"Courage" album - Official Topic

[A new day...]

This album is touching me like I never thought it would. I was expecting to enjoy it but it's the first time since a very long time that I listen to almost every track on repeat on an album. You know that feeling when music makes you feel so good that you forget about everything that's surrounding you at the moment and you just lose yourself into it. This morning it even brought tears to my eyes.

 

The only songs I hardly listen to are 'How did you get here' and 'I will be stronger'. And of course FOMO which is not even included in my Courage playlist

CELINE FAN MADE MUSIC VIDEO IDEA

Someone that likes making fan made video clips should gather all the clips they can find about Celine where's she's dancing like "Nobody's Watching" ....

 

Example: at Lady Gaga concert, she didn't give a f*** k and she was dancing like there was no tomorrow.... like nobody was watching...

 

and obviously using the song : "Nobody's Watching" hahah that song is soooo goood!!!

Without knowing who wrote what, I was convinced that Sam Smith wrote Look at us know...so so much like SS song.

 

Not as impressed with his song for Celine.

I think that’s because it sounds like Stay With Me in a way, with its chorus.

I’m adoring “Falling In Love Again”, her tone of voice is so beautiful in this!

 

Everyday I like a different song best; first time she releases an album that I don’t have a for sure favorite right away!

I've also had very good experiences ordering from CDJapan multiple times. They package their items very carefully, and many Japanese editions of CDs are higher quality in sound than those released elsewhere. They ship quickly, and things arrive much faster than their estimated times in my experience, even if I didn't choose the fastest shipping method.

 

I agree, Japanese pressings are of higher quality overall and CDJapan indeed package their items very well and delivery is always speedy. Can't wait to get my hands on this edition of the album especially knowing there will be an exclusive bonus track

I don’t know what they were thinking NOT including “The Hard Way” on the standard version, that song is one of the strongest!! So Celine and So current! Almost feels like it could be part of a movie.

My review on the album.

 

 

 

The album overall is good.

 

It is very of its time since probably Falling Into You.

 

There are quite a few songs that stand out: Lying Down, The Chase, Change My Mind, the last 2 bonus songs, Courage, Say Yes...

 

Vocally there are some moments of brilliance.

 

Now my criticisms:

There are also some songs that were recorded it seems around the time after Rene passed where her voice was stuffed and constrained, similar to Sia's My Love which she released on her youtube channel as a tribute.

 

Her diction and enunciation has taken a bit of a hit on this album. Disappointed that whoever is guiding her in a recording session doesn't point that out and ask her to enunciate better. But then again what am i to expect from a team that released the show must go on in such a vocal condition among many other examples. When you listen to Barbra who is about 25 years older than Celine and you understand almost every word she says, there is no excuse really. Just feels sloppy.

 

Don't let that fool you though because In conclusion, i like the album but wish the vocals were done a bit better on some of the songs.

I understand everything, what you dont understand is you need to read what I am writing I said sometimes they use it as a marketing stunt, to create a buzz.. I did not say that that was their plan... Plus also as i said be happy with the music, wining about getting her to number one, if it happens it happens you all need to except that her peak has already gone by anything we get from her now is a plus and amazing!! I am in love with this album... thats important. I hope more people hear that but i'm okay if she just puts out great music!!

Actually I don't care so much for a number one. Sure, it would be nice but what I care about more than anything is that people who worked hard on this album get their dues (royalties).

Those are the creators and they need to earn their share because they won't make their money touring like Celine does.

It’s hard to predict if this album will debut at #1 or not. The promo strategy is vastly different than any other before it. In the Taking Chances era and long before, the strategy was talk show circuit and TV specials. Now, we have prerecorded interviews and a few months of mostly positive concert reviews. Maybe they’re hoping that that, plus positive album reviews, will get people listening.

 

Either way, there is no “storm the record store” frenzy being whipped up, so I doubt a few thousand fans sampling the album ahead of time is going to make a huge difference in physical sales or streams. If the album is good (and it is), fans will stream the living crap out of it all the way through the new year!

I've listened to it a few times over the last few days.....sounds amazing on my car's surround-sound speakers .......but I'm going to try to not listen anymore until release day. I want to be able to continue my listening party and give her some streaming #'s and not completely be sick of it by the time it comes out (if that's even possible). Wish me luck!!

I've never tried Amazon JP, but like I said, I've used CDJapan many times with no issues. The site is in English, so you can clearly see what you are getting, and you can pay via PayPal instead of entering your info on yet another site directly. I've used both airmail and standard shipping to the US, and they've arrived in much shorter times than what they estimate every time. They also package their items in sturdy boxes, so there's no danger of anything getting crushed or damaged during shipping. I can't say the same for Amazon US...

I love them all but those are the one's that I gravitate towards the most. As I was listening, some of these songs remind me of Pink and some other "modern" artists. I just love it all.

I just noticed the album cover from Amazon.co.jp is slightly differently cropped than the other two (and a little differently saturated). You see more of her legs at the bottom and less of the flame at top in the Japanese one. Very subtle, but it's still different. Strange.

What which team which people ? People involved in Show must go on have nothing to do with the producers, writers, the one guiding her in studio for Courage. That s just where I don t get it.

It doesn't really tell why their CDs have more tracks than international versions, since they already had more in the 90's when digital download / piracy didn't exist. And these "japan bonus track" appear on regular japanese editions, not collectors/special edition/deluxe ones which indeed boost the sales up (and also exist, of course).

So.....

Is there THAT many western fans buying the japanese editions for the extra tracks?

And the rest are so good too, this album is truly the closest to her french Career lyric wise, solid production, and also her most cohesive english album yet...although I have to say that I always skip FOMO and if Soul is as good as the other bonus tracks we're in for a treat!!! Can't wait!
