How exciting that Cher’s new album is so successful!

 

It’s brought on an ABBA obsession for me. Loved them as a kid and now I’m obsessed again!!

 

Celine could do a concept album like that and have great success too. It’s a reminder that Celine’s got plenty of years to keep wowing us!!!!

I don't want random songs... look at Recovering, TSMGO, HDAMLF.... it doesn't work. I want albums, a collection of songs with a certain atmosphere. Songs that belong together.

 

 

She just needs to keep the gaps in between the shorter

I cried when I first heard Recovering. And I regularly listen to HDAMLF.

 

But, then, I suppose we are all different.

I think she and her team ( and all the "old" stars like Mariah, Madonna etc...) need to shake themselves when it comes to work.

 

It's amazing how they have it all and they literally do NOTHING with it.

They don't need to build a career, they don't need to prove anything, they don't need to keep on selling a lot etc... They can do EVERYTHING!

We are in 2018, our (and THEIR) means artistically speaking are infinite and they just keep on coming back with the same old uninspired formula. Where are they living? And sometimes it doesn't take a lot.

 

I have in mind "say something" of Justin Timberlake. That song is just a crescendo of harmonies from 2 guys with a so-so voice (and later on with a choir) and they did a (live) MV of a 7 min sequence shot in an old building... And it works! It's catchy, it's modern without trying and without sound effects while creating a moving atmosphere !

 

Mariah comes back with a lame ballad striking the pose throughout the MV. What about Céline? Her lead will be a 3 min song without MV? Lol 😂

If so, she'd better retire.

 

These divas really needs to be shaken. Or at LEAST they should explain their motivations because I fail to see.

They should send everything away, try something new instead of being prisoners of their image. Because at the end of the day, nobody cares about their new music beside their fans who will support them anyway...

I actually don’t mind the length of this album. Cher was reportedly already recording her follow up to “Closer to the Truth” when the idea for the ABBA album came about. Just a quick little gift. And I love it the way it is.

Some things that make me frustrated, such as the clip of Encore Un Soir that never came out, we have a new sucesse, an album that sold a lot and without music video, as well as the choice of their singles, do not understand their team choose songs from a young artists and do not release their music with single, so many good songs from the album Encore Un Soir, wasted, as well as some English albums of Celine, many songs with potential singles and they just play it out, someone from Sony does not like Celine, I do not understand that treatment .

 

I hope this album changes things.

And you have anticipate when she is a hot topic..not wait until that interest lessens. Even younger generations have found her with How does a moment last forever and the youtubehit Ashes. NOW is the time to release something. Do not wait too long Team Celine!

the album will be released next year, how early is it customary to release a single from the album? If it's being released in the first half of 2019 (which I think it will. I hope it will) then debuting a single now would be too early imo, unless the album is coming out in the first 2 months of 2019 which I highly doubt otherwise they would have already given the release date (maybe they'll surprise us with a release date/single in December, a Christmas present? Just a thought TC ).

 

If we were talking about random songs being released like Recovering or Show must Go On then yeah drop the song anytime. But something that is a part of an album that will be released in the next year I don't think would be released now.

I hinted that thought some years ago, and I still think it's nothing stupide nor a crazy idea: I do believe there's someone at Sony that since many years ago, doesn't want Céline to shine and keep growing with her albums. Or at least, someone hasn't wanted Céline to overshadow other artists since 2003 with their releases.

 

And judging by the intensive promotion, publicity and support that other artists have received from Sony in all these years (Shakira, Beyoncé, JLo to name a few), with garbage music and mediocre singles in many occasions, I think this thought is more than plausible

 

Add to that the absolute lack of interest and apathy of Céline to defend and present her own new releases each time she has given a concert since 2003, and you can understand the current situation we see today: a complete indifference from Sony with her music, despite having a successful album -EUS-, absence of singles, videoclips etc

 

The failed release of WTWOLYR despite singing the song in 2002 with Destiny's Child (with a rising Beyoncé in the way to start her own solo career in that time),

 

The failed collaboration with Will.I.Am in Eyes On Me that came to nothing with only that performance in her TV Special but no recording, no remixes.

 

The excpected Somebody Loves Somebody single and remixes for LMBTL,

 

The not so long ago years 2007-2009 in which we were literally inundated with "collector's editions", repackaged albums, box sets, collections etc and it all suddenly stopped in 2010.

 

Because if you remember Legacy Recordings (a branch division from Sony Music in charge of rereleasing the old albums from their best trademark artists) had a genuine interest in releasing her old catalogue and her best-selling albums with bonus contents and DVDs, something they started in 2007 with TAST and followed with ANDHC, but it didn't last long, stopping the next year with the triple box set of FIY/LTAL/ANDHC. Since then, no more releases with that label. One would have expected the release at least of her best selling albums in that format, FIY and LTAL. But nope, they keep working with many other artists from Sony, releasing their old catalogue in very nice collector editions. But no more Céline. For a singer that is their best-selling artist in the label, isn't a bit strange?

 

And so on.

 

So many songs that were CLEARLY single material and screaming to be sent to radios right away, and so many times neglected and totally ignored from Sony, Céline's home in the business. Any other singer would have understood with only one listen which songs deserved to be sent to radios, promoted and performed on concert, but with Céline, they work hard so as to ignore precisely and exactly THOSE potential singles, since 2002. In my opinion, the black sheep is within her own record label, and I have believed that since many years ago.

 

Had she been with another record label, we would have seen other side of things for sure.
