"Courage" album - Official Topic

I know that if we are speaking about 50 songs, it's maybe 50 work days in about 3 years. But that's not how it works in a creation process and I don't think this way. So I'll stick to my words.

She certainly had one album ready by the end of 2017, I'm happy and even reassured that finally Céline can take this kind of decision to scrap a first project that doesn't reach exactly what she wants or if she feels that she needs more time. In my mind, it demonstrates courage and creativity. I'm happy to finally see Céline this way: in control, and determinate, while seeing a muppet that had to record everything in one week. With all I said that's also why I'm so excited with this new Céline: I feel motivation, ideas, creativity. You think it's a mess and she's lasy, I finally feel creativity. I never felt that in 20 years about her, almost never. She is also certainly approached by a bunch of new writters, testing so different things, which make the choice and the process even more difficult, a choice she has to take by herself for the first time, being totally aware of themusical image she built and how cautious she must be. God this is complex and exciting.

 

That being said, it doesn't insure a good result at all, but I find all the logical, and that leaves me f****** excited.

 

I do get your excitement and I do also want to believe her personal involvement in more aspects of the creative process of this album and all, but I just don't trust her in this. When she proves the contrary, I'll do start believing her again. But for now, everything has been nice words and teasing with pictures in the studio, and repeating like a mantra "I'm the boss now". But let's see how far she's applying that motto when this album is released.

She gave us many reasons yes, many reasons during more than 10 years under René.

 

But we never saw such a process, she's taking this time the opposite way. That is not insignificant.

 

Once again, that doesn't insure a good result. If not, I think I won't even be pissed as I even question her artistry, or let's say her artistry in comparison to my taste But I'm intrigued and still feel that all that is logical and positive: The 3 years etc..

You're just very easy to please. Good news for you is just someone saying in Twitter that Celine is today in her pajamas sunbathing in her backyard at home. But let other fans just wish, ask, have expectations and envisage how they'd like things to be, will you?

I'm easy to please indeed, unlike you. It's her career and her life so after over 35 years working very hard in this crazy business, she can now decide when and how to do things. You can't change that even if you are not happy with what you get.

And I suggest to stop trying to change how she does things because it's out of your control and frankly none of your business. Gracias

She couldnt have released an album in 2017 before the tour because even if we take pics for granted, she had barely even started an album recording process. That and, she wouldve done a european tour and then back to vegas and you all would’ve complained it wasnt enough or didnt et enough promo... so lets not

Thing is they aren't that comfortable at "handle it right".

 

 

actually there are a thousand ways to promote it without having Celine physically everywhere. She could do it like she did with Ashes, send video messages to various tv shows and post loads of stuff on social media to create the hype. And when the tour starts they can show extracts from the concerts and talk about the song and the tour. It’s all possible, they just need to handle it right.

And then her team will go "see it didn't work, let's kill the album and release a best of-album for the tour".

 

 

As much as they try to do their best it's not as great as it is with other artists.

 

I doubt she will promote it. I guess she will do promote it in November since she has a few weeks off.

 

But I honestly think that won't even happen at a big scale, and since everything is Christmas around that time I doubt it will even have serious impact.

It is a weird timing but it worked for EUS. And with the ticket bundle, they know the first week will be huge numbers so they don't seem to care. We will see what happens. As long as there is somewhat of a strategy it's not that dramatic.

Keep preaching! I think 6 years for one album is just a matter of... priorities. There are many hard working artists

but they won't wait 6 years or more with an album.

And at the same time the last 10 years we had (2007-20016):

 

- Vegas, Vegas and Vegas and.... That's it ?!

- Same setlist every day, everywhere during 10 years

- An artist being obliged to follow the exact audio track for any live performance

- Bad english albums with no sense, bad production

- Awfull promotion with a high quantity but low quality: poor single choices, no live bands on TV or fake ones...

- A robotic Celine who lost it

 

I regret to sound like I'm blaming René, it's not about that, I have a tremendous respect for him, but what you are all blaming happenned under René and was intored by René.

 

You have the right to feel nostalgic, miss René or think it was better before. But I think you're missing some points or your reasons are the wrong ones.

 

What I see from 20016:

 

- Celine getting back to being a real interpret, willing to sing live and just kill it, taking risk, doing the acrobatic notes like she used to: A world is gonna change, the reason, think twice, the list is even long.

- An increased number of live performances

- The end of vegas

- Someone finally willing to propose new orchestration of her old hits.

- Someone wanting to test, try, explore, which is the definition of an artist

- Someone finally transforming into an artist

- A woman expanding her empire

- And a singer working hard since 3 years on an album

 

But, a woman being less of an housewives, less academic, less conservative and with sometimes crazy outfit. Deal with it !

This is in fact something that they would probably would be up to. Then when it does nothing for FOMO on the charts they'll go "see it doesnt matter what we do!".

 

 

If (and I do realise it’s a big if) it’s a video for FOMO it would honestly show just how unorganised and out of touch they really are. Like has been said already FOMO has already (sadly) gone.

Shes said she's recorded what? 48/50 songs? Probably more. Considering a song can take all day or however long you have to record it, thats hard work.

A very specific number tho. Why would she say 48 and then look towards the direction of (a place she looked consistently when she said anything of importance) who i can only assume was Denis or someone of importance... 48 is just a bit specific rather than “a ton of”

Well, make them play the song. The attitude against the 'older' artists is ridiculous.

 

A good song is a good song, whether sung by a 50 year old legend, or a newcomer who is in her/his 20s and wears almost no clothes in her/his videos.

 

Think record labels should and could demand more from those stations.

IMO he said Mars because of the all orange set. They can put Celine on a beach, desert, palace, moon, sky, anywhere basically...

 

I would also love to see an outdoor video. We'll see. I' expecting something really good!

When I want to see it from a positive angle I think this delay could be a good sign too (but if he have to wait for this many years and al we get is a OH, TC, LMBTL part 2 I don't know how to react).

 

I really do hope you're right about the creativity part and that this album will be nothing like we've heard from her before! But I am not sure she's gonna be able to fully break free from the straightjacket titled "the fans need stability", but fingers crossed for at least a compromise.

That also leads to them actually having to record good songs and then let it get great production. Then they can take up the battle againt radio stations.... But if they send them good enough songs that sound dated the chances aren't that great of it being well recieved even though the stations are under pressure.

I'm a fan who is asking for music (because she's a singer) and who's tired of waiting 6 years for a new English CD, like 99% of fans in this forum... except you and a couple more, who are only beating around the bush finding lame excuses to justify the unjustifiable and the stupid mistakes and blunders that her team commits all the time. And then your best hobby is bitching the rest of fans who still have expectations and views and keep hope that her career can be managed differently and better. De nada!

Everyday, constantly, with every step she takes, with every public appearance she does, with every move, and everything is scrutinised by us, the hard fans (that's why we're here) and that's when we share our opinions and say "she should do this or that", "would look better with this or that" or "I like this or I don't like that".
