"Courage" album - Official Topic

I just gotta say I'm in love with this album. Totally in love. Does anyone else think "The Hard Way" is Disney movie material? ? Or a movie-esque feel to it in some way. Loving it. I also fell madly in love with Heart of Glass, and Change my Mind.

 

I see Change my Mind as a fantastic single--and live.

 

Regarding album sales and drops. Honestly guys, this is a totally different time. People don't buy albums at all anymore. Wait until the building albums sales chart is released you'll see she's a lot higher than on the Sale plus streaming. Folks who buy from her generation listen to the album here and there on Amazon music or stream it a bit but not much if they are streaming and really only the core would buy the physical copy. Theres also the cherry picking of buying the singles you like. As mentioned earlier Celine's popularity has actually gained traction. Album sales don't capture that unless your Taylor Swift.

 

Needless to say, I'm hopeful, if not minority confident she'll see a bit of a surge next week with Black Friday yesterday and the Major tv performance the day before. If that doesn't boost physical sales; nothing will

 

She desperately needs a performance in the UK though--that's a market that still buys her physically.

if I’m the only one...... then why isn’t it selling ? Also personal attacks calling people trolls should not be tolerated. The album is not selling. The sales figures here in the uk are dreadful. It’s dropping like a stone. So please answer why ?

 

Because her new rise in popularity, especially here in the UK, is all for Celine in her 90’s era. As I’ve already said previously, many people are just finally admitting that they liked her and her power ballads back then, as at the time it was deemed uncool to admit to liking her. This doesn’t mean that these people are remotely interested in her new music, they’re clearly only interested in ‘classic Celine’. It’s basically a nostalgia trip for them as her ticket sales prove!!

And this point is important, how can one have so many "ways" of sounding in one single album,

it hurts the coherence of the album.

 

 

I believe Celine has always changed her voice to suit different songs and this is actually one of the many reasons why I have always loved listening to her albums. It adds to her interpretation of each song, so I definitely don’t think this is something new.

 

I also think this is what makes a good singer, adapting different singing styles to suit a song.

Guys, I appreciate that the fact that they posted a very short making of clip of the Courage music video, but dear lord, that was not even a minute long! Why th hell are they keeping all the making of footage for themselves? There is this official Facebook group and they advertised it by claiming to post many extras and behind the scenes stuff for fans, and so far there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING posted! Well said! I'm agree with you 100%. Céline has a very versatile and beautiful voice. For that reason I love her, she is really good, she sings like an angel.

I'm still don't understan why some people are comparing her with another artist. I have read a name of "one singer" and I'm asking to myself: Since when this artist can sing? OMG, really?

This album is epic, I got the deluxe edition and when I listened the full album and I said wow it's too beautiful, deeply, epic and too short! 😊 The whole album it's not boring to listen to... for me LBTL was so boring to listen, I didn't like the covers and a few songs!

So, Céline well done, congratulations for this album and I'm waiting for the next one.

Is White Christmas the best song ever written? Is MHWGO the best song ever written for Celine?

Are Rihanna and Taylor Swift the best female artists of the present time since they're the best selling ones?

You write to me as If don't know how her old material used to sound like

Her old material is loved by casual fans, here I had hard time to represent her new material

to people that, at least, used to love her old materials. It's pity for me.

 

Again, there is a confusion, between singing in a different way and adding flavors to a song (That's fine with me)

to SOUND like someone else while singing those songs, to the point that even people that used to love

her didn't know that was Celine singing on some of the new songs. Can't you see how absurd is that?

 

Celine has her own uniqueness when it comes to singing, to sound like Sia and other singers (Cher!!!!!!!)

make the songs nothing special, and those songs turning to be all those other songs one can hear on the radio.

 

Yes, you can tell me to just skip songs that I don't like.

 

I personally think this shouldn't happen from the first place, since as a fan, I wish to enjoy many new songs

as possible and not have to skip them because of these reasons which I'm afraid will apply to the next album.

 

It's lack of professionalism to get into this place, for a veteran artist.

That's my main letdown with this album, to hear 10 different Celine at one album

when it comes to how she sound.

 

I have nothing more to add about that just wish it won't happen on the next album.

Actually, looking at celine pose and the sentence. saturday got us feeling like .... I think the right words to follow that sentence is actually LYING DOWN. So it is probably hint that we will have lying down video!!!!

Well, I think they should wait for january to release the Lying Down music video.

We're in holiday season, and Imperfections is still getting some traction.

 

I'd be okay for them to release this MV now.... IF we have Change your mind as a new surprise single drop on January 2nd.

I can not explain the actual situation. For years, I believe, at least, they have built the momentum for this new album. And now ..... 1 week number 1 (super happy !!!!) .... And now: NOTHING.

 

I was informed here in the forum that, understandably, she dedicates herself to the family. If that's true - OK.

 

Could not she have chosen another time for that ??? Sometime 5 years before or 5 years later ????

Or did something happen? I hope, dear Celine, you and her family are doing very well.

 

Or your management is a team of beginners. s***.

 

Only one thing I'm sure: The error is not the new album. The Error ist not in Celine Dion's voice. And everything else is actually COMPLETE EGAL. Let's just enjoy the new music. We can not care about the world with its bad taste in music ....

Celine's english career always lack personality. Every single critic always said that.

 

After ANDHC, it much got worse. She even tried to be Britney Spears on OH, for God's sake.

 

Let's face it: Celine, in the english career, it's a product of marketing, not an artist. It's kinda sad but, WTH... it is what it is.

 

Hence Courage is very much interesting, which sound so much different from her previous records; but it will take time until she is recognised by the music industry.

I guess it is all the reason Celine and her team still to the old repertoires on the current tour because that is the only selling point for the tour. I have been called a troll however it is a flop this album. The sales are dire. I'm sorry it's because it is a dull flat album. I tried again last night on a long journey home. It's not an album of celine standard.

 

It isn't a flat album at all, it is failing because there is almost ZERO promo. the one performance she did was a short one of imperfections which is the least demanding song vocally on her album.

I highly recommend to all of you Celine fanatics to go to Billboard.com and just soak in the fact that Celine is still listed in the #1 slot.

No matter what happens from this point forward, Celine hitting number 1 is a fantastic achievement. There's no way she, like other veteran artists, can compete with streaming these days. It's definitely changed my view on streaming. I used to still pop in a CD from time to time -- but now I'm totally switching to streaming so that my "votes" count towards the artists I love. I'm thankful that ticket bundle sales exist to give a chance to veteran artists to climb the charts because older folks can't compete with kids / teens when it comes to streams. An artist who can still sell out an arena so far into their careers should still have the chance to gain another #1 album.

Courage will definitely have more opportunities to shoot up in the charts again. Perhaps with the release of a big new music video? Perhaps when the vinyl edition of the album is released? Perhaps if Celine sings the new Bond song? We never know what's coming our way!

 

Regardless, this is still a celebratory moment in her career and we should soak in this fantastic new album -- all put together by CELINE herself.
