I totally love this song and I don't mind her weird way of singing it. It sounds like a Cher song and not in a bad way.

 

That's great that you love it, and I think Cher is awesome, but I would never want Celine to sound like her, but that's my personal preference.

 

I get that we can't get 90's Celine back, and I'm fine with that, but I still want Celine to sound like herself, and not like she imitating someone else when she sings. Like Sia, Adele or whomever it might be.

I don't get it, for years she had her own amazing voice, and it's like she thinks to herself

"Maybe if I will change my voice I will have this smash hit or something" I can't get this one

and from where it came!

 

Personally, I love to hear HER. I can't believe no one from the people around

her told her, to stop with this. It's just embrashing sorry.

She is at #10 at Worldwide- itunes Album

 

It's nice but after what Scielle explained, I understood that doesn't mean that many albums are sold

per day. As it seems now they only care from the Tour tickets $$$$$$.

 

At least I hope they won't forget us, hardcore fans and will let us see behind the scenes of... something

I'm still a fan of those DVDs editions.

The only one that really gets me is in Perfect Goodbye. The "memorwwwyyy" Just, ugh. And then later in the verses she says "memory" perfect.

 

Her enunciation on some songs hold them back for me, which is such a shame. Perfect Goodbye, Best of All, and For The Lover That I Lost are all songs I would have liked if she sang them properly.

 

My least favorite songs from best to worst are:

Baby

Perfect Goodbye

Best of All

For The Lover That I Lost

 

I find Baby and Heart of Glass to be very bland, and she's imitating Sia too much. I honestly expected to love the Sia songs before I heard them, but to me, they sound like reject songs.

She obviously held back on most songs on this album and I think that was the point... she has always been criticised for over singing ... think that’s what they tried not to do... and find new sounds.

 

Once the shock is over... you don’t notice it at all tbh

I think it's pity, another time of wasting an amazing talent on some songs on this album.

 

I've tried to give those Sia songs chances, and not from the start to simply

go "hating it". Not at all. But it also happens on "For the lover that I lost"

and other songs.

 

I have to say that I never experienced such thing

with other VETERAN artists. Bruce Springsteen sound like Bruce Springsteen.

Shania sounds like Shania. Luis Miguel sounds like Luis Miguel.

 

The way of singing has to do with something else, improvise or "playing with the song"

deliviring etc, but here, you hear her sounds like SOMEONE ELSE, another artist.

 

I can't get over it and have to skip those 2 Sia songs, for being annoying (On LD things are better

but I never liked it too much).

 

The two others Sia songs sound like Sia). And tha'ts a problem: Where is the uniqueness

in all of that. I'm sure that if Celine was singing those songs in her voice, I may not feel so distrubed

about those Sia songs, that generally I can't stand it.

 

She suppose to own the songs, come on, I can't believe I'm even writing about that.

We're talking about a veteran artist here, not someone that started her career.

 

Anyway, I'm giving more time to this album, I notice things that I love more and less.

Can't say I'm fully happy with that. I do try to just listen and enjoy.

 

One can hope that when she will sing it live

she will own it, and it will sound better.

Some of those are my FAVOURITE songs!! I don’t get all the fuss about her jaw being glued shut... I agree, there’s usually been a difference in the way she pronounces the words on a recording than in a live performance, but this is nothing new. It’s as if some of you folks haven’t heard her sing in 15 years!!!!

 

“Lying Down”, “Baby”, and “Heart of Glass” are the worst pronunciation IMO, but that’s okay because it disguises the lyrics — which are painfully cliché. As a lifelong fan, none of that really keeps me from enjoying the songs. The only song I skip is “Lying Down”, and that’s just because it’s on a completely different level of camp than the rest of the album.

I don’t think that she sounds like someone else. She does sound like herself, but she adapts Sias style, which I think is a natural consequence cause she is a big fan of hers and she probably listened to the demo a lot.

I'm sorry, but obviously that's not the case. You're basically saying that they adjusted her sound according to the critics (who doesn't even like her) instead of appealing to her fans who likes her music for what it is. At this point in her career, that's very unlikely. She's not making music for the critics, she making it for the fans, and for the people who obviously like her music.

 

Finding new styles of music is great, and I agree with you in that sense, but her enunciation has gotten objectively worse, and that's the problem. Not the type of music she sings. Her new sound though, in my opinion, is laziness at best and deliberate at worst, but I don't think she does any of it to please the critics. That's crazy.

 

For the record, I don't hate the songs I mentioned, but I'm not loving them like I want to.

Her pronunciation on TLTIL is indeed weird. But I think that she tried to sound assertive and strong in that song and that’s the result, just like with the live version of PQTME in 2018. Not a good thing to do whey you record a song in the studio. Edited November 29, 2019 at 03:44 PM by ryba

It's not fuss, me and many others want the most simple thing to enjoy her music, when she is changing

the way she sounds, it lets me down and I can't enjoy it, I'm an old fan of her

and it just hits me and makes me sad.

I've been streaming the 16 tracks of the Standard Edition since it released on 15th November. Until I got my Deluxe Edition CD yesterday, I listened to the 4 bonus tracks for the very first time. I'm totally surprised that they are so good. Especially Heart of Glass and Boundaries, it made me in tears... wow! Love this album so much!
