I just hope they take a new direction since the Sia-Celine single went nowhere

 

I feel like the general public would embrace a Celine comeback if they just make the right choices. :-D

ASHES was so lovely so you never know what's coming our way.

 

The low level of success for the Celine-Sia single was not because of what the song was. There was literally no drive from her record company to put the song out there for people to hear. No real radio deal. No push for airplay. No online ads via YouTube or even banners. It was a very bad move on Sony’s part. I. Sure with the right push, it would have done well on the AC charts at the very least.

that's not bad actually, but I hope the song he did for Celine is much better than this. This song sounds okay, but not breathtaking if you know what I mean. I still think that ANDHC Radio Remix is way better than this

True --- Also, the general public was not as ready to embrace Celine then as they are now.

 

Also, I'd just selfishly be happy with a song like A NEW DAY HAS COME again. It was Celine's last mainstream English hit. I feel like the stars are aligning for Moccio --- he was responsible for Celine's last English hit single, and he has momentum with Avril.

 

With that said --- I would LOVE a Celine / Sia duet and I'm sure Celine's new Sia songs will be modern and fresh. I really loved LOVED ME BACK TO LIFE. But I think what the masses crave from Celine is is soaring, beautiful vocals and not trying to be trendy.

 

Also — LMBTL has a touch of that granny / trendy voice that I never want to hear Celine do on a record ever again.

 

More songs like Ashes please!!!!

You are not the only one, I actually think LMBTL is a great album. I don't think there's a single song I don't like from that album.

I do love Ashes too. It's success is partly due because of the popularity of the movie and having a video, but also because it's a good song and because they are promoting the song a lot. People are listening to it just because. Funny thing, I have seen dozens of body builders that actually are listening to the song as they work out. Who would of thought?

Though I must admit her vocals are good.

“Ashes” has been pushing me through the roughest breakup of my life. The lyrics aren’t saccharine, and production is not over the top, and the melody is subtle and beautiful. Love this song.

I think Ashes success is

 

30% the heavy promotion linked with the movie (that was KEY to the sucess of the song),

30% the videoclip released the same day as the song,

20% the longing of public wanting to hear a new Céline Dion song, and

20% the song itself, which I agree is far from impressive, but the other factors carry a great weight on the final success of it :)

 

Had the song been released as just a "Celine Dion song" without the movie association, I very much doubt it would have gone anywhere far as it's the umpteenth Celine Dion ballad and she has dozens better than this.

Oh my...

I read a lot of bad stuff about Avrils new song. Now that I hear it, I understand why.

I truly hope Celine did better thing with him
