Again I appreciate all the opinions on here. That’s what makes it fun. One thing everybody agrees on: this album is different and polarizing

Well after listening to the album several times my opinion is that you will either love it or hate it as i don't see people saying it's ok.

 

 

My opinion is I don't like it at all :

- 6 years of waiting for that !!! if these are the best songs she recorded i don't even wanna hear the rest

- Now I understand why there are not more songs off this album on the world tour boring setlist. Thank GOD

- When i am listening to this album it feels like i am listening to the same song again and again (with some variations of course). It makes this album very boring

- My main problem with this album is her interpretation she's not singing she is crying and it is too bad because the voice is quite good (on the technical aspect). This album makes me feel sad but not the good sad the bad one like depressed

- In the end, the 3 songs previously released are by far (very very very far) the best songs of the album.

 

To sum up : This album is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. This is the first Celine's album that i won't buy (I am a big fan since the early 90's).

This is the second disappointment that i have in a row from Her after the boring setlist of the world tour with that godamn awful entry in a "megalomaniacal and narcissitic mode" :

Applaude me and then i shall sing to you. Her last 2 projects are seriously lacking simplicity and generosity.

This album is the perfect companion to Celine Dion the fashion icon.

She's shedding old skin and awakening a whole new part of herself.

At first, as I was listening, I was a bit nervous... but I get it.

She is truly being courageous.

Very, very proud of our Queen.

This is a new era indeed.

Ok here’s the thing ,when listening to the first three singles (Fomo,courage and imperfections)from the first time It’s like wow you get it u feel it it’s magic right,but the rest of the album apart from maybe one or two songs that I still don’t remember it’s different maybe u just need to listen to it a few times to get that satisfaction, but I mean for me I have nothing to say against the choices that celine made ,after all the women gave us so many different albums,tried all styles ,she’s done it all really over the years ,so if she felt what she felt I don’t blame her ,it was hard for her to choose on her own ,and she wanted to change and I’m ok with that ,but to say the truth there’s something different about that album from any other English or even french albums that she’s done before ,but in terms of vocals I love her vocals so much ,even parts sounds like 90s . Some are slow-dance tracks which i personally love. So romantic.

 

Sounds as if there isn't any dance track on the album besides FOMO? Then why did a review state somthing like that before? Wasn't there mention of "dancethems" or whatever it was called?

 

And no Aoki? I am quite sure he was mentioned to be a part of this album. And some her joked that it may just be the Demix for A.

I had to skip about 10 pages worth of leaked songs conversation.... is there a way for all you spoilers to not ruin it for us? Hi, I don't think creating a separate topic is necessary. Those who've listened to the album have, rightfully so, been putting "spoiler" tag in their posts here so you could just skip right over them. 😀

Come on people, shouldn't we just enjoy discovering those 12 new tracks? We all know that most people downloading it on illegal websites would have done the same in 11 days... As for the hardcore fans like us, we are still going to buy and stream it as planned. We're just able to enjoy it 12 days earlier!

 

I only listened to the album once, but some songs I've played many more! The Chase, Nobody's Watching, Baby, Look At Us Now, Perfect Goodbye

 

I hope the 4 bonus tracks won't "ruin" the georgous ending we have with "Perfect Goodbye".

And also concerning the leak, I just checked and the links on illegal websites are still active. Believe me, if they didn't want the album to be out there they would be reported and put down instantly. It's probably a job for some people to track illegal activities like that so I guess they just let it be.

Agreed that it's better than these two albums.

With this album Celine just enjoys herself and really went for the tunes that she personally like

and she does want to sound different as for with her singing.

I wonder how the 4 rest of the songs are going to be, boy now I'm very curious about that too.

I think I will let this album some time before I comment about it.

I am saddened that Celine's album has been illegally leaked online, but I know that's unfortunately how things go for the most part these days. I don't think Celine is personally effected by this leak. Celine knows that her fans will still stand by her and legally stream the album and buy the physical CD anyways, even if they've listened to the leaked album. Celine has never cared about sales. Yes, I'm sure she's disappointed, but Celine knows these kinds of things can happen all the time in the music industry and I sure she was prepared for it in some way. I will personally be waiting until Nov 15th, because I've already held off this long so far. I've only heard Flying On My Own because I like the element of surprise.

And still.. How could this happen? Is it so difficult to lock the tracks up on a heavy protected drive? And if someone from the media did this he or she should get in jail imo. The whole specialness thing is over, no momentum anymore plus killing streaming of the album and cd sales. I really respect all the work she did to accomplish this album and i will wait until the official release. btw last night i was in my local bar and asked to play Lying down..and the reaction of the people was..wait..does Celine still release songs? They liked the song! And afterwards the barguy played a couple of her older songs including one from her D’eux album, i think it was Priere Paienne. Pretty cool huh;)

The problem is not only that Courage did leak, the real issue is that it has only happened to this album. It's been now a very long time (years) since a major release was leaked so early in advance, usually it happens two-three days before the official date to everyone but not 12 days. Now Celine is playing at a disadvantage against all major releases that week. True that many of the ones getting it illegally wouldn't be planning on buying it in the first place, but they could have used Spotify or Celine's Vevo account on the 15th and that counts towards charts. Anyway there is no point on crying over spilled milk, but this is a huge disappointment to me.

 

And I can't believe the second major celine forum after this one was advertising that the album had leaked on all her Social channels...

Yes and that is why, when her management is smart, they release the album immediately and post links on instagram etc to spotify etc
