"Courage" album - Official Topic

It brings me comfort to know that some of her past producers are working with her again. It makes it a more meaningful album.

 

It'd be nice for the folks working on the album to really go back through her discroagraphy and reflect on all the songs she's recorded.

 

These albums are so embedded into my childhood / my life and it would be great to hear flavors of ALL her different albums on this new record.

 

For instance -- I loved how Celine sounded, and I loved all the songs she recorded for the CELINE DION album.

 

If we get another beautiful album like the CELINE DION album or A NEW DAY HAS COME, I would be thrilled.

Yes i would say it sounds still modern. Ashes sounds modern, so does Loved me back to life, Incredible and so on...

Javito, I know ANDHC is your favorite album. But IMO the first half of LMBTL (LMBTL, SLS, DNL,..) and OH are more listenable than the sterile ANDHC (the singles ANDHC and IA were great ).

ps she takes her time with everything to a point where even her biggest fans start talking about other artists on her forum, because there really is little to talk about regarding Celine. Get a good manager, Celine!

You've hit the nail on the head. We're kind of split when it comes to what we crave out of this new album. I think a lot of us fans (but clearly not ALL) want more of that classic Celine sound that made her an ICON vs. a trendy modern approach with this new album. She's done that already (Taking Chances, Loved Me Back to Life, One Heart) and it did NOT strike a chord in comparison to the success of her other albums. She has not had a huge English album since A NEW DAY HAS COME.

 

They took more of a "classic" approach with Whitney Houston's last studio album too, and it was lovely. (Granted, her voice was gone.)

 

With that said, we all still want fresh-sounding, modern songs for Celine. But I think there's a way to MARRY classic-sounding Celine with a modern approach. A song like ASHES was a lovely example of this.

 

If she sang Sia-penned songs, for exampled, but just SOUNDED LIKE HER OWN BEAUTIFUL SELF rather than trying to sound "modern" or with a "bedroom voice", I'd be thrilled.

So according to this interview the new album will be out in 2019. At least now we know...

 

Gosh, this is a really boring time to be a Celine fan... I really miss those moments we had in 2016 when she was everywhere under Aldo. She did a totally random concert on GMA in NY, she hosted the morning show etc. And she didn't even have anything new to promote.

 

Stuff like that didn't happen before in those last 18 years. Aldo was a good manager. It's really clear to me now that Celine is just not interested in these things. She prefers to take it easy and not do a lot. That's such a shame, because she is still young and has a great talent that she could use and share with the world, but instead she is holding it back. Moreover, since 2016 people are interested in her like never before and she is not using any of that momentum. Why? She is wasting so many opportunities.

 

They could now at least release those damn tours on bluray for the fans till the new album arrives. Gosh, give us at least something for now!!! It's so frustrating...

I feel like Celine doesn't care to do interviews just for the heck of it cause, in her mind probably, why? She only "likes" doing it when she needs to promote something.

Regarding the sound, I hope it sounds coherent. I'm not pleased to listen to a whole album like "Loved Me Back To Life" where side A sounds current and side B is boring and outdated.

 

The name? Something short like "Unison" and not long like "Let's Talk About Love" or something including the word "love" or "heart".

They could easily release 1 or 2 songs already.

And even when they don't end up on the album it's still a teaser for the people.

And it's always good.

Is Denise Bombardier retired?

Would love to see that type of interview again. It's one of the few times that Céline comes across as the intelligent, analytical woman that I'm convinced she is. We usually only get to see glimpses at best.

 

I do think she did too many interviews in 2016, so she ended up having to answer the same questions each and every time. It may have been a deliberate strategy to stop doing (real) interviews until the new album. So maybe she's just 'saving' her answers? (hence all the non-answers? better make news when you've got something to promote, right?)

the longer you live , how i wish there is more understanding and compassion in the world. When i see that people have more appreciatiion for Aldo than Celine... WTF. She needs a gerant? With all she has done already... Did aldo gave her her personnality? did he do the vogue Video last year? Did he sang the Ashes song, did he do the video. did Ryan Raynold said to himself, i will send the song to Aldo . He is a great guy Aldo, but he was there to take care of Celine for a moment, and this moment has passed. Enough with giving all the merits to everyone but Celine. I'm just so over this as a woman, as a Québécoise. She is our only world star, and with it, a lot of responsability. I'm proud of her, that she could face that kind of pressure all her life. She is the boss now. And it is about time.

Aren't here some people who are working @ the CIA/FBI? These guys have special software where you can make a clearer picture out of a blurry one! (At least according to Hollywood!)
