right, Just imagine how EPIC it could be with the Beethoven version.

I think with Lindsey Stirling it'll be more popular amongst the charts and social media. But with the Beethoven version, it would've sounded much better with more media attention.

Who says it will only be Lindsey?? Yes she'll be alongside her but I doubt it will be just her. The only thing I hope they don't do is try to auto-tune her live....

Just listening again to the studio version vs live. I honestly can't believe people think it's the same vocal auto-tuned. I'm shocked true Céline fans would think this. And what the hell is wrong with the production exactly? The violin is a fantastic addition. The screechy guitars from the TC tour would have sounded dated. Somebody's on the money here with this production. In the context of Réné's passing, the violin is a more bittersweet and appropriate accompaniment. Bravo Team Céline.

Because Brian May is an aging astrophysicist and, sad to say, most of those actually watching the Billboard Awards don't have a clue who he is.

 

Lindsey Stirling, on the other hand, has a huge fan following in exactly the right demographics. She's young, she's edgy, and she's exactly what Celine needs if she wants to refresh her image, so to speak.

Lindsey won Artist of the Year at last year's YTMAs, Best Dance/ Electronic BBMA, and as I mentioned in another thread, has 8x as many YT subscribers as Celine.

And she charted just as high with her last album as Celine did with LMBTL.

The girl's good, and she matters. I wouldn't be surprised if she's half (or more) of the reason this TSMGO single is charting as high as it is today.

I feel bad, I should have not reacted like this yesterday, I overreacted, ok it's not the best production and finally I think it's powerfull, it was a trap, and I am sure it was the idea of Aldo, well done ! :hmm: We have to get use to this drought voice, and it mixed well with the violon... I just hope she will sing it LIVE, because if it's the case, it will be EPIC !

I was reading comments on different websites saying there was no emotion in her interpretation of the song... I don't understand... After all she went through this year, it's almost impossible to sing it without any emotion!!! Go Celine Go! I hope she will make a phenomal come back at the BBMA's!!! :)

they are referring to the version that was released to itunes before Rene died.

Well, my theory is out the window about it being an older vocal, I just saw the 5/17/16 performance and she does the screech now. What in the crap did she start doing that for? It sounds a little more placed in the live version, and a little less like a bird getting run over, but I still can't believe they put that in the studio version.

 

She's been doing that F#5 literally, I'm pretty sure, since opening night. Yes, a couple performance she sang that adlib like she did in 2008, but MOST she has transitioned up to f#5. Not sure why everyone is acting like they haven't heard this before. Maybe this song is just a song I listen to in all the bootlegs and clips so I know this already, I'm just shocked how many people are unfamiliar with that note.

 

As for people claiming vocals came frm end of tcwt, let's not forget that she didn't even perform this song the last probably 3 months or so of the tour? I honestly don't know where the vocal came from, but keep that on mind when thinking about the end of TCWT.

 

One thing I do like about this version is she actually sings "the show must go on" when the chorus hits. I'm not crazy about how in vegas version the background singers sing it and she just stands there. I'm not sure with this different arrangement if it would be even more weird for her to not sing that. It adds some grit to it for me. Back in Africa 2008 she sang the song that way.

I think some people were speculating that the vocals came after the TCWT when she re-dubbed some of the songs in the studio.

The vocals are new... for sure... you can hear her tired voice of 2016.

I only can't accept this was recorded at a studio. Maybe she sang it on stage without the audience before the concert in a more "relaxed" way.. to the instrumental track and that's the take that was edited.

I just bought the digital single off iTunes. The main gripe I have with the song is how the tempo of Celine's vocals doesn't seem to match that of the instrumentation. It sounds as if her vocals were purposely slowed for some reason. Do I find this song to be the worst of her catalog? No. However, it still doesn't blow me away. C'est la vie.
