Oh it's the same writer that write the same s*** last week.

I wonder if this kind of info ever reaches her. Or if she's insulated from hearing any negative news. Lord, this is embarassing. From being no.1 to falling of the bb 200 in a week's time.

I mean, this was perhaps a worse promo than any other album of hers in history....

I really hope it doesn't plummet--not because I care about Celine's ego but because it means so many people will be deprived of what an amazing album this is. My sister has NEVER been a Celine fan and this is the first time she's requested that I play her new music when I'm around. To me this says that Celine can win over so many nonfans with this album. I hope everyone is streaming whether they're actually listening or not!!

If that’s true, she/her team have no one to blame but themselves. With zero promo of course it’s gonna plummet down a chart. Sadly I don’t think her team will see it that way. They’ll probably assume there is no thirst for new music which means longer again for a new english album.

Like so many of you have said, I’m sad as it’s an incredible album. Deserves to be everywhere. Celine really mustn’t care about how it performs. Zero promo and 2 songs on the tour (so far).

Is she under a contract to release an album every x number of years? I really don’t see why she decided to do this album. Unless there’s a promo blitz over Xmas / early next year, but I can’t see it.

Buck stops with Celine on this one. Really disheartening.

To hit number one is great however recent years have shown celine needs album staying power. The facts it’s out of the top 200 is a disaster. the promotion has been appalling and that is now giving poor sales. If this is not sorted then I’m staying by my word it’s a flop. Unfortunately it’s lack of management. René would never have allowed this to happen. Celine can’t manage her career and everything else. René was a fabulous manager. This is not good

Look at the uk. Nothing but a silly interview on itv. Compare to taking chances we had divas night X factor radio 2 and and evening with. This is a total sham. It will be known as the album that failed. The proof is the abysmal sales in week two. People may attack me but I point the truth. Courage has been poorly handled. And for the record I’ve never bought a Mariah Carey album. Celine seems not to care any more. It’s more about fashion etc. Fine. But don’t go on your charging the earth for Vegas on wheels.

Hahahahaha what a joke!!

Dare them to post that out and proud on their social media.

Can bet you that Sony now says, screw the next releases. No promo at all!

If they are treating this long awaited album for 6 years with this, than they could have easily released some EPs the last couple of years. Why bother with an whole album these days.

She doesn't even care for it during the shows. So why all the effort.

Just release an EP, Spanish, jazz, covers whatever she wants every now and then an go back touring your greatest hits. Byeee.

It’s Sony that is supposed to take care of the PR arrangements. That’s what the Public Relations department is there for. They are supposed to schedule all appearances and press. So, I doubt that Sony is going to cast aside any future releases.

As far as promo goes this time around, it was probably a logistical nightmare for Sony to schedule anything around the rescheduled Montreal shows. Unfortunately, the show rescheduling had to come down to availability of the venue and Celine’s availability to be there.

It is quite funny to read you guys. you are all blaming on her team and record company but the truth is that she is the one to blame for that situation. she keeps on making managing mistakes. The thing is that her team can't do much because she is not available to promote her album or even worse she is not willing to promote cause she doesn't give a f*ck.

Her mistakes :

- Releasing FOMO with no music video and barely any promotion

- Going on tour before the album is released

- Releasing her album too late in the year (she should have released it early september)

- Too many songs on the album are bad/dull songs or just fillers (and not the good kind of fillers) (ex: Bad / dull songs : Say yes, Nobody's watching, i will be stronger / Fillers : Falling in Love again, Baby, Look at us Now)

- Very Very Very bad setlist for her Courage "greatest hits" world tour : Atrocious opening of the show (IACBTMN is not a good song for opening a show especially she way she is doing it : a capella then Applause and then "i shall sing for you little people" (for me it is a very arrogant way of opening a show), the same olds songs, the lack of new songs and the useless and uninteresting covers)

- Bad Rescheduling Montreal concerts

My point of of view is that she is lost in nowadays industry and because she had a long career she feels that she doesn't have to promote or do things like that but it is quite the opposite.

I know i am quite negative but this what i think. It is not the end of world either. I still like her very much but i am disappointed by her choices lately. I still bought the album even though i didn't like it when it leaked and i have my tickets for Paris next year (though i am considering in reselling it)

I agree with your statement. Now she might be the biggest drop from No 1 for female artist.

She beats Whitney Houston for longest time frame for a female artist to have number 1 album again. Now she is going to beat Madonna for biggest drop from number 1 😂

Good news though 😅

At least she has a new record! :D

I think Sony only care about this album selling 1M worldwide anyway. So they figure not much promo is needed based on what she normally sells. So time will tell how many units Courage sells. On a worldwide basis, she has already outsold some of her peers. :P

It's devastating indeed but I agree with many of you who are saying that at the end of the day it falls on her. The rescheduling of those Montreal shows undoubedtely took away precious time that I am sure they were planning to use to promote the album--but there's things she can do remotely like Instagram/Facebook live, call into radio stations, surprise fans with video calls...none of that requires a heavy lift at all. I just don't get it either. She talks about being the boss so much these days that I wonder what's stopping her from marching into Sony headquarters and asking "wtf isn't my album selling??! how could you let this happen?"

I suppose if she's okay with it then we shouldn't lose sleep over it either. There's still a chance for her to turn this around if she wants.

And at the end of the day IT WAS a Number 1 album. I guess that's all that matters haha...

I agree with most of this, however I have to disagree with this one thing:

IACBTMN works perfectly well in this setlist. When I first saw the setlist, I was like WTF. But in person, it really gets the show going off with a bang, and the whole crowd is singing along. She doesn’t have many songs that people all know by heart... so IMO this is the right place for it.

My only complaint is that the prerecorded a capella bit sounds ridiculously obvious, but again, only we would noticed that.

It holds well in UK, France and Canada. That is encouraging to see, indeed!

Courage is a total failure. The drop is the icing on the cake. Her lack of promotion is appalling. We get a crap tour and one song live on a tv show. René would be furious. I still think it’s a drab piece of work but anyone can now see. Courage era is over

I completely agree celine is the boss remember. Well not a good one looking at this mess !!! She needs a new manager. What a pity when she seemed more popular. Those American interviews she looks like she can’t be bothered. And the tour set list is a joke 😂

Posted
Well I’m not too proud to admit I’m devastated. If, as seems to be the case, she claims that “biggest fall ever” record then it’s awful. She’ll hold onto that record for a while too as for whatever reason her American audience has abandoned her. I don’t care whose fault it is and I’m done assigning blame but the simple fact is that I’m gutted she’s going to claim this “record.”

But I still can see Sony use these bad sales for her next promo tour.

'it didn't worked with Courage, so why bother now' more on those lines.

I'm sure that the Montreal shows could have happend next year before Europe, or even after.

My guess celine insisted it happend earlier as loyal as she is.

It will be interesting to see how she ranks on the sales chart in the US tough. Because some albums in the Top 10 sold less albums than Courage did but they got tons of streaming however.

So this historic drop is basically based on the new streaming and sales charts combined. Not a big history really.
