I guess Sony is hoping that Céline gets a nomination at the Grammys or the Oscars and then use that to promote and launch the new single/album in January/February.

As you know, releasing a Céline single just before Christmas won't help her get much airplay as AC stations (in the U.S.) switch to Xmas music in November so that's probably the worst timing if you are an AC artist such as Céline. :-D

Yes, although I really want a new album, I don't think it's a good time for her to release an album right before Christmas, unless they only chasing for sales.

This album has two main songwriters it appears, Sia and Moccio.

His latest collaborations with Sia and Anne-Marie (one month ago) have had 103 and 57M views on youtube. I wouldnt call those numbers irrelevant. And I quite like his song Flames, with Sia...

David Getta is still relevant (not as much as 3 or 4 years ago but who cares). That wouldn't be a bad move on Céline's part that's for sure. He would bring a different public to Céline's album.

And obviously the song wouldn't be a ballad so I'm all for it. Something cool can't hurt!!!

He's definitely still very relevant! Specially now that his fellow disciple Avicii sadly passed away this year :down:

 

David Guetta songs are heavily played on clubs still (at least in my country Spain), and his last collaboration with Flames is heavily played! It couldn't hurt to see Céline's name next to him! :wub:

And I really don't think it would be a hit: he's already got a big voice for his singles - Sia's. What's the point in having Celine's?

She's a legend, ok (and obviously the best voice ^_^ ). But past that point of interest? Moreover, she already did an unexpected coupling with Deadpool. Another one would feel like she's trying too hard (and too cheap).

Hardly.... everyone wants to work with her.... I think working with Neyo was cheap... not someone who can bring a current sounding song... it would get her name out there with the younger generation and would be a nice follow up to Ashes if you asked me...

I dunno.... I do like him but both the songs he worked on weren’t fantastic... I was really underwhelmed by incredible after so much hype... don’t think he gave the best of himself to Celine at all...

I agree. Could you imagine he did the duet on “ I got nothin left “ instead of “Incredible”..?

 

To me “I got nothing left” would have been great as a duet!

Also, I’m not a huge fan of the entire LMBTL album but I really adore “Thank You”.

Thank You is definitely a highlight on the album! Simple and lovely song.
