Even if this rule is the truth, she has album out right NOW ... so AMA would be better choice to perform new song from new album now ... even if she will be performing on the Grammies in january/february it´s too late for big effect for album sales.

This #1 is amazing news! Now I just hope they will keep promoting the album. It would be a nonsense if the promo ends with the Thanksgiving performance and the Lying Down music video.

Do we expect the show setlist to be updated now the new album is out? I am sure she wants to perform more of her new stuff...

 

I am waiting for Beirut show sale to start (crossing fingers), I hope by June the setlist would have been modified, even a little to include this AWESOME material.

That's soooo great, I'm so happy for her!!! By the way, Madonna didn't have number 1 also these last decades? I'm surprised (even for 4 decades as she began in the 80's).

 

And I was thinking... We were all upset by the fact she began the world tour without the album released, but maybe it helped to have this number 1, or am I wrong? The huge amount of people who saw her in the USA these last weeks would have bought more easily Céline's album after seeing her live.

It's her PR team's job to make sure they do. Magazine editors don't just put people on covers or write features out of goodwill. It takes work on the part of the artist's PR to make it happen.

Of course her PR team is part of it, but magazines get approached by a lot of PR teams and at the end of they day they make the call on who is on their cover. I don't think it's necessarily who is willing to pay the most.

Celine Slays Competition With No. 1 Album Selling 50K+ Copies

 

Celine Dion’s Courage debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart with 55,000 total consumption units. It is the highest one-week consumption total since Drake’s Scorpion picked up 70,000 in July 2018. With 53,000 albums sold, Courage also has the highest one-week-cash register total since Taylor Swift’s Reputation sold 80,000 copies two years back, in November 2017.

 

This is Dion's 15th Canadian chart-topping album in the Nielsen SoundScan era, with all four of her albums released this decade reaching No. 1. All in, she has sold 8.3 million albums in Canada in the Nielsen SoundScan era, over three million more than the current runner-up, Eminem.

 

Noteworthy, too, is the fact that Courage marks Dion’s fifth US No. 1 album, and her first chart-topper in over 17 years, according to Billboard. She was last at No. 1 with 2002’s A New Day Has Come.

Madonna didn ´t have nb.1 album in 90-ties, she had in 3 decades (80,00,10) but not in last 3 decades.

So I still haven't received my copes of the album that I ordered from the official Celine Dion boutique. I'm so frustrated now, I want to send them an angry email. I wish I could just cancel my purchase and go and buy it somewhere else, but I guess my only option is to wait and get more pissed by each day it doesn't arrive. Wtf is the hold up?!

 

I did however get an email today confirming that the Japanese version will arrive on the 27th So It looks like I'm gonna get the Japanese version that I ordered through CDjapan before the regular versions that I pre-ordered months ago.
