I do feel she's heading to LA once this batch of Montreal shows is over.

It's late, but they could still announce her for the AMAs (they just announced presenters today, and if she actually does have a #1 album tomorrow - as seems likely - it would be good timing).

And, it seems a lot of the West Coast media has largely held off from publishing much about the album - maybe they don't care, sure, but maybe it's by design.

I think this week was originally slotted for LA, after NYC last week, but they had to rework things to allow for the Montreal rescheduling.

They could have rescheduled the remaining 2 Montreal shows for this Sun / Mon (doesn't look like the Habs are playing and the venue seems free), but they didn't. So I'm thinking that's because she's otherwise engaged.

Curious to see the official numbers from Billboard. But their estimates were about 120k including the tour bundle.

We should find out on Sunday or Monday.

 

That's already better than LMBTL. A lot better if you count the huge drop in album sales overall.

In relation to a possible February anything....the red vinyl will be released February 7th. What if there's only one more bonus song to coincide with that release?

 

The way things work as of late, my money is on that compared to getting an entirely new album. Just saying....

Celine Dion is on track to score her fifth #1 album in the United States.

 

According to Hits Daily Double, the new album is pacing to sell 120-124K US copies during its first week of release. With units from track sales and streams included, it should generate 122-127K in total first-week consumption.

 

As things currently stand, the album looks like a good bet for #1 on this week’s album sales and consumption charts.

 

In addition to enthusiasm one would expect for a new Celine Dion release, “Courage” is benefiting from a ticket-album promotion. Albums redeemed as part of the bundle promotion count toward the sales total.

 

Dion previously hit #1 with “Falling Into You,” “All The Way…A Decade Of Song,” “Let’s Talk About Love,” and “A New Day Has Come.”

As Canadian singing sensation Celine Dion returns with her twelfth English language album, Courage, Official Charts takes a look at the superstar's most-streamed songs in the UK. The Top 40 list reveals which of her tracks during 38-year music career stand up strongest in the digital era, since streaming records began in 2014.

While Celine's recording career technically began in 1981, when she released her first album at 12 years old, she didn’t become a household name in the UK until 1988, when the then 20 year old was chosen to represent Switzerland at Eurovision Song Contest. She finished in first place with her track Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi (which roughly translates as ‘Don't Leave Without Me’), beating the UK entry, Go, by Scott Fitzgerald by 137 points to 136 (!).

Her first English language album, Unison, was released in 1990 in North America, but Celine didn’t find chart success on UK shores until 1992 with her version of the title song from Disney’s Beauty And The Beast. The track, which also features the vocals of Peabo Bryson, was ditched from the film’s final theatrical release, but Disney elected to keep it on the official soundtrack. It peaked at Number 9 on the Official Singles Chart in May, 1992 and is her 11th most-streamed song in the UK with 5.6 million plays.

While her subsequent three UK single releases (1992’s If You Asked Me, Love Can Move Mountains and 1993’s Where Does My Heart Beat Now?) failed to make the UK Top 40, Celine was back with a vengeance in 1994 with The Power Of Love, which peaked at Number 4. It’s now her seventh most-streamed track with 9 million plays.

Celine scored her first UK Number 1 the following year with Think Twice. This slow burning powerhouse, would go on to become one of the UK’s biggest selling singles of all time with over 1.32 million sales. When it comes to streams, it ranks fourth, with 14.7 million plays.

 

 

However it was Celine’s second Number 1, My Heart Will Go On, which would become her first UK million-selling single and her overall biggest single of all-time with 1.84 million chart sales, including 27.3 million streams across all plaforms.

Taken from the soundtrack to James Cameron’s cinema epic Titanic, My Heart Will Go On spent two non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 in 1998. It lost the top spot initially to Fatboy Slim’s remix of Cornershop’s Brimfull Of Asha and the Run DMC Vs Jason Nevins’ It’s Like That. Celine probably didn't mind too much, as My Heart Will Go On passed the million sales mark in the UK after just eight weeks.

Elsewhere in Celine's most-streamed Top 40, her 2018 single Ashes - recorded for the Deadpool 2 film - places sixth on 11.6 million plays. Despite not charting in the Top 40, her cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Happy Xmas (War Is Over) ranks ninth with 6 million plays.

Celine is known for delivering impressive covers of hits by other artists, several of which feature in her Top 40 most played. Her take on Tina and Ike Turner's River Deep Moutain High is at 25, and a cover of Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father ranks 29th.

Oh Courage will sold over 1 million worldwide easily. Her French album, EUS, sold over 1,5 million copies worldwide without a single music video and proper promotion. I see no reason why Courage -an English album- can’t reach that number since Courage has better promotions and her name way more recognized and respected nowadays.

EUS sold 1.5 million but almost 1 million of sales is from 2 countries (France 800.000 and Canada 160.000) so its a diffrent situation and also EUS was quite hit single ... with Courage we have 3 singles but no one of them is recognized little bit as hit... still hope Courage can reach 1 million.

@ stevo: if the Songs will stay in the eternity or not, this is another issue.

 

@weasly: the 800.000 of EUS in France will be more than the combined sales of Canada/States/Latin America. It is my personal opinion. Maybe in one year from now Courage will be one of the best selling albums of 2020 with sales over 2M, 3M. The time will show that.

Beautiful! That song is one of the most visual tracks on the album. I wish they would make an emotional (and full color) music video for it someday. Not in the style of Imperfections and Courage, but an old-school one like Immortality

Soul is great, would have been a great choice (and fit better) for the album opener instead of FOMO. FOMO should’ve been a bonus track as it sounds nothing like the rest of this album.
