Encore Un Soir and Sans Attendre are both such wonderful albums.

 

I am SO ready for an English album that lives up to these gems.

 

I have a great feeling about the album she's working on.

 

I want Celine's fluid, iconic vocals that we fell in love with in the 90s. She still sounds amazing in Vegas --- so we know she's capable!

Encore un soir (single) certified diamond with 233,000 copies sold in France (equivalent streams included).

 

Further, we have confirmation from Julien Goncalves on Twitter that she sold 200,000 albums in 2017 - without lifting a finger. :lol: She is a true music queen, a legendary icon. Her continued success is just unparalleled.

 

Céline Dion en 2017 c'est 80.082 ventes pour la compil "Un peu de nous", 68.989 pour "Encore un soir", 18.915 pour le best of "On ne change pas" et... 12.170 pour "D'eux", sorti en 1995 !

Maybe...though D’eux didn’t make a big jump in the charts when the vinyl was released (but maybe I’m wrong).

 

I think it’s simply due to the big and successful tour in France in June-July. 😉

Listening to the full album in its box set edition, with all the bonus tracks and extra pictures. It's such a pleasure to rediscover all the songs from 1 to 15 after a few months without listening anything from this album. The production is great. Bless this team of French songwriters, and René for whatever he was able to see done of this album.

 

I love so much the songs Plus qu'ailleurs, L'étoile, Ma faille (even if she tries to ressemble Zaho), Je nous veux (I can't get enough of this one ), Les yeux au ciel, Le bonheur en face

 

And... À la plus haute branche. What a perfect closing song for this album :blush:

 

 

Bring on the English album please! It can't be that hard to deliver such a similar excellent production as this French album is, can be?

I still listen to this album every week, I changed it for another cd but after a few weeks I put EUS back in.

I’ve just listened to this album again for the first time in a few months and although I love it there are a couple of niggly things that bug me. I’m hoping I just need clarification on them as my French is zero, firstly in Je Nous Veux, it sounds like she’s pronouncing Veux as ‘vooh’ and sometimes ‘veh’. Is it pronounced differently in certain circumstances or is it just bad pronunciation and also with Tu Sauras, to me it sounds like Du Sauras, is that how it should be pronounced. Thanks in advance French speakers ☺️

Yes its perfectly normal and how it should be. French often changes with pronunciation depending on the grammatical circumstance in the context. This often happens in english too but not as often.

According to Jean-Pierre Ferland, on Les échangistes Radio-Canada TV Talkshow, he will go to Las Vegas to re-recording 2 songs as duet with Celine. The songs will be Ma Chambre and Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour. These duets will be on Jean-Pierre Ferland next album to come.

almost nothing different except the calendar 😂

This album has grown on me little by little since its release day, and now I can happily say it's become one of my favourites in French. The balance between uptempo and ballads is very good, the opening and closing tracks are two of the best songs since the Plamondon and D'eux days and the lyrics are rich, showing a mature Céline with themes that still talk about love, but from a different perspective than before. I'm not surprised this album got so positive reviews and sales

 

So in the forced withdrawal that Sony Music has installed us without new/unreleased material this and the past year, I finally got my hands on the limited rerelease of this album that includes a calendar. I got it for 10 euros (shipping included), so it's not that bad (I refused to pay original retail price for a rerelease that offered nothing new to fans so I waited until I saw a copy for a good price).

 

The calendar is not the best bonus, but the photos of the live 2016 tour are a nice addition to it

 

Still missing that edition with the bonus DVD and the making of the album (stupid Sony... )

Haha that's the extreme limit of the collector yes But that only makes sense with very limited editions of certain releases (like her old long boxes of Unison, Celine Dion etc).

 

I opt to enjoy her material rather than keep it sealed
