and why would they show a recording session of it with Babyface?

Like I said there was probably a new arrangement around the vocal and didn’t he not produce another song or two on the album. Perhaps they didn’t like her vocals and resorted back to this one from the archives.

I stumbled across the Grammy performance on YouTube one night and thought it sounded remarkably similar to the album version so I listened to that straight after and it is exactly the same. Someone who has a good ear for these things should give them both a listen.

Exactly. "We just wanted to hear her hits"... which is what she did for the last two nights - incredibly high energy, and a great mix of uptempo and ballads. I would say add "Taking Chances," replace "At Seventeen" with "If You Asked Me To," add back in "I Drove All Night," and a couple of new songs from the new album, and the show could be perfect for Vegas and die-hards.

I agree. They have the capabilities to make the lighting and stage as good as this show they should do it.

I just wish they’d move either IA or TTWII to the final encore before MHWGO.

The energy of the audience has been nuts and Celine and Scott should notice, it seems like Celine enjoyed the audience reaction from that bootleg.

I think Céline and Scott have no choice to acknowledge the fan reaction to full versions of IA and TTWII. Also as much as I love IS, it's not an opening that every person in the colosseum knows where as TPOL is, fans and non fans alike all know TPOL. Also TLYM will always be a fan and public favorite. In addition of PQTME over an unknown French song!

Yes. I remember saying even last tour that the biggest reaction besides think twice was TTWII. Realistically, its her third biggest song after mhwgo and bylm. Its on par with iacbtmn and more popular than batb, abm, or tpol, or wdmhbn and others. Im not talking about numbers, stats and charts. I'm talking about the legacy of how i feel songs are remembered 20 yesrs later. My friends who have no celine interest always know those 3 songs.

Ttwii has not deserved to of been ignored as long as it was. Because of that, we accepted the watered down boring acoustic version that has been drug along for 3 years now....this should have been recycled after the may 2016 shows. An acoustic section like this provides the easiest way to consistently change or rotate songs....why this opportunity never was taken advantage of i don't know. Very disappointing at the lack of direction that has went into updating the vegas show. I would have loved idan acoustic or maybe iacbtmn. The possibilities with this section is endless, but the magic is only limited to updating the section for tours??? WHY!!! Why not have 10+ songs prepared that rotate? Good way to keep the show fresh and different. Encourages us addicts to repeat visit. Currently with song removals and speech increases there's not much getting me back to this watered down show that has became a fragment of what i witnessed opening night 3 years ago. Let's build to make it better, but steadily it has become so inferior to what it was. The regular song list is a joke.

She freed 2 out 3 songs out of the boring medley which all deserve to be... let’s hope ANDHC follows next...

Tho still hope they take it out of the medley soon, I must admit the new arrangement is waaaay better for ANDHC then the normal Vegas one!

Baby steps...lol let’s pray ANDHC is next to shine!

I agree she treats LCMM and RDMH like they are fan favs or hits lol while she squeezed 3 hits ANDHC ,TTWII , IA into a watered down medley. I’ll never understand the logic. I’m for a medley but just not those songs they deserve to shine.

It's definitely not the same vocal. I just listened to the first line, of both the Grammy performances and album recording and there are clear differences.

Not to get too technical, but in "I learned the truth at seventeen, that love was meant for beauty queens," she hits the "I" much harder in the album version, and comes in probably a quarter beat later in the Grammy performance, and it sounds more like "eh learned the truth..." (if that makes sense haha)

Also she swoops down on the word "meant" on the album version, but doesn't do the same on the Grammy version. There's also a break in her voice at the end of the word "retire" on the Grammy performance.

In the section "And those of us with ravaged faces..." she sings on the album version in much more full voice, where the Grammy performance as a breathier quality to it.

It's one of her "sleeper hits" - I think TLYM has this same distinction (at least in the US).

Really?? I may not like it, but rehearsing still makes sense..

Example of when a playback was not rehearsed (rehearsals were actually LIVE)...treat her like a lady at JAMAICA was such a hot mess....she did not rehearse and all the adlibs had escaped her mind and it was sloppy.

Exactly. And in a medley of just 3 songs, there shouldn't be a filler. She recently cut I DROVE ALL NIGHT, what if she included a ballad version of IDAN to replace AT17? I think it could work well, then we'd have IDAN, ANDHC and Unison... i bet it be very similar to that Chrysler commercial that was beautifully song into a ballad.

The hate towards "At 17" seems to be quite universal on this board. But this song is not a filler at all. It's one of the most meaningful and daring song (as there's no repetitive chorus) she has ever recorded.

Probably there's none but if any concept was linked to this medley , Unison would be the filler. ANDHC and At 17 are personal songs and talk about life struggles. Unison is just a random song, lyrically.

We even read that At 17 should be kicked out as it's a cover... as a reminder : Unison is as well.

The fact is At 17 is already the most adventurous song she has done : how many versions do we have? the guitar version, the bossa nova one , the quartet one, the one from the Grammy.

This song is despised because it's not mainstream , not because it's a filler.

Re the Grammy's performance of At 17, I've said this before on here in a post, this performance is pre-recorded, it's the exact same vocal that ended up on the LMBTL Album, honestly listen to it, it's exactly the same...the breaths, the way she pronounces certain words, everything.

I believe they used that same pre-recorded vocal and put a new arrangement to it for the CD.

I believe it's all Scott, Denis, Yves, AEG, and her current "management" (still Dave?). And a bit of Céline (with a big help/push from Scott)..

Fire him. He enjoys his checks for just having his name on the show and does no work in maintaining the show.

I think Scott Price is a genius and is more daring than both Ken Erlich and Celine. She should trust her conductor and let him produce the shows, I’d bet we’d see lots of pleasant changes, that man isn’t afraid of change and just about so far every change he did in arrangements from megos have been brilliant.

Ken is good when it comes to new projects, or doing “one night only” specials like award shows. However, he absolutely sucks when it comes to ongoing shows like “Celine.”

Haven’t read the forum the last days, but what a great surprise! Tour-Céline live in Vegas, Very Very Nice, love the songs. She is great! When you go to the Vegas Show and get this concert, you must think it was a dream.

She doesn't and to tell the truth , it's a compliment. Because when we see some first performances, if this was previously rehearsed , then I don't want to know how was the first time she sang it.

I meant it in a good way.

It's not an alternative fact, you don't have the proof of the contrary either.

I remember when she came back for the first show after René's death, she said on stage she rehearsed the song in her closet. My opinion is that it's like that for all the songs.

Side note: I’ve always had a vision of Celine performing a medley I call “The Seduction Medley.” This medley would incorporate songs such as: “Seduces Me,” “Falling Into You,” “Naked,” “Reveal,” and “If Walls Could Talk.” Not all of those songs, but a good sampling of some of them would be included.

I'm glad Mego was at the show last night and not the show two weeks ago with the usual cringeworthy set. What he saw last night he will know was something amazing and outside of his realm. Not to sound rude. lol I like Mego, but I much prefer Scott and these teaser shows are much more in line with the excitement Scott has brought.

yes, they took 3 amazing, successfull and great uptempo songs and turned them into a boring medley... what on earth were they thinking. A medley is fine, but they should pick other type of songs for it, like Naked (would sound amazing with the guitars) or the ballad version of IDAN (the UK radio remix). Songs like IA, ANDHC and TTWII deserve to be performed in the original lenght.

I really enjoyed the French medley on the 2016 tour. That was a great song selection.
