Javito Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:18 AM Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:18 AM (edited) Are these photos supposed to support your argument? I don't think they do - or to quote you, they are "so wrong". Miracle and Christmas albums being an exception of course. I suppose you want exactly the album covers. Well, here are some. Much more creative than the album covers we got since 2007. http://www.caratulas.com/caratulas/C/Celine_Dion/Celine_Dion-The_Colour_Of_My_Love-Frontal.jpghttp://images.coveralia.com/audio/c/Celine_Dion-Celine_Dion-Frontal.jpghttp://mla-d1-p.mlstatic.com/celine-dion-a-new-day-has-come-cd-nacional-2002-844311-MLA20525138763_122015-F.jpg?square=false Even her cover for SISDA in sepia is more creative than the one we got. http://im0.olx.biz.id/images_olxid/40502521_3_644x461_celine-dion-sil-suffisait-daimer-japan-cd-musik-film_rev001.jpgJuvito just wishes we were still living in the golden years of the 90s, when albums were selling millions. It's crazy thinking Sony will invest the same money as before, having specific photoshoots, they need to optimize so I totally understand they do a big one session and then use the photos for different purposes. Sooner than later we won't even have physical albums anymore. But I like the EUS booklet and the cover is one of her best. I didn't say that Please, do you think they have to spend millions to make a nice photoshoot??? There are thousands of photographers with thousands of ideas out there that would kill to take pictures of Celine, probably for 5% or 10% of what Alix Malka will have charged for those dull pictures, where Céline's face looks the same in all of the takes as if he took only one picture and cut and pasted her face on the rest. There are even artists that take their own pictures based on their own ideas and concepts they have for their albums (i.e. Annie Lennox). So no, it's not a matter of living in the 90's. It's a matter of caring about the product and how it looks . Edited August 24, 2016 at 11:27 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
browseceline Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:20 AM Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:20 AM (edited) The point was not whether the photos are 'artistic' (a term that is highly subjective and I for example don't see what is artistic about someone stretched out on a chaise-longue) but whether the photos and the music match. Now, I am looking forward to the explanation of how Celine on a chaise-longue reflects the musical spirit of All the Way... The artistry is the way the light falls, the location, the natural backgrounds. Here in the new photoshoots she was made young with photoshop, photographed against a white wall. That is what i mean. It is easy to photograph in a studio and photoshop her younger. That is what i mean. LauCH Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:25 AM Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:25 AM (edited) Ok guys. So this morning a Quebec talk show called Salut bonjour made us listen to a snippet of ORDINAIRE studio version and it was pretty disappointing. I'll wait till I hear the full version but the live version is a million times better. First of all it seems like she sings it with higher notes in English (in French we say une tonalité plus haute) which is weird because she usually does the opposite : higher "tone?" On the cd and lower live??? Also, the arrangements and all reminded me of when the show must go on single came out ........ HOPEFULLY it was not the complete version because if so, I'm just hoping for a DVD release now since its just 1000000 times better live. Edited August 24, 2016 at 11:29 AM by LauCH Quote

Same for when a song is sang live it sounds weird sometimes compared to the album Kev x 1 Quote

So no, it's not a matter of living in the 90's. It's a matter of caring about the product and how it looks . It seems the public prefers Celine's strategy and that's why she sells more than Annie Lennox (I just mention her because you did). Would the "product" look better if Celine herself takes the pictures? Why do you assume so? And why do you assume Celine doesn't care about her "product" if they used those pics? Do you know for sure that session was actually not for this album itself? Maybe the idea behind was to show a happy, classy (chic as someone said) Celine. You might not like the booklet, but I don't see lack of caring at all, on the contrary, it looks like they did a good job this time. 2 Quote

I don't think they photoshopped the tree, but I'd rather have photoshop in a tree than in her face . Which in ANDHC wasn't, and in EUS she's photoshopped to death. Alix Malka in 2016 tried to make her look as if she was 20, to the point that her facial expressions don't look like her at all. Anyway, I'm not entering any war with you about this. Each one is entitled to his own opinion as long as it's respectful and I don't like the direction you are taking now with that scorn. http://markportmann.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/celine-dion-a-new-day-has-come.jpg 2 Quote "Hush, now...
