This is such fantastic news. Everything about Vegas had gotten stale and boring. World Tour 2020 (including the USA!!!!) with a new album and then a nice long break to be with the kids and let her voice recover would be tremendous.

Ngl, a part of me is too. But i can tell how emotional shes gonna be on the 8th of June, TEARS girl TEARS.

 

Im still giggling about how people really think that at this stage in her life, Celines about to pop off and do a 130 date world tour like girl.... no, sorry, next

Weird how happy we can be with news that she is quitting Vegas.

 

I smell new single soon, new album, and a US mini tour, or a mini tour around the world.

 

It's time. Glad the decision has been made. I hope beyond hope that this news doesn't mean she's simply moving to another Vegas hotel. I hope these final shows really ARE the final Vegas shows.

 

That's the problem guys, that they don't specifically say she's DONE with Vegas, they say the SECOND production comes to an end. But a third show will come more the probably, sooner or later :doh: :ermm: :down:

 

That's why I don't jump in ecstasy, because Vegas will be chasing her again with another contract. But in the meantime, let's hope she doesn't come back for at least 10 years or so!! :giggle: :wub:

I hope that this means that she will now release one or two albums a year and tour the world with creative concerts on a regular basis! :)

I think so too. Let’s not all forget that “Céline” though it was revamped was the LAST production that Rene worked on, so that chapter will now close forever. Honestly that’s the reason I truly believe that Céline has kept this show as long as she did instead of ending and returning with a new show long ago.

Curious how many people are thinking about going to the June 7/8th shows? Is there a chance to have a huge fan gathering? I absolutely loved it when I went in March 2011 for opening night and then in Aug. 2015. It's like we all descended on Vegas! Celine shirts everywhere.

 

Well maybe finally tour the USA after 10 years!! I don't know about a World Tour...I wish though. Anyways, how soon would the USA/Canada mini tour be? I want to multiple shows if possible. Hopefully, they won't be as expensive as her new tickets have been! Ahhh....

I am not surprised to hear that the residency is ending, but I am a bit sad about, to be honest. I know how many various opinions there are about Las Vegas, but I always kind of liked the stability of knowing she was there. That said, I am excited to see what is in store. I do hope that this change is reinvigorating, and it certainly does seem to line up with an album release early/mid 2019...

Well if we read CELINES words, shes definately making it sound final : “Las Vegas has become my home, and the Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a big part of my life over the last 2 decades. Its been an amazing experience and im so grateful to all the fans who hve come to see us throughout the years.... blah blah blah..... . and right up until the final one”

Since she'll end her residency show next year.. She should sing christmas songs this coming christmas like in A New Day.

Not even CELINE in the 90s released 2 albums a year and toured constantly... jesus shes 50 remember

OMG Finally!! Let Celines career commence!!

 

Everything has been on hold for so many years and now she can get back to focusing on albums and other projects!

I am for one really surprised tho. I’m not mad about it, I’m happy she’ll be gone at least for a bit but I think Caesars needs her, I’m surprised they didn’t double her salary to keep her. Wouldn’t surprise me if they are in talks with getting Elton back, or possible Adele will finally get her residency?

I feel like everyone knew after AND that she would be back, i mean she was hinting at it as early as 2009, but the way shes worded this....

 

 

 

 

I can imagine peoples face if at the concert on June 8th, 2019 she says “Now that this is over, im taking a break. Ill be gone 2, 3 years maybe. But dont worry ill be back with an album and a tour, but mamas gotta rest first”.

As for the album date (sorry u mentioned it in another post,). I believe it will be coming during spring time, during her break between April and May, so that its then Wrap up Vegas and tour

I think she forgot this now due to the overperforming activity and that's why she doesn't approach new things on her career, because she has been offered to play "safe" all the time with her Vegas contracts. You BET some Caesars Palace executives already know the answer to that question? ;) I'm more than sure some bigwigs there and at her production company in Vegas have already been hinted "if" she'll be back, and maybe the "when" too.

I think she forgot this now due to the overperforming activity and that's why she doesn't approach new things on her career, because she has been offered to play "safe" all the time with her Vegas contracts. I just genuinely think at this point that she doesnt give a rats *ss about keeping up with younger artists and recording constantly

 

(and it was even obvious in the early/mid 90s she said “concerts, live singing, fans are my passion. The music is a plus” )

But no, i truly think that shes come to accept that Vegas is over. RCs starting college and the kids are going to be 7 soon so she knows what time it is. I think she will still live in between Vegas and Montreal, however i feel that the Caesars chapter in particular, is over

I’d love that but I don’t think Céline EVER embraced or like the “studio” she has always been a live performer, whereas Streisand for Example is the polar opposite.
