Celine Dion to perform Hymne a l'Amour at AMAs

It would make sense that a technical error was responsible for Celine's pitching issues, as it's very rare for her to sing off-key like this.

 

I wonder if they will autotune the vocals and release an 'official' video of the performance?

Like I said, I saw her Saturday night in Vegas she was very emotional. You could feel it. Give the woman a break, she did great under the circumstances. Who cares about a few haters out there who are probably not fans. I think we are all entitled to our opinion. If you hated it fine. I just think after seeing her the other night she needs our love and support more than ever. I'm sure it was so hard for her thinking of both Rene and Paris. She is so strong.

Again, this performance did not add to her image as the prime singer of her generation.

Though if you wanna support Celine blindly and cannot stand any critique on her performing, please don't bother to do any research on the performance by checking negative comments.

Of course there are going to be negative comments from people who already don't like her. I don't support Celine blindly, FYI. I know she was off in this performance. It doesn't mean she's lost credibility. If we have off days at our jobs, does that mean we are no longer credible enough to do them right? No...it just means we had an off day.

Those are the people who usually fail miserably and use their "knowledge" as leverage to try and tear people down to make themselves feel good.

The weirdest thing about that performance that I really loved is that celine herself didn't look 1٪ confused or unsure or even nervous like the performances that I talked about before (grammys,oscars,or xfactor) but she was confidant ,strong ,didn't give a damn,and that what I loved the most and made me even unsure if she's really off key loool

It was inexchangeable, for many reasons summed up above.

 

Arguably she has never -or very rarely perhaps- amassed this kind of attention (including social media etc.), at least not in the past fifteen years.

Exactly therefore it's such a shame part of the performance was screwed up.

Frankly, the key wasn't that high. Yes it was two semi-tone higher than the one she did with johnny hallyday back in 2007, but still it was in a range that she usually can handle without a problem. Just happened that her voice was hoarsed that evening. I have even read someone saying that she has gone on the route of Whitney, not having the voice anymore. That being said, while quite a number of people did comment on her pitchy/flat performance, many have also added that with her track records of superb performance, it is acceptable to have this on this occasion. Afterall, majority of the people found her performance emotional and moving.

 

It was done, and let's just move on and hope for the best in future performances.

 

The key was tenor - i would say.

And besides the off tune notes she had a few apparent cracks.

She gave it her all despite any technical difficulties and she's getting praise for being real, for being human. It was "just another day at the office," because every day is inexchangeable. It was a very special moment, for a lot of people.

Not all of us musicians are slamming her to make ourselves look better. At least not me. I understand the stress, nerves, technical things, etc. No performance is ever perfect. It is an artform and isn't supposed to be.

I know why you probably feel like this..... But try to see past the few dodgy notes .... It really wasn't that bad ..... I personally got goosbumps by the end and I know others did too.... I was so proud she was even putting herself in that position

 

Trust me this has only been a good thing for her.... Her voice could have been better yes.... But it could have also been a lot worse! The young people of today would be blown away by such a performance.... What other artist sings like that even with its faults?

as much say that this performance was touching. She has come harsh crtics here in Québec, and this time, yes some said it was not perfect, but everyone thought it

Celine was happy, confident and soaked up the energy from fans on the xfactor in 2013... She loved that performance!!!
