I’m so peed off with this forum right now! It’s leaked... we can’t do anything now.... it’s out there! I think we are all peed off with this fact!

 

I feel those who have listened to the album have been silenced and now none of us can’t speak true about how we feel and what songs we love. That’s what this forum is about!!

To the people who have listened to the album: is there any storyline between the songs? I know Celine's album haven't been really about telling a big story, but I am curious, cause in one of the French speaking interview, the journalist said that the album was like a summary of her life (or something like that), as if she was looking back and reflecting on her life... I was really interested by this idea, cause I believe, being French speaker myself, that Celine English albums are less personal... Any thoughts on that?

It is not as if the availability of songs kills everything. I believe in Courage and I still think Celine will do very well with this album, as long as she supports it. The material is there. She relies on physical sales for the most part and much of her fan base are people who do go to stores to buy her records. This is not over. Let's remain positive! And enjoy the good music!

Well yes and no. We know the hard core fans will buy the album. But the label's objective is to reach those people who are curious about the new music without being big Celine fans. So this is where the leak might hurt. Sony wants those curious people to stream the music - which counts as sales equivalent - or buy the album. If they don't buy or stream, well that's zero money for Sony, Celine, the writers, the producers, etc.

And less money for music videos!

Totally agree with you! I personally haven't listened to the album (mainly cause I don't know where to look for the link and couldn't be bothered... ahaha So basically out of laziness). But I am very interested in sharing thoughts, opinions, ideas and excitement with people who have! It actually increase my excitement!

 

So, do you think it's a personal album? Or more personal than her previous English albums?

Oh my god! i have the perfect eq for "Say Yes" since i like warmer sound. And she needs more bass in her voice since her tone changed.

 

I love the song! It is the one that made me cry...maybe because I took it too personally thinking about someone important to me...i hate the leak but at the same time...perfect timing...Celine helped me once again. She never disappoints!! I love her

Convenient everyone becomes an xyz when it becomes relevant to a discussion, however thats not the point. Celine and her team clearly have absolutely nothing against it, it is a form or consent to not address it otherwise. And if they do find it illegal, im sure they’d be happy to erase and compensate every single person who has ever been in a picture from a show or a live concert video, better yet anyone who screamed on a DVD recording as I imagine their consent wasnt given, no? So, do we equate filming with no prohibition to piracy? I think not

 

If their team is recording a concert for a DVD, I guarantee you that posted around the venue are signs saying something to the effect of “Please understand that tonight’s performance is being recorded for DVD release. You may appear on camera at some point during the filming. If you have a problem with this, please see the box office staff and they will refund your tickets.” I’ve been at numerous events where that’s been posted. I’ve been the person who has worked the job in my younger years that had to post those signs.

 

You’re just upset that people are listening to the album and you’re not allowing yourself to so you’re punishing other people by making them feel bad.

And PS, I haven’t listened to the album. I have the link to it but probably will just wait until next Friday. But I might change my mind and that’s no one’s business but my own. I’ve already pre-ordered the album - it’s not going to stop me from un-preordering it. If I wanna listen to the freaking leaked album, I’ll listen to it. If you don’t, don’t. Just drop it and let other people do what they want to do - it does not affect you in any way, shape, or form.

Well after listening to the album several times my opinion is that you will either love it or hate it as i don't see people saying it's ok.

 

 

My opinion is I don't like it at all :

- 6 years of waiting for that !!! if these are the best songs she recorded i don't even wanna hear the rest

- Now I understand why there are not more songs off this album on the world tour boring setlist. Thank GOD

- When i am listening to this album it feels like i am listening to the same song again and again (with some variations of course). It makes this album very boring

- My main problem with this album is her interpretation she's not singing she is crying and it is too bad because the voice is quite good (on the technical aspect). This album makes me feel sad but not the good sad the bad one like depressed

- In the end, the 3 songs previously released are by far (very very very far) the best songs of the album.

 

To sum up : This album is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. This is the first Celine's album that i won't buy (I am a big fan since the early 90's).

This is the second disappointment that i have in a row from Her after the boring setlist of the world tour with that godamn awful entry in a "megalomaniacal and narcissitic mode" :

Applaude me and then i shall sing to you. Her last 2 projects are seriously lacking simplicity and generosity.

Such amazing fans. Unbelievable. I don’t care who listens and who doesn’t. I definitely don’t want to hear some crappy leaked versions. What pisses me off is people bragging about the fact they’ve had some sort of “exclusive” early access! You’re nothing short of internet thieves. And even worse those posting their opinions of the songs. It’s disrespectful to us who have chosen to wait, far from the respect shown to Céline. Go ahead and listen for all I care. Just keep your opinions about the songs to yourselves until 15th.

No one is forcing you to read their posts. You could choose to A) scroll past them put them on your ignore list or C) stay off this thread until the 15th. I’ve said to others and I’ll say to you: Change YOUR behavior rather than asking other people to change theirs. People don’t owe it to you not to share their opinions on here of what they’ve heard. Then why are you getting upsetting at people who are listening to the album? They’re just doing something illegal like you did. So what’s the problem?

 

I'm not upset at people listening to it. That's up to them though I am upset about promoting and sharing an album that hasn't been released (different to the sharing of a personal and amateur recording of a tour that is in progress for people who can't afford a ticket or weren't lucky to buy a ticket before they sold out). But I am most annoyed at the people openly discussing an unreleased album in a thread where many people have expressed not wanting to read anything about it. Just because some are impatient shouldn't mean they have liberty to potentially ruin it all for others.

 

I'm not seeing as many spoilery posts anymore and I do hope it stays like this.

I used the Spoilers indication for a couple posts that I made, but asking those who listened to the album to keep their opinions to themselves is too much. This is an album topic. Leaking happened today. None of us caused it. It cannot be undone. All we can do now is discuss the recent developments and try to see things in a positive light.

The Courage World Tour is happening now therefore I stay out of the tour thread because I don't want to spoil it for myself before my show.

 

This is a thread for an album that has NOT been officially released therefore the people that are discussing the unofficially "released" songs they've heard are effectively in the wrong imo.

As for the "buying the album" thing : can you tell me why i should buy a thing that i don't like ?? People say that they'll still buy it because they intend to like the album but they don't know if they will like it yet.

I already bought the 3 songs (previously released) and i surely will buy 2 or 3 other songs that i like but why buying the whole thing when you know that you don't like it. It is just a waste of money.
