Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

For the last 2 tours, we didn't know anything about the setlists.

Everyone involved acted all mysterious and wouldn't answer fan questions.

Remember we even had to try to decipher the setlist in some grainy picture? (good times )

 

And now they 'spoil' all the surprises?

I could be completely wrong, but I'm not sure I buy it.

 

I think we're still in for a few surprises, despite the hints we've been given.

 

Also, some things just seem unfinished to me.

Take the dance with Pepe for one.

Now that I've seen Brendan's footage (thank you so much btw!), I do actually enjoy the dance. But it needs a few tweaks to make it flow more.

Like someone else said: Maybe a few other couples dancing would be nice addition? (could be locals every time, it's not too complex).

And a different outfit (maybe even a different dancer, who knows? )

 

Speaking of outfits, some of you must've forgotten that most of the clothes from the last 2 tours were average to terrible.

This time around I actually adore the 'shocking pink' dress (at least the front).

And I like the little green/silver/pink one, it's spunky.

The black one is standard but looks nice on her.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me if she showed up in Asia with entirely different outfits.

Remember a lot of the Copenhaguen outfits only lasted for 1 or a few shows...

 

Her and her team just finally got smart. They had rehearse the show and they HAD to fulfill a sold out Vegas show so finally someone why not rehearse as the Vegas show... its actually brillant on all ends, it saves time, it saves money and it gives them a chance to see audience reaction. I bet this is formula they use from now on! Also they probably figured the odds of one of the 8000 people who saw it in Vegas between the two nights is someone thats seeing her on tour is low, still keeping it fresh for them, but they underestimate the power of cell phones and social media.

I don’t know if anyone has Said this already, but I downloaded the audio of To Love You More from both night, the 8th and the 9th. Seperated them to one in my left earphone and one in the right and they are exactly the same. So it’s 100% prerecorded. If anyone is wondering

I hope they tease us a bit in the next weeks, and hopefully they add some songs to the setlist.

I saw that bandmembers were already back in Montreal, so I wonder if they are going to rehearse more. Or if this the setlist for the tour?

 

I like she does some dancing in her show, but what worked last year doesn't mean it will work this year.

Sometimes when they find out something is working,they will use it till they find something new.

 

Same goes for the medley. I LOVE the idea, the instruments (can't wait to see a whole show like that) but I HATE that they use songs who deserve full length performances, instead of being pushed into a medley.

 

If she want to do covers, well squeeze those into an acoustic medley and sing your own songs full!

Personally I think this wasn't smart of them. I have a few friends that bought tickets to the Tokyo show to get all the surprises first hand now they feel it's ruined for them. And that's how they feel.

 

I will be sitting home, waiting for videos and I feel the same, I would have preferred to see it on stage in Asia rather than in Vegas.

 

But I also have another friend that agrees with you. So there is no way poor Céline can please us all

I agree with you it does take a bit of the spark away from the tour. I’m just saying from the business side of things for Celine and her band/ orechestra it’s a brilliant idea, saves them time, energy and money.

It is smart, brilliant actually. Is it as exciting? No. But it does make sense, to save some time, money and physical strength as well as Celine’s voice.

 

Was that the last rehearsal before the tour probably not, but either way it helped kill two birds with one sfone as they say.

I watched both live streams on the 8th and 9th. Its not a new playback at all. The 8th she was very raspy on the “we’ll finddddd a wayyyyy” but she sustained it, where as on the 9th she was raspy but no where near as bad as the night before it. The video floating around on YouTube is not the 9th is just a rebrand of the performance from the 8th.

 

 

The only pre recorded bit is the final 2 long notes which were identical both nights. Apart from that it sounded completely live to me. The E5 note and following run were different

I wonder why they decided to bring the boring and bland visual for MHWGO from last year tour back? They should've kept it the same like last year tour, you know just use it for the climax. Also, it got me thinking, with a pink dress on, wouldn't it be beautiful if they use the visual from the first January show back in 2017 (the pink visual)?

After watching it again, it is from the 9th, thank you for the correction... which then brings up the other point. The vocals sound exactly the same to me both nights...

Yes! This might be a really unpopular opinion, but I just cannot figure out what the appeal of Pepe is. It was one thing when he joined the show for Le Ballet last year and brought some new energy, but now with FIY, it just seems so awkward to me. If there were more dancers, that would help, but it just seems to totally random to have him there for one song. At this point, it feels like he's just hanging on to her coattails, and they are just scrambling to find things to justify keeping him around.

 

And if he's involved in the fashion decisions, I am not impressed. The only outfit I actually like is the gold suit. The black TLYM dress is completely generic. The choir gown is an odd choice. I don't mind the pink MHWGO dress from the front, but the back with the illusion netting and rhinestones makes it look so cheap. The pink and green dress is fun, but I could take it or leave it.

 

Just because Pepe is artistic and interested in fashion doesn't make him an amazing stylist. I know a lot of people love his involvement, but if this is what he is bringing to the table creatively, I'm disappointed. But, then again, who knows, maybe he wasn't involved in any of the decision making...

 

I don't like those dresses, not because they look bad, is because they don't move natural and sexy with her body, like should do

I don’t like those clothes she’s wearing and I don’t like the dancing with Pepe at all. She’s is so stiff that I just can’t deal with it. I really don’t get why if he is a professional dancer couldn’t teach her how to move her hips. I’m pretty sure they practiced the choreography many times.

Let me rephrase that: yeah it is smart, but not original or unique. But like I said: I applaud them for having the balls to do this.

 

My guess is that the 2 try-out shows were the last rehearsals in Vegas. Everyone is on a break now until a few days before the 26th (probably with 2 more rehearsals left on the 25th and 26th). I think Céline will still be doing some “work” this week (shoots? album?) and then have a break until June 24.
