Céline decided only thursday to do the AMA,s..... So Annie Horth had vey little time to order the outfit from Europe. Annie had an idea of the dress, she has seen it this spring. They wanted to have a french house like Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent , and they ordered more than one. They had little time because it takes at least 48 hours to receive the clothes, so not before saturday , Letting them very little time to do the touch up, The dress Celine was supposed to wear was stuck at custom, very stressful But They ordered also the Elie Saab dress who has her collection in Paris, and since he is lebanese and they have been attacked the week before, it was fitting also, So they made all the fitting during the night (saturday to sunday) . It is Céline and René who made the decision about the song, it was not an order from the AMA's...It was Scott Price and his orchestra on the stage with her, him too had little time to make the arrangements. Popular Post RTafuri Posted November 24, 2015 at 03:43 AM Popular Post Posted November 24, 2015 at 03:43 AM I don't know if anybody mentioned it, but I posted it on my facebook page and I'd like to share it here as well. It's sad that this presentation happened because so many lives were mercilessly taken away in Paris and I think this is a wound that will take some time to heal. With that said... I'm Brazilian, which means I observe American culture from afar and what I saw was actually the proudest moment of my life as a Celine Dion fan (and I have been so for the last 14 years). There she was, a CANADIAN artist singing in FRENCH, her mother tongue, at the stage of the AMERICAN Music Awards, receiving a standing ovation for one of her most beautiful performances ever. And she thanked them in FRENCH! That was the cherry of this amazing cake! She was in her full element, a Quebecer artist, using her own language to communicate at the heart of the celebration of American music. Again, I have never felt this proud of her in my life. 18 Quote By now, Celine probably has more discarded projects than released ones.

SuperLove4Celine Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:21 AM Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:21 AM Interesting, thanks for the tidbit. Wonder why they were given such short notice. It seems it may have been Celine herself that gave them all such little time to prepare. It was probably a hard choice for her to decide whether or not to do this type of performance for myriad of reasons. With that said, what she, Scott and Annie were able to put together with such little time was amazing. 1 Quote
Popular Post Derek F. Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:32 AM Popular Post Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:32 AM (edited) This performance was: Amazing!!! The fact that the American Music Awards chose Celine to honor the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks, proves the respect they have for Celine! What an honor for Celine!!! There is not any other singer I can image that was a better choice than Celine for this tribute. This will go down as one of Celine's greatest live performances!I would put this in my top ten Celine performances! Do you notice that Celine always seems to be picked for all the biggest events, especially for earth shaking events or tributes, and charity singles?Celine was chosen to sing the Titanic theme, to sing God Bless America after 9/11 for the America: A Tribute to Hero's telethon, to sing "What More Can I Give" by Michael Jackson as a highlight artist to help victims of 9/11, to sing "Come Together Now" for Hurricane Katrina victims, and the Asian Tsunami in 2004 and 2005, to sing "We are the world" 25, to sing at Michael Jackson's Grammy tribute, to sing "Smile" in memory of actors at the Oscars, to sing at Whitney Houston Grammy tribute, and now to sing "Hymne A Lamour" for the Paris tribute! Celine sang awesome, even with a couple cracks within her voice which show her emotion, she hit incredible notes, and sounded angelic! She also looked great, her dress and hair were stunning, and she moved the audience to tears! Not surprising that in 24 hours, the performance has over 1 million views on YouTube! In this dark, chaotic, and sometimes heartbreaking world, thank God we have Celine and her voice to give us a voice when we have no words! May God comfort and bless the families and friends of the victims of the Paris attacks, and any terrorist attacks! God and His Son Jesus give hope, and salvation!!! scielle Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:33 AM Author Posted November 24, 2015 at 04:33 AM I wonder who was responsible for putting together the photo montage. I thought it was beautifully done and quite thoughtful (particularly the quebecois touch!), and added a lot to the performance. Wonder if it was the AMA folk or Celine's team. 4 Quote

garçon Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:17 AM Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:17 AM after listening to it many times, i don't notice the little glitchs, just the emotions. One of her best performance, she was totally her. She says it a lot in french talkling about people, that they belong to themselves( s'appartenir) . It is high on her list now. she doesn't sacrifice her soul a bit. Interesting observation, so you honestly didn't notice it? I cannot but hear the cracks and flat notes.. Hate it.How has the reception of the performance been in French/francophone media? Have they highlighted the performance and the gesture as such?Have there been comments on her vocals specifically? This is one of the most stunning Celine's performance EVER! Not only did she sing, she moved on the stage like an opera singer. Celine is simply She may have moved as an opera singer, this performance outlines as much as possible the difference between opera singing and pop singing. Certainly this performance lacked classical/opera quality for many reasons. Also, not only there was too little connection between the orchestra and the singer (seems she could not hear the orchestra at all), also the key was much too low - almost tenor I would say, though less risky than higher register. But, POOR Celine, essentially she is not to blame for this. Apparently too little time for rehearsal was provided. Nonetheless she chose to make the best of it. I really HOPE anytime soon she will be able to compensate any loss of credibility as a singer or performer, she more than deserves so. Quote
kerche Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:19 AM Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:19 AM Has anyone found any amateur videos that were filmed by audience members? Thanks! After endless scrolling on Instagram, I found 1 video from an audience member! Pretty good!! I also saw a quick clip on Snapchat when they compiled a bunch of snaps from the AMAs, but you cannot save videos...which is too bad. https://instagram.com/p/-aeos8KlwS/ 1 Quote - Kerry -
browseceline Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:25 AM Posted November 24, 2015 at 10:25 AM I have to say, at first she sounded a bit off. And she still is , but the more you listen to the song, it does not seem to matter anymore. It is pure raw emotion and she gives everything she has. Stunning dress and stunning setting too. The way the orchestra was placed on the stage with Celine in the middle did me think about Les Miserables, a musical about the French revolution. Everything was perfect, even the imperfect way of singing. It was amazing and I can't watch this performance without being emotional. 6 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Popular Post DionFanAlways Posted November 24, 2015 at 11:29 AM Popular Post Posted November 24, 2015 at 11:29 AM I can see some of the comments on here if her performance would have "perfect." ....... "It's playback" "I wish she didn't use playback" "Why didn't she sing it live?" "Listen to the high note, it's playback" You know that would have been some of the posts on here. Don't deny it. I can't stop enjoying this performance, imperfections and all. 12 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

If ever?! Regardless - a thoughtful gesture and appreciate the effort to identify with us common folk! Reading all this press about her performance - despite some of its issues - it makes me really happy to see how positive the coverage is. It's really the first time I can think of where virtually everyone is referring to her as 'iconic', 'legendary', 'the great', 'one and only', etc. And much of this from press outlets that generally snicker at the mention of her name. It's like with this performance, in the eyes of much of the public, she somehow gained a whole other level of respect and gravitas. We here have known it all along, but I'm glad more people are recognizing it. 2 Quote
