scielle Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:05 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:05 PM Yup, and #2 has 200 times less pure album sales as well. Strange era. Actually, Tory Lanez is showing at 8.4k sales, so about 13x less. But yes, strange era indeed. 1 Quote
Xpresso Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:07 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:07 PM If she shows up at the AMA, then we will know they were waiting for this big event. Otherwise the US promo is just too little. At least Sony and Team Celine did a good job on social media. 1 Quote

mikez Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:12 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:12 PM Guys I'm completely in love with this album. All songs keep growing on me. It just flows so nicely. It's so cohesive. As an album it's even more cohesive than ANDHC. There are no covers and I would say none of the songs is out of place. Maybe FOMO but it's meant to set the mood and it's actually a pretty good and catchy song. Anyone dares to say this is the best album of her entire career? (Maybe not vocally but artistically) 4 Quote

mikez Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:20 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:20 PM (edited) English album ...yes Yeah that's what I meant. I'm in love. I still remember my feeling of disappointment when LMBTL came out. It was so underwhelming. I was trying really hard to fall in love to at least one or two songs, but they were so badly produced. Like Breakaway, great song but her vocals were pitched and heavily processed. Thankful was maybe the best-produced song of the album. LMBTL I loved the choruses but I didn't like the way she experimented with her voice in the verses. Edited November 23, 2019 at 03:23 PM by mikez 1 Quote
browseceline Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:43 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 03:43 PM For the first time Im not sure what more Sony couldve done. Theyve promoted singles, had them played on radio, made music videos and they had her everywhere online across Twitter, Facebook etc and had (it seems) the whole worlds media to New York etc to interview her. I actually say well done to Sony for the marketing and promotion of the album. Sometimes that isnt enough though. The artist needs to promote it too and by that I mean travelling to certain territories and making appearances. Oh and not forgetting to perform the new material too of course! Whether or not they had anything planned in place of the Montreal shows I guess well never know but it seems touring is the 100% priority now.She has to promote the album in this tour! It is called the courage tour. So she is the one pulling the strings.. stevo Posted November 23, 2019 at 04:55 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 04:55 PM I find it hard to believe they would jeopardise the album by cancelling international scheduled promo to fit the rescheduled Montreal shows in, when they could’ve been rescheduled any time during her breaks in the tour schedule. Sure she may have planned a bit more around the US talkshow circuit but I don’t believe she’s was planning to come all the way to the UK to do promo, when she’s in the middle of a world tour. Why then would they have UK entertainment presenters/journalists flying over to her, it doesn’t make sense! I believe the promo was always going to be kept to a minimum due to the fact she’s on a world tour. This is why she sat for days speed interviewing the world’s media before the world tour began and whatever else she recorded over the couple of days in New York. They did cancel promo and she was meant to be in the UK. 2 Quote
Jeanette Posted November 23, 2019 at 05:46 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 05:46 PM They did cancel promo and she was meant to be in the UK. Well if that’s true, I’m majorly disappointed they chose to reschedule these Montreal shows at a time where album promo was paramount. However, to be honest, who can blame them, it’s clear from this week’s sales, promo or no promo, that the money’s no longer in albums/new music, it’s definitely all made in the touring. Sad really but that’s the harsh reality of today’s music business. No wonder she doesn’t release as much new music anymore. Quote
Nmj Posted November 23, 2019 at 05:58 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 05:58 PM Everyone gets sick. That happens. I just want to know who’s bright idea it was to reschedule the cancelled shows, for the week where they intentionally set up the album release because she had a break of touring. I feel bad for the people who’s show was postponed; however it should’ve been rescheduled for a different time, not when am INTERNATIONAL Diva is to be presenting this album to the world. 3 Quote
djdanii Posted November 23, 2019 at 06:01 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 06:01 PM i thought it was kinda funny that it's her first album in her entire career with an explicit song: "Perfect Goodbye" *Explicit. LOL 1 Quote

Sad really but that's the harsh reality of today's music business. No wonder she doesn't release as much new music anymore. She probably makes more from a single show than she does from an album. (Especially given how substantial the recording budget must have been for this album. All of that needs to be recouped before she sees any royalties, unless she has a JV with them and so takes on part of the cost herself, which is common for high-profile artists.) For Sony, it might be a different story. Depends on the terms of her contract and whether they have 360 rights. Plus they can still do well on the album itself even if she doesn't ever recoup and see any royalties on it, simply because of how recording deals are constructed. 1 Quote

I think it's a small handful (maybe 3 people on here, iirc?) who had issues with it. Perfect Goodbye is such a perfect song, and the fact that [sony?] felt the need to mess with it is really quite disheartening. 1 Quote
mirage Posted November 23, 2019 at 07:25 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 07:25 PM Well, just this, thank you! I guess it was the same person who's bright idea it was to start the tour and somewhere in between just release a much anticipated album for years. Everyone gets sick. That happens. stevo Posted November 23, 2019 at 07:30 PM Posted November 23, 2019 at 07:30 PM It’s an absolute disgrace that they rescheduled the Montreal shows for this week- they must have had their reasons- but it’s just baffling to the extreme. I know it is awful to have your show cancelled, but this is her first English album in 6 years! Yes we can’t blame her for getting sick but there had been such a good build up and Sony have done a great job- maybe her contract with AEG/promoter in Montreal made her - there must have been a reason. But I’m raging. 2 Quote

Well for me personally after the disappointment in September it was perfect timing. I got a new album on the Friday, flew to Montreal on the Saturday and saw the show on the Monday... But then I am only one of 7 billion people in the world I suppose, for others maybe the timing wasn't so great. 1 Quote
