Well, my theory is out the window about it being an older vocal, I just saw the 5/17/16 performance and she does the screech now. What in the crap did she start doing that for? It sounds a little more placed in the live version, and a little less like a bird getting run over, but I still can't believe they put that in the studio version.

Actually what she does live is her guitar imitation... With "distortion"... But she went too far in the recording!

Might sound weird and funny, but I've heard her do way better screeches than that!!!

 

I have listened to it loads now and I think that screech should have been lower & shorter and maybe the violin should have been louder in that part of the song... So basically bad mixing/production from who ever was given the job.

 

But yeah it sounds a lot better turned up loud, and I will admit, maybe it is such a shock to the system because in studio albums, we are use to pitch perfect, perfection from her, so it takes a while to adjust to this on this track.

 

Just worried about the screech on Sunday night!

 

#screechgate lol.

Ok if this does better on the charts than LMBTL, it's because there's more publicity around it.

It's certainly not because the quality is better... :unsure:

It's ironic how when she does covers she mostly use the same arrangement as the original and when she doesn't , it's worse.

 

I mean..."the show must go on" has one of the most beautiful, dramatic and known intro...and they turned it into a mellow violin one.

 

Jezzz...aren't they tired of violin ? They did the same thing with "Alone".

 

Why didn't they do a duet with Brian May?

 

I don't hear any rock , rage or whatsoever in this version. Only autotune, nasality, weird pronunciation, lazy vocals.

 

Why don't we have the credits?

 

I want to know who I have to blame beside Céline who let this coming out. Who was the cowards guys who didn't tell anything?

 

It's funny how some of you say " it's growing on me"...of course, it is. I listened 2 times and I won't do it again.

We get used to everything. Even the worse.

I don't want myself to say after 20 plays "oh at the end of the day, it's not that bad".

Because that's what happens...

 

It's bad and that's it.

i'm not hearing the screech as much as some people here, maybe i have a deficiency and and this frequency is absent from my hearing field (thank god i think) :giggle: Edited by québecflower

Yuck, yuck, yuck.

 

The Vegas version has been done better than that recording everyday since she started covering it in her show. What the heck....it sounds like what she released was a test run for the actual recording.

 

I wonder when it was recorded, because if it was in the throes of her grief, then it was an even more stupid decision. Sorry for the bad vibes, but I guess we'll look forward to her version on Sunday.

Yes! The Vegas version is amazing but after just listening to the Queen version it's very very similar .... I fact celine sounds more amazing on certain parts ..

I've thought of this since I first heard it yesterday. We could very well be in love with the version had we not heard the Vegas version.

 

Ok how strange is it to sound better on iTunes and played in the car full blast!? Ok I admit this is seriously growing on me and I'm turning away from the dark side.... :whee:

I agree, we need to leave the Vegas version for her Vegas show and for a possible live recording of the show down the road. The sooner we all accept this i think the happier we will all be.

Well yesterday I liked it. Today I'm starting to really like it. 😆😆😆

 

Her pronunciation is much better than her live performances, her screech is then mimicked by the violin, and ending it this way means that hopefully the entire performance will be live. No lipped final note.

Yes it could have been better in different ways. And I would have died if she'd teamed up with Brian May. But I'm glad they released this. And really glad and excited for the future. They're starting to move with the times.

Maybe the haters can try and forget the lv take on the song until Monday, then go back to Vegas mode? Lol

In certain parts she appears to have a New York accent... Lol

 

The first "for", "heart ache" and "butterflies"...

 

Love how she says "heart ache"... :)

 

Just thinking to, as it's not as uptempo a version as the Vegas version, I can't see her moving around much, so maybe she will wear something more fitting/elequent for the performance.

I think if she did the vegas version, critic's would be more negative because she didn't stick to the original... :-)

Celine does not need this kind of pity. I bet most of people who say they like dont even like it! Are just reverse supporting tô try tô change the looks of it. Sorry.
