It’s true she has to promote her album here and without saying to much, she was supposed to be here this month and they had loads planned for her, but she chose to reschedule Montreal shows for this month when she could have easily done it for early next year when she’s back there again.

No idea really but I’d definitely say the Sam Smith and LP songs are the most recent. Disagree on the Eg White songs cos there was a photo of them together in a recording studio around the same time of the Diane Warren ones. Based on that I actually think his songs are some of the earliest recordings.

Why would you rather reschedule shows, than doing promo for a new album?!

 

It’s true she has to promote her album here and without saying to much, she was supposed to be here this month and they had loads planned for her, but she chose to reschedule Montreal shows for this month when she could have easily done it for early next year when she’s back there again.

For the first time I’m not sure what more Sony could’ve done. They’ve promoted singles, had them played on radio, made music videos and they had her everywhere online across Twitter, Facebook etc and had (it seems) the whole worlds media to New York etc to interview her. I actually say well done to Sony for the marketing and promotion of the album.

 

Sometimes that isn’t enough though. The artist needs to promote it too and by that I mean travelling to certain territories and making appearances. Oh and not forgetting to perform the new material too of course!

 

Whether or not they had anything planned in place of the Montreal shows I guess we’ll never know but it seems touring is the 100% priority now.

I think that the way this is measured is not quite fair. Many Celine fans bought this album and are listening to the physical copies constantly, or they play it on iPods etc. instead of using streaming platforms. So the streaming number will of course be low. Streaming should not be considered the main accurate measurement for chart positions.

I had a feeling this is what happened. The only chance she has to go over to the UK is this week or immediately following the Boston shows on December 13 and squeeze in some promo.

 

Personally I think as much people want her to do the AMA's Sunday, she's done over 100K and has the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade performance coming up this week. Nothing for the UK.; I think she should immediately fly to the UK to tape a performance on either X-Factor on Sunday or Strictly Come Dancing and Jonahtan Ross and then Jet back mid-week.

No one knows the album exists or even that Céline is still active here (Sweden).

 

IMO the album also under-performed in Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Ireland. I was expecting higher positions.

 

Best surprise was reaching #4 in Germany and #1 in Belgium Wallonia. #2 in France was pretty good too. Really looking forward to Canada and US.

yeah, I kept streaming all working hour, I only install Spotify for her. I'm really not a stream person, I prefer download. But she is always an exception for me.

Do we have any idea how many units she’s moved internationally this week? I saw a tweet (unreliable) that gave a conservative estimate of around 200-220k. She’s underperforming in a lot of her(usually) strongest territories. I feel fairly certain there’ll be more tv soon, maybe Sony think December will be a better time for a promo and market blitz. This album is top notch and I want it to have wings it deserves.

 

Touring is getting in the way, they should have started the tour early next year, I just hope her voice isn’t exhausted by the time she does live tv performances.

I don't understand the rush, the english album was expected for so long and deserves more attention from Celine

I find it hard to believe they would jeopardise the album by cancelling international scheduled promo to fit the rescheduled Montreal shows in, when they could’ve been rescheduled any time during her breaks in the tour schedule.

 

Sure she may have planned a bit more around the US talkshow circuit but I don’t believe she’s was planning to come all the way to the UK to do promo, when she’s in the middle of a world tour. Why then would they have UK entertainment presenters/journalists flying over to her, it doesn’t make sense!

 

I believe the promo was always going to be kept to a minimum due to the fact she’s on a world tour. This is why she sat for days speed interviewing the world’s media before the world tour began and whatever else she recorded over the couple of days in New York.

Vocals in The Hard Way are the most precious thing on this album.

It's an anthem and I immediately think to The Power Of The Dream and Call The Man...

 

Great vocals also in How Did You Get Here and the little variations in Best Of All and Boundaries. Moccio should produce her a full album!

The Chase is great but don't get why the higher notes aren't as powerful and full as in others, too much like a scream.

Otherwise it's a beautiful song too.

 

Even Lovers Never Dies (which is where the album starts for me and which was the worst song on the album along with Perfect Goodbye - this one is still bad in everything except for the bridge) is growing on me even if I'm sure there's a song which sounds exactly the same. That what made me hate this album at first... She tries to be modern but most of the song sound like all the current songs by other artists, both ballads and uptempo ones.

 

Ballads aren't what classic Celine ballads are, I mean these ballads can easily be found on youtube by unknown users and singers.. Nothing that standout or moves you (except for the lyrics) And well... Didn't expected that the only power ballad would have been written by Sia... (other Sia songs are powerful but too repetitive. Herat of glass is way way way better than Baby, but in the bridge her voice is very bad!).

 

I listen to the album backwards starting from track 20 and it's way better! This way I hope she sings some of these new songs live.

Because with the rescheduled shows she let down over 50,000+ people who wanted to see their hometown glory on her new tour. Promo is.... well, promo. Her shows give her all she wants and give her millions to back it up.. I know what one id choose
