Javito Posted January 20, 2019 at 12:50 PM Posted January 20, 2019 at 12:50 PM The 2016 and 2018 compilation albums are both her biggest joke-releases in her whole career. Un peu de nous tried to pass on a live CD from the 2017 tour and so did the same the shameful 2018 "tour edition" disc, which was clearly made to confuse the buyer with that cover of Céline on the stage, thinking he was buying a live CD but it was again all studio recordings I felt so embarrassed of her record label to release such albums. Wasn't her voice good enough to release live recordings during these tours? I don't think René would have approved this 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Regardless of the dubbing and re-recordings that were done for these releases, we still talk about two "different" concerts on CD and DVD. That was a genuine live release, at least for the general audience. Us fans, of course we noticed what they had done. But what really ticked me off is that they had eliminated all the live ad libs, turning it into basically different sounding versions of the studio versions. Removed ad libs in shadow of love,Fade away,je sais pas,all by myself, taking chances, because you loved me... even scaled down and removed alot of ad libs from Its a mans world and i got a feelin. Like the pre recorded tracks were also re recorded, taking the entire atmosphere out of it as well as removing all audience noise, isolating her vocals and poor instrumental quality. I despise that DVD/CD But i LURVEEEE USF, minimal editing... shame it wasnt recorded on a far better night vocally like in Paris 1 Quote

I mean if the problem is that she has just reached saturation point with her singing and can't find the motivation, I'd rather she just took a few years off and came back with new material than kept going with the same show. Madonna released an album 4 years apart (2008-2012) 3 years apart (2012-2015) and then 4 years apart again.... (2015-2019) Youve literally just proven my point. Its 3. And including her french albums thats another 3.... so in 15 years shes released 6 albums, if we divide 15 by 6 that’s roughly an album every 2.5 years not including multiple live releases and a documentary..... soooooooooo And i see youre putting madonnas just in a list where as listing celines in chronological order For madonna 2008 hard candy2009201020112012 MDNA201320142015 Rebel heart2016201720182019 suspected release doesnt look much better Celine : 2007 TC and Delles2008 2009201020112012 Sans Attendre2013 LMBTL20142015 2016 EUS2017 20182019 suspected release Edited January 28, 2019 at 08:47 PM by Dion2000 1 Quote

scielle Posted January 29, 2019 at 02:32 AM Posted January 29, 2019 at 02:32 AM (edited) What is really frustrating to me is we know she's recording stuff - and has been for at least 2.5 years! - but Sony's not releasing it.I can only imagine how many tracks she cut since starting to work on this; tracks we'll probably never hear. I know there may well be a plethora of very good reasons - but it's super frustrating, given that they're been talking about it as imminent for 2.5 years now! (Recall Recovering came out in fall of 2016, and was billed at the time as the first song from her upcoming English album.) I worry Sony is trying to concoct "the perfect album" and that it'll end up being a hodge-podge devised in a lab by a bunch of execs, to cover every possible demographic... stripping it of any real cohesive artistic intuition. Hopefully the new, "I speak up now!" Celine, can prevent that from happening. It's quite clear the album, as a format, is pretty much dead anyway. Streaming has completely changed consumption habits and most listening these days is done on a by-track basis and via playlisting. (Even for a super-successful album like Drake's Scorpion, with its 25 tracks, 63% of global streams come from just 3 songs.)So if you can't get a full record together, just let us have a track or two, ffs! This new interview suggests that maybe it was her decision to wait until Vegas is over and she can turn the page. If so, then hopefully that means it was more of an artistic, not a business decision. Anyway, Sony is releasing its next quarterly earnings on Feb 1 - maybe we'll know more then. Edited January 29, 2019 at 02:33 AM by scielle Quote
mirage Posted January 29, 2019 at 08:34 PM Posted January 29, 2019 at 08:34 PM Same goes for that she said the industry is changing (again) So maybe they are trying to figure out what will work now for Celine. Noticed her telling her team that she would rather do this, or that. I think that has also changed a lot where the album direction goes and when it's getting released. She is doing whatever she wants now. But it makes me sad she doesn't tell much about her new record and songs, and plans for her Hyde Park show. This new interview suggests that maybe it was her decision to wait until Vegas is over and she can turn the page. If so, then hopefully that means it was more of an artistic, not a business decision. Katie Posted April 2, 2019 at 11:05 PM Posted April 2, 2019 at 11:05 PM Just for this, once again Thanks dear gentleman! Acknowledging her privilege as a woman and advocating for ourselves:"To be honest, did I ever feel that I was not being treated appropriately and fairly? Maybe it did happen, but all my life I've been having so much protection. René always surrounded me with the best people in the world, and I've been so protected that it never reached the other side of the fence. But I know for sure, for a fact, that women were not treated appropriately for so long. And I think it's up to all of us to speak out. We cannot remain silent because we cannot be a prisoner of ourselves. And if we count on society to help us, it won't happen. I'm sorry. If you look at the society, do you think we're sailing well? I don't think so. I'm saying it; It's not pretty. The smartest people for us are ourselves." https://www.buzzfeed.com/essencegant/celine-dion-loreal-spokeswoman-campaign 2 Quote
