And I've since craved for her to really dive into one direction and go all the way, but that doesn't seem to happen. So for me the second best thing (and more plausible) would be a compromise of something totally new mixed with "the fans most have stability". In my dreams will have a modern (ish) dance album with a few "safe ballads". But judging by the past, and the 3 totally different sounding snippets we've Heard we'll probably get another "buffé album" with FOMO as the only dance track and the exception of a "new" sound (yes I know it sounds dated, but for Céline it's new). I wonder when she will dare to step out of that hamster wheel… You speak about compromise, that's actually my biggest fear. All her albums and even her career, was about compromise. Often, compromise are good and necessary, but usually when speaking about arts, that's a creativity killer and that's what any artist should avoid, otherwise, they are not real artist in my opinion. I know it is not a popular opinion and I know we have here her last hit (if we can call them hits) as well as her last ambitious productions. But I would hate having another A new day has come which I think is one of her worst album just because it stinks compromise. Ok Let's make 3 signatures ballads, one or 2 jazz songs, 1 folk song in any case...And so on. I can't with that. And, I'm afraid we're still going this way when I associate Fomo, Sia and the big old ballad snippet. Let's see 1 Quote Peace and love to all.

Lol He mentioned a long time ago that after SSDA, his inspiration to write songs for her had basically dried up. He scraped up a few more for 1F4T, but relied heavily on the other “3 types” to fill out the album. In 2015, Céline called him on the phone and asked for a new song to bookend her life with René — and that one-off favour resulted in « Encore un soir ». I think it boils down to him not wanting to take the chance of writing mediocre material for her, as it would dilute the great masterpieces they made together in the past. Gotta respect that he’s not in it for the money... 8 Quote

However, Mariah also succeeds in making you feel a certain type of way through her live performances. Her only ever performance of “Looking In”, an extremely personal song about before she was famous and how she was having to convince herself every day to keep going and not take her own life (this was never mentioned explicitly however she stated it in an interview), she had the entire audience in tears and even cried herself “Close My Eyes” and “The Roof” always have me in awe of Mariah’s songwriting talent. However, not everything she does is to my taste. I don’t care that Céline doesn’t write many songs. She’s has a commanding stage presence which most, including Mariah, cannot match. Quote
