Am I the only one to find this album better than SA ?

 

I just think like LukeD, very coherent record even if its funny to hear Celine sing so many different songwriters.

 

"Toutes ces choses" sounds strangely like a Lynda Lemay's song

 

My top 5 is :

Hmm it's ok I guess. So it had me wondering if ORDINAIRE is really being sang live or if she's using the playback from the album OR if they used a live version on the album. It still reminds me of TSMGO single

You missed my point. I did not imply Cher needed special effects to be as good as Celine. By saying Cher is not the vocalist Celine is I meant that Cher could bear to experiment with her voice in studio unlike Celine whose recordings (especially during her prime) were always extremely polished, resulting in people to expect the very best from her. 2015-2016, way out of her vocal prime, and once Celine strained middle chest notes people worried she might have lost her voice.

 

This whole Cher using autotune discussion: in Cher's believe a vocoder was used as a creative fresh effect. Autotune on the other hand..do you guys know how it works? Bad singers can sing robotic/glee-ish when autotune is used directly when singing. The software pushes wrong notes to robotic adjusted right notes. But you can also just pick one note and push it to the correct pitch afterwards. You could use autotune on that or use Melodyne which gives more ways of changing pitch of parts of a song/notes.

So even experienced singers like Celine could sing little wrong notes that can be software corrected afterwards, but recording with full on autotune ends in the glee effect. Robotic, lifeless. I do not think Celine her voice is treated like that.

When using autotune it is used as a correction afterwards that works but should not be noticed.

I dont know why so many don like so much of the album. From the previews i heard fromthe red heads twitter i loved it all... its beautiful. So far lol then again, i am biased for celine haha

Yeah, as I suspected - after a few listens, I really like the album.

 

I've been thinking what Ma faille sounds like as I've been getting deja vu all afternoon - it kind of reminds me musically of Let Your Heart Decide.

I've noticed that alot of people are saying positive things about Les Yeux au Ciel. Didn't Celine write that song or co write it? I am pretty sure I remember reading on this forum that she co wrote that song. I glad that it is having such positive reviews from the fans!

If we want to truly help the reception, when it is released we need to stream on spotify, youtube and others. This is where we can do much better to help her successfulness

It's worth noting that the French albums charts now include streaming - they didn't when Sans attendre was released.

 

So streaming the album is just as important as purchasing it.

It's available from the Google Play store. I'm an Android user, so I can't say how friendly it would be with an iPhone, but I haven't had any trouble downloading MP3s from Google and importing them into iTunes (I like using iTunes for burning songs to disc), so that's one option for getting the deluxe version in the US. That's where I am planning to buy the bonus tracks.

Hmmm I really did not like Sans Attendre very much. I thought it was a horribly boring album.

So I trust all those guys here who write that her new album has a modern vibe to it.
