Popular Post stevo Posted November 25, 2015 at 06:35 PM Popular Post Posted November 25, 2015 at 06:35 PM (edited) Entirely too negative?Celine has not lost any credibility? Only in my eyes and not to the public at large? Apparently you haven't paid any attention to the reception of the performance outside this fan forum. Have a seat and check out some of these comments: https://twitter.com/... flat&src=typdhttps://twitter.com/...ff key&src=typdhttps://twitter.com/...f tune&src=typd And these are just some outings on Twitter. International media have covered her flat singing also. Again, this performance did not add to her image as the prime singer of her generation.Though if you wanna support Celine blindly and cannot stand any critique on her performing, please don't bother to do any research on the performance by checking negative comments. But again you don't accept the point that Celine moved many people, me included, with that performance- 'perfect' or not. I liked hearing that break in the high notes, that effort- she was singing full and powerfully. She isn't as technically skilled or as pure as she once was- she's 47- but what she can still do, and what she did, is represent THE FRENCH- gave them a song and made people cry. I think it added a huge amount of credibility to her as a singer. She is one of the most respected singers out there and it's growing. You take a seat and eat that. celine4evauk Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:13 PM Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:13 PM on radio 98.5 today, Thérèse Parisien , art columnist, said that she talked with Annie Horth about the dress and the performance. Céline decided only thursday to do the AMA,s..... So Annie Horth had vey little time to order the outfit from Europe. Annie had an idea of the dress, she has seen it this spring. They wanted to have a french house like Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent , and they ordered more than one. They had little time because it takes at least 48 hours to receive the clothes, so not before saturday , Letting them very little time to do the touch up, The dress Celine was supposed to wear was stuck at custom, very stressful But They ordered also the Elie Saab dress who has her collection in Paris, and since he is lebanese and they have been attacked the week before, it was fitting also, So they made all the fitting during the night (saturday to sunday) . It is Céline and René who made the decision about the song, it was not an order from the AMA's...It was Scott Price and his orchestra on the stage with her, him too had little time to make the arrangements. This 🔝 is what was posted about the dresses etc CelineDionFreak 😊 2 Quote

Angel2006 Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:29 PM Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:29 PM Oh ok thanks for the confirmation! I couldn't tell. He doesn't look good In purple I don't think! When he walked out with Celine for the press conference back in August he looked so different! But anyways hah. Can you find that link to the video??? I want to see it so bad now, I haven't even heard of it. I can just see her going-- "uh huh uh huh uh huh... Lady you're gonna need to call me back later. I'm busy on the television!" I want to see that interview again aswell. I can't remember where she was when she did the interview. I think it was either 2009 or 2010 when she did the interview. It could have been the time when she was promoting her Celine Through The Eyes Of The World documentary or it was around when she started her Vegas show back up in 2010. I hope someone knows what I am talking about and could possibly post in on the forum so that you can have a chance to see it. Quote

You take a seat and eat that.i don't believe she isn't as technically skilled or pure as before, in fact i found her voice better. She chose to sing in her full voice in this performance, maybe she had a cold or something, so there was little glimpse, flat by moment but not because she is not as good as before. And i don't think her goal was to make people cry, just for the sake of crying. She was asked, said yes, because she felt like it. She was not there to represent the french, she was there as a human being, against violence everywhere. Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....
Pangloss76 Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:52 PM Posted November 25, 2015 at 07:52 PM (edited) I think when we look back on this performance once all the attention is gone, we'll see the greatness of it. I remember the first time I heard God Bless America, the scenario was similar. She was announced to take part of this HUGE event, everybody was grieving and I couldn't help but expect a lot from this performance (plus it was the first since her break) and at the time, I recorded it and rushed to my vsh player the next day to listen to her and... I was disappointed. Her voice was strained at some parts and the big note was clearly raspy (and borderline not so nice to the ears). I thought "what the hell happened during her hiatus? Did she lose the voice? Is it gone forever?) I put it aside and then the ANDHC area came in with its flow of stellar performances (WCD, ANCHC Special...) and later on I played God Bless America again... And with all the wondering, the worries and disappointment gone, I simply felt the song like never before. I'm pretty sure I will be the same with l'hymne à l'amour. She was overwhelmed by emotion those nights and she put her control aside but the performances were unique. She delivered the right message: act strong and keep your voice up, no matter if it cracks, no matter if it's off at times. Well, this is only my point of view but.. I'm sure that with all the great performances ahead, we'll look back at sunday night with a more detached and somehow objective eye within a while! Are you serious??? All the media outlets and TV networks have showered her performance with praise and adulation. They well know she can sing very well, and so does everybody else. Obviously she was raspy and hoarse, but in no way takes away anything from her reputation. Those powerhouse vocals she unleashed during that performance is unmatched! The youtube video that was put up got almost 2 million views in 48 hours. And I can tell you it's not because people are looking for "offness", but because they are moved and simply adored her heartfelt, emotional and gut-wrenching performance. I wonder if the people crying in the audience did because of some of the missed notes or because of the raw/emotional performance... Right. TBH, I didn't hear any *missed* notes. I heard some strained notes and one crack, but that's it. About the key, I don't care or know what they some are talking about. It's a haunting song, and her rendition, so who's to say how it was supposed to sound unless you rehearsed with her. The orchestra also could've been playing in one key, while Celine sings in another, who says that you *have to* sing in the sane key as your orchestra. Some people are just so shallow and dense it's nauseating. Mind you, there are plenty of songs with this case. Kay, I'm done. 6 Quote

chocolatechip15 Posted November 25, 2015 at 09:45 PM Posted November 25, 2015 at 09:45 PM (edited) It is 100% Michel and the other lady in the picture is Celine's publicist. I don't know her name, but she's the one that called Rene and Celine in the middle of an interview once. Celine took the phone from Rene and told her she had to call her back later. LOL. It was one of the rare times we have seen Celine use a cellphone and it wasn't even her phone. It was Rene's. I'm pretty sure it was Kim Jakwerth who called during that interview. It was a French interview on their first day in Vegas in 2011, and I think they called Kim the American equivalent of Francine Chaloult. Edited November 25, 2015 at 09:50 PM by chocolatechip15 Quote

mebe Posted November 25, 2015 at 10:11 PM Posted November 25, 2015 at 10:11 PM I think Celine is the singer who has the most pressure when she sings live...Everybody expects her to be flawless all the time. In a way this is good because it proves that everybody knows she is a great singer if not the greatest! But she is human too. She has the right not to be perfect!I don't know if she had problems with her earplugs, But if it's the case, she's not lucky because it seems to happen to her repetitively...Overall, I found most of the comments I have read on internet were really positive. I still think it was a great move from her team to have her sing that tribute. I'm sure she got news fans again!!! 4 Quote
