pic after Celine insisted she wanted a photo with my mom I hesitated not knowing what to do. Before I even had a second to think Celine had scooped me up into a semi hug. I was floored. It was like she knew what I wanted without me saying. I was left shell shocked. As my mom turns to tell her how big a fan i am cause you see nothing was coming out of me. My mouth had dropped to the floor HER people gave us our things. Celine turned and looked at them looking utterly confused at what they were doing. So to be CLEAR Celine NEVER rushed us it was her people. Had she been able to she would have spent another minute with us. Thank god they did or else the show would have started at 8pm So I am super grateful that even sick she was so kind I've read other celebs won't even shake your hand if they are sick let alone shake hands and then give a semi hug. Come on no doubt Celine is way different then some other celebs! I must add the only other person I've met is Kelly Clarkson and she was as sweet and caring and gracious and never once rushed us either and we got to talk to her for so long because we were last. This time it sorta worked against me since I was first but still no complaints.

 

People who read my initial review of the meet and greet must think this is a change well yes but that's cause with time and speaking with my mom many times things have come back to me that I had initially forgotten about in the moment. Also with time you really are able to see how lucky you were especially after I read some horror meet and greet stories from other fan bases.

 

See!! I went last for my meet & greet with Celine and it was the best thing ever!!! My mom and I each got our own personal moments with her plus a combined mom and son duo at the end :clap: We got three turns out of her

She may take a break, rest, work more on her "at home living" line (hand bags, etc...) but I do NOT think this is her very last LV show. Hopefully, she can take time to reassess and spruce up the show. It is a bit boring right now. She needs new stuff, but I don't think she'll be out of the spot light for too long....she can't! It's in her DNA. LOL These mini tours are fun for her and not too strenuous on the children, but she will not do a world tour when her kids are still so young, nor will she break with LV. So....Let's hope for a new and improved show!!! Love it!

It was Grey with different colors on it if I remember correctly.

My favourite daily culture program, CBC Radio's Q, had a piece today about the history of Vegas residencies.

Of course, they rightfully gave Celine credit for the revival.

Meantime, when I quizzed Caesars and AEG chiefs about the 2019 extension, they admitted that the specifics were “news to us,” but “we always want to talk with Rene about more shows.”

Rene summed up with the Montreal showbiz writer: “We did not hesitate to extend our residency several years. This is an ideal situation for Celine. We do not have to travel far. We have our home there, and the schedule was made based around school for Rene-Charles. It was a no brainer. Celine loves the show there.”
