I really hope you’re right!!!

 

I think Céline and Scott have no choice to acknowledge the fan reaction to full versions of IA and TTWII. Also as much as I love IS, it's not an opening that every person in the colosseum knows where as TPOL is, fans and non fans alike all know TPOL. Also TLYM will always be a fan and public favorite. In addition of PQTME over an unknown French song!

They have new tracks for some songs, so it makes sense to practice them and get familiar with them.

Really?? I may not like it, but rehearsing still makes sense..

 

Example of when a playback was not rehearsed (rehearsals were actually LIVE)...treat her like a lady at JAMAICA was such a hot mess....she did not rehearse and all the adlibs had escaped her mind and it was sloppy.

Really?? I may not like it, but rehearsing still makes sense..

 

Example of when a playback was not rehearsed (rehearsals were actually LIVE)...treat her like a lady at JAMAICA was such a hot mess....she did not rehearse and all the adlibs had escaped her mind and it was sloppy.

 

It's a mess to lip a song with adlibs period. She's not really good at it.

Don't forget - she has to rehearse it with the orchestra as well and those rehearsals would cost money. Now, I'm sure they had some sort of real rehearsal with the orchestra but it makes sense, from a business point of view, to do a rehearsal or two during a performance of the vegas show when the orchestra is already there receiving a salary! :giggle:

The performance of “At Seventeen” was nice, but far from memorable. It screams filler to me.

I didn’t get why they chose At 17 at first, but when I considered all the songs in the medley, methodically, it’s pure genius. At 17 is a raw emotional song about a girl who doesn’t like the way she looks and is very conscious of her appearance. ANDHC is a song, that for me, has always been about letting what happened in the past stay in the past, and that when the new day comes, there’s still hope on the horizon. And Unison says that with someone, it’ll be good and okay. You’ll do it together and it’ll be as perfect as it can be. I see what they’re going for there!

Exactly. And in a medley of just 3 songs, there shouldn't be a filler. She recently cut I DROVE ALL NIGHT, what if she included a ballad version of IDAN to replace AT17? I think it could work well, then we'd have IDAN, ANDHC and Unison... i bet it be very similar to that Chrysler commercial that was beautifully song into a ballad.

I understood the reasoning, too. Lyrically it makes perfect sense. Musically, however, it seems lackluster and forgettable, in my opinion.

I had to listen to at 17 a few times to like it. I think the only thing hanging me up from absolutely adoring it is that the strings and her don’t melodically mix well, but I do think it’s Beautiful in its own right!

Oh no 13 musicians isn't everyone which probably means when she returns to Vegas in October it will be back to the status quo.

Re the Grammy’s performance of At 17, I’ve said this before on here in a post, this performance is pre-recorded, it’s the exact same vocal that ended up on the LMBTL Album, honestly listen to it, it’s exactly the same...the breaths, the way she pronounces certain words, everything.

 

I believe they used that same pre-recorded vocal and put a new arrangement to it for the CD.

After listening to I’m alive again in the normal arrangement, that song should never be part of a medley again, too much energy and the crowd went nuts! Come on Celine listen to the crowd they love TTWII and IA out of the medley. Now if we can just free ANDHC next it’ll be heaven! Edited by Nmj

Thank you for the audio of last night, cannot wait to hear it! I agree with a previous poster, I LOVE I urrender but I don't think it should be the opening song. I adore that song, but there's another place in the show where I think I would do better. Not sure where, :laugh: but I almost know there is. I think the first song should be either somethinv current, something upbeat and fast, or something that even nonfans or casual fans would know!

The audience anticipation during the amazing intro to TPOL and then to IACBTMN was unbelievable. Also the reaction to TLYM - people seemed so excited to hear it again.

Listening to the audio, it's incredible to me the amount of energy and excitement from the crowd. I think this proves that she needs to do a more "concert-style" show in Vegas. The audience anticipation during the amazing intro to TPOL and then to IACBTMN was unbelievable. Also the reaction to TLYM - people seemed so excited to hear it again.

 

People also went nuts for IA. Remember what they said about a new day...

Exactly. "We just wanted to hear her hits"... which is what she did for the last two nights - incredibly high energy, and a great mix of uptempo and ballads. I would say add "Taking Chances," replace "At Seventeen" with "If You Asked Me To," add back in "I Drove All Night," and a couple of new songs from the new album, and the show could be perfect for Vegas and die-hards.
