I need a dramatic ending and an epic Celine pose at the end.

 

Not this poor and weak end

That long note is difficult for her to sing live :(. It will be more comfortable doing the studio version.

Climbing in USA as well, now 147!

 

This is way better than the debut of LMBTL

 

She hasn't had a TOP 40 hit in the US since 2003.

Maybe this could change her luck!

IDAN was not Top 40 on Billboard Hot 100. #45 it was. :pinch:

And actually, this new version is growing on me. I even dared to share it on FB (not one of my friend's has liked it so far, surprise surprise)

The chipmunk orgasm.. I'm not comfortable with that at all.. If it's meant to be like a scream, it's not a proper scream. I feel like they're like... trying to hide a bad note with the violin...

 

With a song like this, it should be ALL about the VOICE! All about CELINE. Huge orchestra and THE VOICE.

This could very well chart in Canada and France, especially in Canada.

The single is doing nicely, #17 in both countries without any promo yet.

But, I believe, for a casual listener this version is great. I think. For me it's not enough because I've heard her do so much better on bootlegs!

 

ETA. I mean, I'm not as shocked as I was when I first heard it and now the track is "just fine" in my CelineRatingScale :D For me ABM, TPOL and IACBTMN are the ultimate covers that Celine makes her own.. this falls close to Alone.. A karaoke. Though Alone has better production. Ugh. I want to get over this negativity of mine :D I'm gonna shut up now.

 

This version is FINE and Celine will slay it on Sunday (if she doesn't mime..)

Yes... the casual listener. That's a great point. Sometimes I think we get so caught up in our own little celinedionforum world that we forget we're really not the majority of Celine's fans.... she has millions of casual-listening fans and they will probably love the crap out of this release.

 

(EDIT: For the record I'm starting to love the crap out of this release too :wub:)

Ok. So I was a bit dramatic last night. It's really grown on me. And I'm kinda digging the wail in the middle. It makes sense to me. It's pain. It's real. Everyone is praising it outside of us.

I'm used to hearing this song so flawlessly that now with the studio hearing imperfections seems weird to me. I'm sure I'll get used to it by Sunday though

I am gobsmacked how many people dislike this studio version. I LOVE it. And why do so many people think it's autotuned from the live version? You can tell it's a new studio version because her diction is different. Listen carefully!! Maybe some elements are borrowed. I love the violin too. Now there's a chance it could be a hit, people are all over it all of a sudden. I guess the best fans are just super critical.

I won't. I think it's a brilliant comeback and perfectly apt. Guys give her some credit please!! I personally did not expect two brand new singles in the space of a week only four months after Réné's passing.

It doesn't grow on me unfortunately. After listening to it today I couldn't believe that they released this for real. I found the I Drove All Night ballad Version so much more beautiful, also productionwise, although it was just a mix, and it never was officially released Edited by ryba

Well there goes my patience with this release after I read on another forum people claiming she's cashing in on Rene's death by releasing this.... :wacko: I had to explain to them she's been doing this song since 2008!
