Listen I’m not saying I hate “Ashes” and you’re right it miles better than “HDAMLF” but I’m sorry I still don’t see any form

of comparement to MHWGO at all.

 

You don't need to be so hard toward Ashes. MHWGO is an exception and it's kinda unfair to take it as comparison. Céline did I don't know how movie songs and none of them are linked as much as MHWGO is to Titanic. Maybe B&B and still... Only in the English speaking countries because each country has its own version.

If we are talking singles... Very few ballads make the charts now a days unless it’s Ed Sheehan or Adele ... but Sia has quite a few uptempo’s this year in the top 20 so I choose Sia

 

But if we are talking albums then I choose ANDHC cover LMBTL

Yes but let’s hope they don’t go chasing a uptempo single just for the sake of trying to have a hit, it’ll fail when you try to hard. I think another hit will only come for Celine if they stay true to her style. It’s clear now the public wants typical Celine over her trying to sound like she’s someone she’s not; good for a few album fillers but not as a worldwide single. She should stay away from uptempos unless they are in the vein of “IDAN” or “I’m Alive”.

 

Actually, I’d be fine with a full album of “Water from The Moon”s and “I Surrender”s.

Look what she did with Ashes. Yes, there was the deadpool marketing, ryan reynolds, the comedic aspect, celine legend status, contrast, etc. But if it stuck (though briefly), it's because Celine Dion was singing a nice ballad.

We must agree that it was the whole package, a nice alignment of stars.

 

LMBTL failed (yes, no promo, no video). TC failed (promo+video). IDAN failed (promo+bad video).

ANDHC worked (mid tempo ballad) I'm Alive too (midtempo?).

TTWII hit - but she was a the top of her selling career. Had it been released as ANDHC first single, I'm not sure it would have scored that big (if #6 on Billboard hot 100 is to be considered a big hit...).

 

Personnaly, I would love a Sia song as first single. I love her and I love LMBTL. Thank God for that!

But would it appeal to the masses? Would an uptempo song really speak to the young people (who are the ones making songs a hit)?

Former releases tend to invalidate the idea.

Yes, Celine is hype now, youngsters discovered her with Ashes, she's a fashion icon... Is it enough for an uptempo song to score among the young public listening to songs on spotify & youtube? They will probably listen to it, thinks that's it's okay/nice, have a bit of a momentum on AC charts, and that's it.

Besides, is Sia that big nowadays (without david guetta)?

 

But who could resist a Celine Dion power ballad in 2019, Celine being who she is now? It would be a nod to her carrer, to her legend status (wich she achieved thx to her power ballads), a guilty pleasure lurking around vintage. Something between Breakaway, I surrender & Adele duet. Not with the old & boring arrangement HDAMLF had, I'm talking about a modern power ballad (yes, back to Ashes).

And it's something people could say would make René proud (the press would luuuuve that and write countless lines about it).

 

So in the end, the best choice would be a song Celine really loves and wants to support!

Cause it must be very difficult for sony to make a call, commercially speaking (assuming they up to their job, which is a long shot).

It would be really cool to have something exactly like this on a bonus DVD of her album where they describe the creative process of the songs in detail. That would be so cool! And they could release these pictures as a bonus booklet of the deluxe edition of the album, like they did with Delles

Yeah, this would be great, but I don't think so, that Céline's music will be part of THIS special project. As this photographer explains at the start, this project jumps from one artist to another. So Maty Noyes connected him with Stephan, and he will connect him with this mysterious "11-Mio.-Debut-Album-Involver" (due to his website it seems to be Charlie Walk former president of Republic Records https://jaredpolin.com/new-page-1).

 

On the other hand I am quite sure (resp. HOPE) that there will be "making of"-clips of the new album. But not with this guy in this project.

 

And sorry to correct you, but Céline isn't the biggest superstar Stephan ever worked with - he worked with Miley Cyrus creating the multimillionendollar-hit "Wrecking Ball", Fergie, Ne-Yo, Avril Lavinge, Seal, Ellie Goulding, James Blunt - just to name a few. These are all superstars. And, no, I don't compare these artists with Céline!!!! Surely she sold more albums than these - but all of them sold enough to be called superstars.
