"Courage" album - Official Topic

It's interesting to see the different reviews having not listened to the album. Lots of people saying she sounds great but a few saying she sounds awful. Very curious!

 

I'm loving these reviews though, I'm thinking I'm going to love the album, I adore the 4 songs we've heard. I dont know if people understand how monumental this album is though, she's never done an English album of completely new material (no covers), with no duets! This is a pretty big deal!

Eventually, the 90s nostalgia will wear off and she'll need to come up with a new plan. Her recording efforts reflect that, but not the tour.

 

100% agree. The album shows this amazing "new Celine", but the tour doesn't reflect that at all. Hopefully things will change after November 15. Why closing the show with "Imagine" when you can leave everybody speechless with "Perfect Goodbye"?

Even though the album was leaked lots of people still discussing this fact still, while there is nothing that can be done. It happened get over it and enjoy the fact that we have an incredible album filled with beautiful songs.

 

Too people claiming their friends do not like the album and now wont buy it... What is the percentage of people nowadays that buys an album without listening to the songs first... Except huge fans that will buy the album anyways... Most people have spotify or such streaming services and if they do decide to buy an album they will probable listen to it first anyways... So this tells me two things.. You should pick friends with better music taste hehe (kidding) and they would not have bought it anyways.

 

Too people claiming it wasent her team that did this... It can be a marketing stunt.. they use this quite often.. Also when negative things are leaked about artists its also marketing stunt coming from the team... because bad news is better than no news in this industry if they can leak something sometimes they do it to create a buzz... Not saying her team did this cause i dont know what their train of thought is and guess what you dont either... What I would encourage fans if you want to make a difference is listen to the album and make people excited about it hype it up so people can buy it and make it a thing... post on social media that you heard parts of the album and it will be incredible not with the link off course.. But it has been leaked anyways you just need google and you can find it...

 

So at this point we cannot do anything about what happened so stop trying to figure out how celine feels or her team or who did it and who is guilty for spreading... Those are things you dont have in your hand... what you can do is make sure you buy it and promote it to people you know ...

 

And yess would be great if she gets a number one but it is not the end of the world if that does not happen.. Just enjoy the music thats our primary goal as real fans..

It seems that the show still caters all those people that have not seen her in Vegas and now they can. As much as i hope that she adds more new tracks i wonder which ones then go out of the current setlist. the cover medley, i do not see it going anywhere since it has it's own videoprojections and the people seem to love it.. Imagine is a very well known song so closing the show with a totally new song... I don't know.

Only thing I hope is that since it was 2017 she did kind of the same setlist in Europe, she can change it and add new songs. And it would be better because this tour is called Courage and should also be in favour to promote the new album!

Honestly, I hope not. PMLALS deserves so much more than just being a bonus track in Japan.

 

This song must be one of those that Celine said are very special and want to save for the next album or any other project. We'll see.

Yes! "Something So Right" was also the first song that came to mind!

 

And in The Hard Way... the line in the chorus: "I had to climb up all alone"... sounds exactly like a faster version of "Coz you're the fire, you're the one" in Right Next To The Right One.

You don't seem to understand that when you listen to the album on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. it counts as sales (so many streams = one sale equivalent). When an album leaks, it doesn't contribute to anything sales wise or to Sony, the writers, Celine, etc.

I hope that one day illegal album downloads can count towards the charts. Because I think they can actually find out how many times it was downloaded. I remember seeing numbers years ago about illegal downloads.

There are so many illegal links to download the same content that I don't think it would be possible to keep count. Some are even private links. And it will never be taken into account anyway.

When the album is released on Apple Music/Spotify/iTunes, delete the downloaded leaked album.. ok!

 

Only 9 Days Left and the Super Bonus track called "Soul" will be on Nov 27 (21 days left)

I definitely will delete it especially since the leaked album works weird on my iPhone, at the end of each track it goes back a few seconds from the end and never goes to the following. I don't have that problem with the FLAC format on my Sony NW-A45 though.

Celine's number of streams are low. Look at LD/Courage/Imperfections. And they haven't leaked.

People don't need to listen to it many times on streaming services to decide if they like it or not. It won't impact much.

1250 streams =1 album equivalent sale.

And the album would have been available illegally on the 15th a few hours after the official release anyway, so illegal downloaders don't need spotify for that. It doesn't change a thing.

Best selling albums are also the most illegally downloaded in general.

I have to say some of the songs I wasn't too keen with on my first few listens are starting to grow on me...So any Celine fans who are more fans of classic Celine please give it time...Some of the album is a little different from what we are used to with Celine and there is a lack of her typical vocal arcrobatic ballads which I'm still kind of disapointed about but it will grow on you, some gems are on here anyway

 

Can't wait to hear the song 'Soul' Anyone know where we can buy the japanese version when it's released....I wonder if I can change my settings on itunes to the japan version and down load the japaniese bonus track, anyone have any idea?

I did an English translation and it looks like it is Soul (although the translation spelled it like the city in South Korea.....)

Because Japan is the strongest physical market, for a variety of reasons (see here or here or here, and many other articles like these, if you're interested in why).

Special editions, with bonus tracks that you can't download elsewhere, drive physical sales, and with ~70% of the Japanese market still being physical (which is unheard of elsewhere; globally, streaming now represents ~60%), these editions drive substantial revenue.

 

I read these articles (interesting, thanks!) but they just tell that CDs are still big because japanase people are old, don't like illegal stuff and have a 'groupie' or 'collector' mentality wanting to own a physical object.

It doesn't really tell why their CDs have more tracks than international versions, since they already had more in the 90's when digital download / piracy didn't exist. And these "japan bonus track" appear on regular japanese editions, not collectors/special edition/deluxe ones which indeed boost the sales up (and also exist, of course).

So.....

Is there THAT many western fans buying the japanese editions for the extra tracks?

 

As far as I'm concerned, I already bought the deluxe version on amazon.fr, paid extra fee to make sure I get it on the 15th and it includes a free digital download of the tracks.

So i'm very reluctant to import (at what cost!) the japanese edition for that extra track... I'm at a loss! lol
