Yeah, IGNL would be great as a duet, also TY. But Incredible is a quite cheap song, and it got a music video!! LMBTL which was a powerhouse song had no video.

“Thank You” makes me cry each time I listen to it. It’s definitely one of her more underrated songs.

“Thank You” is a very underrated song, and should have a life onstage. I think it’s a perfect final encore to go after MHWGO.

You have feelings? :w00t:

It is. I see it as the 'Because You Loved Me' of this era. I lóve the song....it's small, yet very meaningful.

I especially love the part "And for your friendly face, and for just your smile. Simply understanding, what I'm going through right now".

Everytime I hear it, I well up.

I listened to the LMBTL album yesterday, after years without playing it, and Thank You was indeed a highlight of my listening.

I think her collaboration with Ne-Yo arrived late, that ship sailed already when they got together for Incredible, and it will arrive late again when she decides to collaborate with Adele, Bruno Mars or whoever other big name she has said dozens of times she’s a fan.

The problem of Celine and collaborations is that she always arrives late with them :(

Totally off topic but Une Suele Fois is on Spotify and I’ve never noticed it before.😳

He's definitely still very relevant! Specially now that his fellow disciple Avicii sadly passed away this year

David Guetta songs are heavily played on clubs still (at least in my country Spain), and his last collaboration with Flames is heavily played! It couldn't hurt to see Céline's name next to him!

I'm not sure. Dance music has been declining for years in popularity. Thank god for hip hop, saved us from all that flavorless samey DJ stuff from the late 2000s to early 2010s. :giggle:

nowadays theres lots of variety... and a lot of genres have urban influences, I like that better than the dull DJ stuff that was going on, to me those years were the worst in music ever.

It’s never too late to create timeless music. If the name is as big as Adele’s, it will be sure to have people talking.

The urban influence in modern pop music is exactly why I don't listen to the new stuff anymore. I much prefer traditional, melody-driven pop songs (especially when they use more than a few chords). The whole hip hop sound and the need to feature a rapper in EVERY song is honestly unimaginative as hell imo. I really hope Celine doesn't go down that route.

It's no longer the 90's but there are lots of people that want a duet between Celine & Mariah, & I'm sure that would have people talking. So a duet with Adele would never not be big when it's living legend Celine & icon in her own right Adele.

As long as the music is good it's never late, whoever she duets with.

Besides, from what was said here David Guetta mentioned he & Sia co-wrote a song for Celine not that he would be singing with Celine.

I don’t think Guetta really sings, we are talking a collaboration in the way DJ Khaled does.

The one duet I would be happy about is with Ed Sheeran. I think that would be magical, not a big vocal song but just a song that tells a story.

I would like Celine to duet with a female singer. She's got lots of recorded duets with men but not many with women.

But speaking of male singers, would a Celine/the Weeknd duet be crazy? I would love it & think their voices would go well together. Celine doing music like that would be refreshing & would fit her well now imo.

Now Weeknd is a nice idea...

There are not many living legends left for celine to duet with.

She had the changes in the 90's but René decided otherwise.

What do urban influences have to do with how musical or melodic a song is though? I also love melody driven pop songs, but a beat driven song can also be fun.

I'm not against rap features as long as they're good. How imaginative it is should be judged on an individual basis.

Im not familiar with Guetta's music (Sorry, I'm getting old :giggle: ), but I like the song When Love Takes Over. It's a great dance/pop track that reminds me of my trip to London in summer 2009. Is he still great/relevant ?

Forgive me if I'm repeating myself, I honestly can't remember:

I think Céline needs to work with artists who are commercially past their prime but still have a lot to offer artistically. They'd be more willing and able to invest their time and offer their best material (a la JJG).

I've been giving a lot of thought to Mika for example. He's written a lot of gorgeous songs ('Any other world' is one of my favourite songs of all time), but seems played out as a solo artist. Also, he's english-french bilingual, which would be a big plus for working with Céline.

Urban pop music tends to be too beat focused and repetitive in nature. Less melodic than traditional pop songs, with way less musicianship. I guess it's pretty cost effective for record labels to put out this stuff because usually there's not a single (real) instrument in sight, which means less spending on session musicians and studio time. Anyhow, I'm arguing against the sheeple so I probably won't get far lol... 😅

Mmm... Just because something is repetitive or beat driven doesn't mean it's less musical or inventive. I'll give you that it can be less traditionally melodic for sure, if that's your preference then that's your preference. Electronic music can also be less melodic and more beat driven. That's the way music has evolved over time.

Oh yes Mika, I've though this for a while as well. "Staring at the Sun" is one of my favorites.

Well it really depends on what kind of album this will be....

People keep moaning here that the album should be coherent... if for example we're getting an album full of Dion ballads or a TC kind of album and then have a Guetta dance track on it, that wouldn't be very coherent would it?

But..... they should think outside of the box; if it doesn't fit the album, they could still record and release it as a one-off single.

If they only knew where to find that box and know how to think outside the box, it could happen.

But nah it's TeamCeline what do you think?

I fully agree with you. I was just sighing because the key word in the interview was “may” record. :)

My god, a track of David Guetta and Sia, I hope that Celine record and release as a single, will be a burst, by God they do not miss this opportunity.
