That's the secret to selling Celine albums. It's clear she still sells tons of physical albums so they have to be easily available. Some people mentioned they had to go to 3 stores before finding the album. I wonder why gas stations or drugstores are not a more popular option in other countries.

What makes me happier about his success is that for the very first time she was really in charge of the creative process; and even when she did not write a single letter in any song it feels like she could be easily related to all of the lyrics.

In general, her team have been more savvy than ever. Some of yall still suffer from delulu svengali wannabe syndrome where you think yo personally have the formula to make her magically sell 10 mill copies again.

While I can understand the disappointment about the lack of promotion this week, Celine must have had a fabulous time this week in Quebec with her family and celebrating her album release with her hometown fans.

 

I do hope additional promotion is scheduled though. This album deserves to be pushed with the full backing of the label and Celine.

 

Celine, it's time to get back to work, work, work, work, work!

I think Sony has done a great job this time. To start with they picked a good release day with no other major releases, ensuring the USA #1. They have been very active on social media, they had banners on Spotify, iTunes, billboards in many big cities. They had Lying Down heavily played in BBC2. Also in other countries (in Spain for instance Imperfections has been on the radio, when LMBTL wasn't). Two videos. What else could Sony do? But if Celine is not able to promote herself there is nothing to do. She needs traditional promo, she needs to perform on TV and this time the tour prevented that. With LMBTL she did all major tv shows in USA, Canada, UK and France, even Germany. A pity since the album is great. Entertainment press where she's a regular - nothing in People, for example, nothing in Entertainment Weekly, nothing in most other entertainment periodicals... just very odd. There was more coverage of the tour launch, and the little press there was last week was either re. her fashion while in NYC, or it was largely in small, inconsequential publications. Just odd. I kept thinking "surely, there's more coming", but so far... nada. A bunch of covers several months ago and now... nothing.

That is because the priority is the tour. A copy of an album only sell for 20 usd. As a ticket can sell for 200+ usd. And Sony knows promoting the tour will kepp celine name as artist being alive. Also there is an upcoming celine movie next year. They probably consider launch a new album coincide with that?

I assume we’ll get some more press from her appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I can see People and a few others picking up on this & mentioning her new album.

We all agree the priority is the tour, as previously discussed.

But an album definitely doesn't sell for US$20 and Sony gets a fraction of that, while she gets nothing until her advance and recording costs are recouped (and that's going to take a lot given how expensive this album must have been). Sony doesn't get anything from the tour unless they have a 360 deal with her (likely, but not a given), and they get nothing form the movie (other than synch revenues, if they use her actual masters in the film).

 

Anyway, all this is beside my point, which is about the dearth of press coverage in major entertainment publications. And unlike interviews / TV appearances that require her physical presence, print pieces do not. So I'm surprised we saw basically none this past week.

Yes, I think, and still hope, that you're right. But I honestly expected more in this past week or two.

Whenever she shows up at fashion week, she's everywhere. I expected that level of coverage in the last 2 weeks, and we just didn't get it.

I really don't understand them, Change my mind is one song that could turn into a decent hit

something that sound a bit different but has groove and most important

it will stuck in one head.

 

there are so many good songs that just scream to be performed live!

This album has tremendous potential!

Unfortunately, it seems to me that once again Sony Music does not know how to promote Celine Dion.

In Portugal, for example, only fans know about Courage. Radios have long since stopped playing Celine songs and the Courage album is not found in every music store.

And ... yes, Celine needs to sing more songs from the Courage album on her tour. This is because the album is simply FABULOUS!!!

 

 

do not blame it all on Sony. Celine is the one pulling the strings and she should sing more of the album in her tour. But she likes playing it safe and what already worked

Really strange indeed. A performance on the AMAs for week 2 would have kept the chart momentum. If Shania and Toni Braxton can perform, I can't imagine Celine didn't have an invite to do so.
